Burning wick problem on 2.6, 2.8 Phoenix XL's

I just got 3 packs of this resistance and out of 6 cartos only 3 have worked. When they work, they are fabulous!! But 3 have given me horrible burnt wicks after 3 puffs. I am filling correctly upside down and filled full. Getting bubbles out of syringe before filling. I even let them set for a bit before use. I am not sure if these resistance are worse, but I have heard better reports from the lower resistance ones. I am vaping at 3.7 so not trying to fry them! LOL I took the one burnt one apart totally and the wick was crispy black and fried after 3 puffs, I had 3 do the same thing, any suggestions?? Why is this doing that?? Thanks, bnrk

That's fairly common, some are not up to par, some work fine. Its too bad that every carto out of the pack is as good as doa. Pretty typical with the phoenix xl. Lift the coils and cross your fingers that you don't break them.

Do you take them apart before you use them? Can you tell if the coils are not up far enough?? Is it hard to get the plastic tube back on?? I'd like to be sure mine are ok before I fill with juice and then a dud. Thanks, bnrk

yes, after cleaning the first one 15 times (the one that works real good) i know what they are supposed to looks like. the others that dont work (wick) well, the coils are pushed down in the cup and the wick is not straight. i lifted the coils up a bit too much on couple of them and snapped them.

that being said... the one that works well, works EXTREMELY well. i have cleaned it maybe 20 times by now and it STILL works good!
it is my belief that they should all work like the good one i have....but maybe its unrealistic to have QC to check the wicks on every single carto at the end of the production line.

if i had known everything i know now, i would order the phoenix xl allover again.

Thanks for the tip melloyello, I will clean my good ones as soon as I finish up the juice in them. I have 2 now working very well. My other good one actually fired when I refilled it, arggg, so not sure what happened to that one it was working great until refilled. bnrk
