So I could take 30ga SS, and do my same 5/6 wrap coil, not even caring what the resistance is, and the chip set would let me get the same vape I've always had??? What about air flow??

Yes. Airflow? Depends on the atty. Kayfuns (especially the older ones) are known for not playing nice in TC mode.

ETA: I'd probably go with 6/7 wraps myself (2.5mm ID), but that's just me. 5/6 is fine. I like to consult Steam Engine when building new coils, just to make sure.

When I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for music wise I always turn to Clapton until i figure it out. Been that way since I can remember.

:thumb:

I've turned to his "August" album more times than I can think in such situations. I don't know why - some things just "are".

I guess it's in the way that he uses it.

...or $29 (black or silver) from Gormly, and Mr LD will have it in your hands in just days.

DV rocks.

Eleaf Brand
I got my silver one from DV at that price. I also got one of my Vamo's there. I don't think Gormly is doing that thing anymore. My Pico shipped from south Florida.

He's still doing it, but stopped shipping some years back. That's now done by an old and valued friend, well known for the review videos he did for Eric, WAY back when....

This one song has pulled me out of more emotional funks than I care to recall. The crescendos reach to the deepest depths of my insides.

Sorry, all. I stop now. After this (of course).

Haven't heard that in quite awhile. Thanks.

I can never understand why John Fogerty isn't at the top of more peoples' lists for lead guitarists. His soloing in CCR is tremendous and highly unique.

I like Fogerty both solo and in CCR, but for pure guitarists you cannot beat Hendrix. Also I really the guy from the band Boston, forget his name right now, but I mean check the guitars in this and try not to tap your feet, fingers or bob your head to it:

Just as a trial mod....
Has anyone tried this eleafworld Pico Temp Control Mod ? For $35 it would be a cheap trial, unless of course the chip is trash to begin with....

add:
I do understand that a batteries only job is to heat a coil to a desired temperature, regardless of what kind of mod the battery is in.

Oh, and just one more thing--for those Kanthal users who think about trying ss wire. Whatever you do, DO NOT dry burn, torch or otherwise overheat your ss coils. SS wire is much more fragile than Kanthal and does not form a protective layer of aluminum oxide.

Clean your wire first (soap and water, ISO alcohol), rinse, dry. To test your build for hot spots, just pulse gently (short pulses) at low wattage (I start at 10W) until the coil glows faintly, barely red. Wick, juice and pulse again to make sure that wicking didn't distort anything, no loops are pinched or touching any metal parts of the atty.

BTW, I do the same for my Kanthal coils nowadays, but it's absolutely critical with ss coils.

I personally haven't had any issues dry burning SS a few times between replacements. Not really long burns, just hitting it dry a few times to burn off some gunk. Now Titanium is 100% bad to dry burn due to the toxic and flaky coating it forms.

Then you're doing it right. :D Like I said, short pulses, low wattage, red glow--just enough to check the build or burn off the nasties. All the wires we use (just like PG and VG ;)) have temperature thresholds at which bad things start to happen. That threshold temp is much higher for Kanthal than for ss.

I've read many, many reports about damaged ss coils due to overheating, especially more complex coils like Claptons. Better safe than sorry and all that.

And yes on Ti. Bad idea.
