OK I got one of these babies in the mail the other day, my initial impression was...this things cool. After reading some reviews on it, I did a test. I used 2 ohm nichrome wire and a wick straight out of the box to make a coil, slapped it together and its vapin' time.

Nasty taste straight away with my normal 24mg Boba's Bounty mix. Not normal, so after reading some tips from other members here, I proceeded to soak all the wicks in a big vitamin bottle filled with alcohol for around 20 minutes or so...shaking the bottle occasionally to stir em up. I also wiped down the rest of my new bundled nichrome wire with alcohol, then rinsed em quick and dried them good. I then rinsed the wick material under scalding hot water to flush all that nasty alcohol out of them using a small handheld flour sifter, it worked perfectly nice clean wicks. I threw the wicks in a baking pan and turned the oven on 450 and let them dry nice nice for about 20 minutes. While I did that I also threw the Ato-mizer itself into the bottle of alcohol, and then let it soak while the wicks were drying out.

All total...about a 45 minutes of time spent to eliminate all traces of chemicals on the wicks..on the nichrome wire(if there were any) and any oil from the ato-mizer itself from the machining of the metal. There's ALWAYS oil on machined metal...gotta clean it up. Not alot of time spent to pre-clean 30 atomizer setups at all.

So now I proceed to make a new coil with 2 ohm wire again, this time following the video from Nhaler on how to make a coil for it. Fold the wick 4 times insert needle and wrap wick with the nichrome wire. Done. Time to vape. Zero nasty taste at 3.7v....but the vapor was not exactly what I expected. With the cap off its a steady constant cloud pouring off the inhaler looks so cool. BUT with the cap on, I was getting cool vapor with not as much throat hit as I wanted.

So here's what I did, made a brandy spankin new coil with the wick only folder over 1 time(1/2 the thickness of the recommended folding procedure) Used 2 ohm wire again...and this time I wrapped that sucka TIGHT. BIG DIFFERENCE. Now this thing hits like a CHAMP.

The reason I did this was after looking at one of my joye 510 1.7 ohm Low Resistance atties, de-wicking it and de-bridging it also, if you look at the coil it is super tight. It looks like a super tiny tight pen spring. What I discovered is that the coils on the factory atties are no bigger inside diameter than the saftey pin's outside diameter. And thats WITHOUT the wick wrapped on the safety pin.

One more thing, the wicks that come with the atomizer after cleaning work great...no complaints. But you do not have to use that wick as it comes out of the package. You can add strands or take them away and it will still work fine. Now I am using a full length wick folded 1 time wrapped really tight with the 2 ohm wire using the safety pin, then what I do is use another strand off one of the wicks to tie my coil wick up and into a bundle. It works great and no hassles at all when putting that cap back on.

End result: Nice warm vapor, more vapor output..no wicks resting against the inside of the cap blocking airholes...just a good vaping experience. I like it. Videos on its way. :2cool:

Awesome glad to hear it's working well and I agree with prepping all your wicks and wires just so you don't have to worry about it when you want to rebuild.
I have to admit though I thought drew gave you some drip tips that would work with on the ato-miser and thats what you were going to talk about lol. Still these ato-miser "tips" will be very helpful :)

Glad it's working for you. I'm loving it also, hold a LOT of liquid and easy to change flavors and clean. I've been using the same build on one since I got it probably 6 weeks and still hitting like a champ. I just do a rinse under warm water and a dry burn when I switch flavors and instant new atty.

The other I keep experimenting with. I've been using Kanthal in place of the Nichrome. Can't tell any difference once it's built but it's easier to work with when making them and doesn't break as easy.

Ditto what these other guys say. isnt the atto miser like being set free again? Its like when i started vaping, being set free from analogs, and now being set free from 10$ a piece burnt up atties. Got to say after 3 months or so with this atty im still excited. Drew, the vaping community owes you a debt of gratitude. I hope you get the recognition you deserve for this advancment in vaping.Mahbohman your on the right track keep your coils close and tightly wound, and not touching. also its my experience that a short wick is better but thats just my opinion. sloppy coils with a long wick are harger to manage and give sputtery harsh vapes. the tight coils seem to be smoother. Drew i do wish you would have allowed for me to use my own drip tips but thats really my only complaint.
