I ordered a vamo. As soon as that comes and I verify that I can use it, I will send the provari in for repairs.

I waffled back and forth between getting another provari (had the purple one in my cart, ready to go). I decided on the vamo because I don't want to spend $200 on something that is going to break in just over a year. If something's going to break I'd rather just spend $40-50. I don't know, the button issue has me feeling a little bummed towards provari. I did some more extensive cleaning on it, and it seems okay, then goes right back to being wonky. I hope they can fix it.

...

The Vamo is a Good PV. I bought one to use as my Out-n-About PV. I like keep my Provaris at home most of the time. It doesn't feel as good in your as a Provari does but it gets the Job Done and the Price is Very Reasonable.

One thing I would suggest when you get you Vamo is to be Very Careful of the Threads. Mine were Cut Dead Sharp with no Lead Thread. That and there aren't that many Threads.

I broke the edge of the First Thread/Inside Tube Diameter with some 400 Sand Paper and Globed on some Nolox. Made a Huge Difference.

If you decide to Sand the First Thread/Inside Diameter, Go VERY SLOW. It Only takes a Pass or Two with Very Light Pressure to Break the Edges.

No problem.

When I first got my Vamo I thought that the Treads were going to be a Problems. But 5 Minutes of Hand Finishing and a Little Nolox and they work fine.

Also, be sure to check out how to go from N01 to N02 mode. Each gives a Very Different Hit.

If it is in the mechanics of the switch and not the actual electronics, It could simply be that something is gunked up or slightly out of place. If you decide to take it apart to try cleaning and restacking the parts of the switch, let me know and I can help you.

I wish I could do that, but that is far beyond what I could do without a mentor right there with me. Lol. I can sequence your DNA, but I cant do that. It's the kind of thing I'd like to learn to do though.

I have posted similar pictures in other threads, but I always like to show people just what the board looks like since there are such few pictures floating around. This is the switch side of the board. The round circle in the middle is the switch and then there is a slightly squishy piece that sits in there like a plunger/spacer, a metal clip kind of thing goes over that to hold it in place, and then your button sits on top of that just being held in place by the fact that the dimensions of everything and clearances will not let it fall out of place.

Thanks. Maybe one day someone can come and teach me how to do that kind of thing.

My SS Vamo arrived today, and its pretty nice. I think I actually prefer the menu system to the provari's. I haven't tried it in VW yet, but that's a cool feature. I don't like how long it is though. I just ordered some 18350s so I can make it a shorty if I'm going out and about.

Now I can send the provari out for repairs.
