I voted for "other" but didn't see where I was suppose to add my choice? I just like the term "inhaler" more than "vaporizer" for some reason. Vaporizer reminds me of when someone is sick and have to have a vaporizer in the room to sleep? Maybe it could just be a vape-haler!

Language is very important in the way we conceptualise things and actions, just think of the difference between words like gay, queer, poof and homosexual. They are all loaded words with different connotations, some positive, some neutral and some derogatory.
Language is constantly evolving too, there is nothing wrong with claiming words and giving them new associations and respectability. Again, think of the word queer, it used to be a negative word but the gay movement reclaimed it, added positive connotations and made it acceptable (this idea might not have filtered through everywhere).
We are evolving our language too, we've started with cigs, smokers and smoking but that doesn't mean it describes our devices, us and what we do. There will always be variations and slang but positive words are a good thing to get used to and associate ourselves with.
Inhaler and vapouriser are better than cig and I like the way Janty market the Fogger. I quite like foggers, fogging and old foggies I'm sure Ludo would have something to say about stealing a Janty idea though.

i refer to mine as an electric ... when a UK person says "what is that"..
just for a laff.. when i was a kid long long ago.. the word "bob" was used for a common human activity we all have to do.. probably the most euphemized activity on the planet..
whenever i hear the name "bob" things spring into my mind that really shouldnt do.. give a word a bad smell and it sticks.. for a long time..
word linking is a common propaganda tool.. put the same two words together in the same sentence often enough and they get to mean the same..
the most dangerouse example we have in the UK at the moment is what our police now do.. they dont fight crime anymore.. they fight crime and terrorism..
media linking of the two words gets them to mean the same thing.. which of course leads us nicely into a police state without any objection from the people..
the nanny state arrives in the same way.. we must be protected at all costs.. even if one of the costs is our personal freedom..
that pretty talking box we all have sat in our living rooms and kids bedrooms has a lot to answer for..

Smaze-series sounds easy, so thats good... but it does sound very close to tazer for my feeling, and I guess that's what we don't want to experience... might be just me though thats making that link.
As for the liquid, I guess we had better declare brewing to be out, seeing the anti's will move on to the next field once they have had their fun with our kind. A few others in there do sound a bit like a witch mixing poisons over her black pot
So I guess we would be zymurging? Not sure anyone will be able to even remember that ... so perhaps that could just stay liquid?
This is exactly what I wanted to say and what I do in public. (Nicotine) inhaler is a perfect name for a perfect concept of going off tobacco smoke. Problem is, all the sellers will continue using e-cig etc., so all our efforts in this field are completely in vain.
Don't be defeatist, we can use any words we like and they will sell them for us to make money eventually.
We are the community that counts, it's our sub culture, our language, our money, lets find words we are happy with and the rest will follow in time.
There's no need to try to prohibit certain words, just to find better ones that will eventually catch on. That is how language develops, it is constantly changing and the best changes are from the grass roots.

yup, your right, suppliers would be crucifying themselves in the SERPS if they called them anything but e-cigarette, e-cig or the unwieldy "electronic cigarette". and while it is true that cixi e-cig claim the former two as trademarks, I'm pretty much sure that they have lost entitlement to the terms owing to the fact that they have now become generized, but they don't seem to be concerned. but yeah, no-one ever called walkmans - personal cassette players, they were walkmans, no matter which make you bought, though officially, the other manufacturers could not label them as walkmans as sony chased up incorrect usage of their trademark.
I do think bob has a point though, electronic cigarette is a crap description for all the reasons already pointed out and in official correspondence with officials we should collectively call them something like portable/personal vaporizing devices or something similar and add that classification to their wikipedia entry as that is the first port of call for anyone searching for information on them. say it enough times and it will become fact. look what happened to "e-cig".

. Some excellent ideas and points on here!!! When the supplier mentioned Intellicig, I was thinking how Kleenex was used in terms of tissues. I cracked up at TB's suggestions!! Too funny! I don't think "electric ..." would work here in the U.S. trog. We'd really get some funny looks from that one..lol.
Makes me think of someone at a pride parade wearing a lot of lights and leather.
I say we call it a personal electronic smokeless vaporizational nicotinic inhalatory doowhacky.
