A guy had a little problem with the threads stripped on his Buzz Pro. The problem was that we are in UK & the new tops are out of stock. But what he really wanted was a flat top for it, Perhaps in 316 Stainless would be fine.
The problem is that many yrs ago UK changed to metric like the rest of Europe. Therefore my lathe cuts only metric threads. So the solution was easy enough. I machined away all of the top & left only the threaded section. I then made the flat top & drilled & threaded a couple of holes to fix the threaded section to it. The part that fits into the Buzz is exactly as it was before. But whilst I was doing the centre pin, I made a threaded section to enable the centre pin height to be adjusted to any height that suits.
I machined another Acetal insulator, so it now has an insulator at the top & the original on the bottom. No o-rings are needed. All the parts used are in the 1st pic
I hope someone isn't going to tell me now that the thread is metric, as TBH I just assumed it wasn't.
