You may have missed the fact that gourmet food trucks are a growing trend.
And they are becoming extremely popular.

If you think Gourmet food can be served from a truck, you are mistaken.
I don't care what the marketing or hype claims.

Again, our definitions of "Gourmet Food" are vastly different.

I've used mech mod clones for almost a year now. I'm perfectly happy with those and they keep me off the cigs. I've used authentics that were equally just as nice and sometimes better, but for me I just can't bring myself to cough up that much cash.

I have friends who use authentic mechs for either moral reasons (some people just don't agree with clones) or for bragging rights. Plus some authentics do work better than their clones. Whatever floats their boat.

And I know people that use Provaris and other high end regulated devices. For some, it is all about having one or two really sturdy, reliable devices vs people like me who own 5+ mech mod clones.

We're all different. We have different incomes and different spending habits. Different ways of thinking and different morals. I'm totally fine with owning a clone, some people are not. If someone doesn't mind paying $200 for the authentic, let them. It doesn't hurt you. If they think it is better than the clone, that is their opinion. It may or may not be true. :vapor:

It's not just marketing hype.
There are famous chefs that are venturing into this niche market.

In fact, it's not very "niche" anymore.

I will I will also tell you how corn subsidies keep the price of soda artificially low.

Now your turn

Please show me proof of an industrial complex in america supported by our govt artificially adjusting the worldwide monitary exchange rate,........

China absolutely will not allow inflation to affect the yen. If inflation starts the govt pumps billions of dollars into the banks to force it back down, even if the govt has to go broke to do it, they will this is how they hold their manufacturing and export dominance.

This is NOT capitalism by any means, this is forced dominance

This is why every country hates lending China money

Capitalism is forced dominance. You can hate or love capitalism but it's exploitation at its core. The communists were right about that. The question is whether the goods and services the system of exploitation graces us with are worth enough to us to accept the system of exploitation, and the Western world has answered a resounding "yes" for more than the last century.

Can you expand on that? I think it's an interesting comment.

When I was younger I believed in socialism/communism for the obvious reasons.
Then I learned that people are not equal when it comes to societal contributions, and rewarding those that contribute more makes sense.

It spurs progress, which benefits the entire society.

The question, as always, is how to handle the situation where some of the population contributes less than others.

Capitalism has been around as long as organized society has. Making a good or re-selling goods or services for profit is certainly not exploitation. Of course there are cases of exploitation, but it isn't intrinsic to the capitalist system, but to human nature. If you think exploitation didn't go on in societies living under communism, you haven't studied said history...

I do not care what you think or what hey market to you,
"gourmet food truck" is an oxymoron.

Go to any 5 star/5diamond restaurant and ask the manager what he thinks of gourmet food trucks.
( don't ask the Chef, he'll probably stab you for blasphemy).

No chef spends years in the finest culinary schools and suffers years of apprenticeship under established chefs to work a roach coach.

Don't believe the hype the guy in the roach coach is selling you.
It's not gourmet food.

In some cases you are right but in some places like NY SF and Chicago Where space is at a premium Chef's who attended culinary arts school are opening food trucks and they are not just serving Cheese burgers and corn dogs. They dont have a million dollars or backers to start up so they figured out a way to Make a living doing what they enjoyed.

Besides If your Menu is just 3 or 4 different Items as these food trucks are they dont need the space to prepare like a restaurant dose,

'Gourmet' food is horrible, for the most part. Bone marrow, raw fish, snails, offal.. may be considered gourmet by foodies who think their pallets are special or who want to be trendy, but I wouldn't feed dogs what 'gourmands' eat...

Taste are subjective Asians prove it everyday! I cant even be in the house when my wife is making some of the stuff she likes ;-)

The reality is gourmet is simply what people find tastes good to them, but gourmet eating for the sake of being gourmet or trendy is a joke. Like fake Bohemians...
Come on Steve I bet you like Gourmet Jelly beans ;-)
Fried Squirrel Fried taters N gravy and some heavy sweet cream creamed corn homemade not the godawful caned store bought stuff is a mighty fine meal in my book

I guess this whole discussion, turning to food, brings into question what exactly does "gourmet" mean...
Which is very much on topic when you throw around the "artisan" term.

My favorite food is pizza.
Just like most of the rest of the world.

But I love a good escargot.
And I love Dutch fries.
:)

I swear to god if you say "Hawaiian pizza" is gourmet food.........
