Dude you are taking way too seriously and personally. My Alcatraz comment wasn't even directed AT you, it was directed at suckers that buy snake oil. I thought that was obvious. I also have a bridge I could sell them. My second reply again was simply what it would take for me to believe. Meaning I don't consider that reviewer trustworthy. I did not think you were trying to influence my beliefs. I don't care if you were. If you believe or not is irrelevant as far as I am concerned. Lighten up, this is supposed to be a fun place.

That was GrimmGreen. And it was a game changer. I also remember all those threads ridiculing Evolv and the entire concept of variable wattage technology as stupid and completely unnecessary--fur was flying everywhere. The more things change, the more they stay the same. *sigh*

Haven't tried any of them but there are some devices out there that claim to do TC on kanthal. Such as this one

Interesting. Just the other day I saw a mod that had TC setting for NiChrome--and it apparently works. I don't know how well it works, but if NC wire can now be used in TC, then why not Kanthal? But I do agree with Cowboy--0.000001 Ω is a short...

In a Clapton the only wire that matters is the inner or core wire.. the outer wire just acts like a heat sink. It is my understanding that you can use kanthal as your outer wire and still use the coil in tc mode, so long as it's built properly and the core is correct for tc.

But something will always make us wonder if we should "upgrade."

And that is a very good thing. Don't forget that your mech, or whatever you're using, was also an upgrade from something, at some point. An inefficient cigalike that couldn't go above 6 watts, on a good day, perhaps? I remember when 5v vaping was considered radical and sub-ohm was literally sub 1Ω (like .9Ω). That was ridiculed and opposed by many, too. Remember what our modders did before the first serious mechs were introduced? Remember flashlight mods? And my all-time favorite, the Altoid mod?

Technology will continue evolving, whether we like it or not. If it didn't, we'd still be living in caves--naked.

Having said that, that whole concept of a piece of cotton wrapped in wire will have to go, eventually. It's so 2006... I'm thinking ceramic evaporation chambers, optimal vaporization temps, juicejet or laser cartridges. Bring it on!

Maybe you could ask Mike and the other DNA experts in their thread--they should know. I'm sorry, I don't have a DNA 200 mod. Sometimes YouTube videos are helpful. Have you watched any?
