I've also learned from SuperX that cueing the coils can take some patience, starting off with small pulses that don't even start to light up the coils. I've been using a .45 build for about a week, 26ga, 2mm, 8 wraps.
Tonight I rebuilt vector #2, 24ga, 2.5mm, 8 wraps, came in at .35 Ohm, Wow! Thick clouds and a whole new level of flavor.

Step away from it and look at it with fresh eyes tomorrow. Let you sub-conscience sort out all the suggestions and info that was thrown at you tonight.

I tried less cotton and it seems to help. I,tried,to,take up,the entire deck with coil but I only have 26 and 20 (24 on the way) I have dual coil 26 12 wraps at.78 takes forever to light....

ni80 @ 1.5mm? Those dinky diameter coils are a sure cause for a case of the snaps, crackles and pops. Try bumping'em up to a 2.5 mm 9/8 wrap and see what ya get... Should heat quite a bit quicker as well.

Take up the extra space by using longer wicks and tucking them under at the ends...:)

The Vector has such a range with the air flow, I don't see how anybody couldn't get their vape style dialed in. I like flavor(clouds are a plus) and with the ability to open it up or close it down. I may have just gotten lucky with my build (Tom's one trick pony)in it and coil placement first time round but I like this atty and I didn't think I would. I did try it stock at first and the tip was hot, seemed like I was tasting the juice directly, removed the screen and there it was. I have to admit I have the air very dialed down to 2 and sometimes 1 and a half depending on the juice. I did have a bit too much wick (KGD) in it at first, lightened it up some and it's good to go. I am liking it. Manta was good right from the start, but the Vector is working for me too. I like it.

I've thrown a lot of builds at the Vector too and find that the legs often glow, I think the reason is the legs are long when trying to position the coils under or right next to the air holes. Larger ID/closer to the posts are both helpful things for me.

That said, my dual parallel 28g build is chuckin. The flavor is easily Derringer level, easily. And the clouds, not that I care, are well beyond the Derringer. IMO after experiencing this, the Vector shines around .3 ohms - and I mean, it shines baby. For Sloth anyway.

I truly don't like working with parallel though, or twisted wire at all anymore - looking forward to trying some 24g. I think that will be my Vector's wire of choice, and diameter 2.5. When my 24g comes in I'm replicating Alawot's build. Should rock about as much as my dual parallel 28g except I imagine it will light slower and cool down slower. Yeah,,I must say this is my first parallel build and it's unreal in that sense. The thing lights almost as quickly as though I were running dual 4 wrap 28g - fast.

For me, the whole thing with the Vector was the tip. I hated it, and couldn't get past it. If the Vector took a standard 510 drip tip, I'd probably have 3 or 4 of them. But I just couldn't deal with that mouthpiece.
I had no issues with the build. I built it about the same as the Rogue.

Out of curiosity - because it is SS and gets hot, or because it's stubby and wide bore?

I am a little concerned when I swap to 24g how hot it will get. My ramp up/cool down is so quick with the parallel dual build that the atty doesn't get hot, at all - chain vaping. That will change with 24g x.x

I love the tip though. As much or more than any tip I've used.

The tip on mine cooled as soon as I took the screen out, do I like the look, feel, not really, but it's working. I forgot to add my build is a candy a** .4 so maybe that's it. Hopefully Tbevs top will allow a regular tip to fit. It appears that may be possible, but the top/tip he is showing looks to be press fit. He'll chime in at some point.

Why would you do such a thing? Rinsing should suffice. I have never disassembled an atty to clean it. The likely hood of braking the v1 center pin is pretty high to be honest. My revision 2 is much stronger. I actually had to tighten mine down today and I worked beautifully. What serial number?

115 is the serial.

For me, it was both. I don't like metal tips in general, and on the Vector, the diameter is too large. My favorite drip tips are usually acrylic, glass, or tru-stone, and about 10 or 11 mm diameter.

That's one of the first 5 that I did. It has a m3 pin necked down to m2.5 and a single drain hole. The new series starting with the 20 I shipped to Facebook people last week and my micro are done just like the Vector with the deck bored and threaded for m3. Much stronger much more drainage, easy squonking. I still advise not dismantling to clean however.

If you want me to update to the current method I will, and run it through the the ultrasonic cleaner for a fresh start. Just pay shipping and I will do it.

My thoughts on the coiling of the Vector: I will never understand why people insist on putting a bunch of fancy bends in your coils. Keep your legs straight and let the coil end up where it lands. If you use caddy corner opposing locations for duals your coils will come out 180 degrees apart. Don't over think it. Snazzy looking builds with saddles, offsets, and kicks to make the coil land dead center of the positive post add more wire than you need. I assure you nobody is judging how square your coils are. Keep it simple.

The beauty of the Nectar is it doesn't leave room for fancy coils, wire it up exactly like a kayfun (3.1, lite, lite+, Russian) and it's perfect. IMO the vector leaves too much room for interpretation. Keep it simple.

I might take you up after I get another one. I have fell in love with it now if I can get a few heavy hitting bottom fed mods then I can switch it up

I was under the impression that you travelled out there and hand picked these attys for us. All over the world. Especially Antwerp. Like Tom Shane. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed.

Oh, boy. Escaped convicted murderers possibly sighted at a rail yard about 7 miles from my house.

Bears & convicts. Cue the banjo music. I think I'll go vape some N.E.T. and sip some bourbon.
Nothing is more annoying to me than the media coverage of their escape. I live an hour from their prison and people are flipping the heck out around here. I'm personally more afraid of the hillbillys with guns running around looking for them to collect the $100,000 reward.

ETA and "possibly sighted" I guarantee you it's not them. They've said that a million times up here. The funniest: "The police THINK they have them cornered in a swamp." Nope. Two drunk farmers.
