Feel the same way, think more of dogs than most people, my dog is always there with a happy face.
Ain't that the truth I lost my best friend Dallas last year April 1, I had to put him down he could barely walk and was miserable (golden ret/shepherd mix) hardest thing I have ever done miss him everyday.

I'm really diggin my Stumpy. The only problem is that I keep wanting to call it "Stampy"...like the elephant from that Simpsons episode.

The king of all atties for me is the Veritas. I have quite a few of them. I have been squonking for a few months and would love a BF Veritas. I know Chowderhead has a couple. How high up is the feeder hole? Is it set to leave a little puddle to take advantage of the anti leak design or is it at the bottom to suck the extra juice back down?

Thanks y'all [emoji4]

Atty3 ain't no slouch either. [emoji4]Dual 26g dialed in at .461 ohms produces a nice vape on the gator Woody. Ocd may get the best of me and black out the letters tho. LOL

I've got a Stumpy coming! Well, once Legend is feeling better :) I think it's going to be an excellent TC atty!

Ok I need a crash course on temp control stuff. Have never looked into because I'm happy with where my vaping is but I am curious. I always thought it was something you used with TC regulated mods.

Temp control can be used with any atty. Some just seem to work better than others to me. I like regulated mods simply because they maintain a consistent voltage to the coil throughout the life of the battery. Temp control is just a refinement of this process. In very simple terms the TC limits the amount of power going to the coil when the wick becomes dry. Theoretically eliminating dry hits.

On the second and third revision I held the squonk hole up 4mm from the deck I do the same with the Marquis. If you love the veritas the natural next step is the BF Marquis. I currently have clones of both with an authentic run of Marquis coming up again. I do have a demo authentic veritas as well.

Thanks nauti[emoji4] Sounds simple enough. So, would I build my coils the same way to produce the same resistance? Example: 8 wraps x 2 of kanthal on two 14g blunt needles gives me around .49 ohms. Thats my go to build. And what kind of wire is best? I have seen that some of the wire is fidly and fragile.

No Mommabird, you would have to use a different type of wire other than Kanthal at the moment. Most use either Nickle 200 or Titanium Grade 1. Of course you need a mod that can do TC. When using Ni 200, because the resistance is so low, you will probably shoot for a coil anywhere from 0.065 to 0.175 ohms and that will require quite a few wraps. I think the last coil I did with Ni 200 was 10 wraps of 28ga and that gave me around 0.15 ohms.

Me toooooooooo

Sorry, I should have added a description. It's a single vertical coil; can't remember how many wraps, but I used a 5/32nds punch with no spacing, 30ga Ni200 wire reading around .22Ω.

What's weird is the wick...inside the coil is a 400 SS mesh "chimney" wrapped in ramie fiber. When I squonk, juice not only spreads across the bottom of the well, it travels up the chimney to saturate the top of the wick. The setup makes for a really short squonk time; any more than a second of squonking and it's flooded.

That ramie loop at the bottom is just there to draw juice to the wick when take a vape, since I pretty much hold my GDNA at a 45º angle.

I hope I've explained it well enough to be understood. I do vertical coils because I have more ramie than I know what to do with and I find it wicks better when the strands are straight. Typical of me, I've made a simple process way too difficult, LOL.

Ok so the TC wire cannot be used on mechs? Sorry about the questions, just trying understand it. I'm so used to using my standard kanthal and have never really studied up on the other. [emoji6]

As mentioned you need Nickel or titanium wire and a mod with temperature control.
Also don't go using nickel or titanium wire with a mod that does not have temperature control.
Use the steam engine site to check on wraps for resistance.
I got a TMOD sx350j mod on order because so far that chips seems to be the best , though now many companies are pulling them out of the woodwork but that one still seems to be the best from people who use it.

Mommabird, I have 2 TC mods that are going to go up for sale soon because like Wolfenstark, I'm getting a TC TMod soon. One is the Hana V4 (with resistance lock) and the other is an Invader Mini. I might be willing to let you use the Invader Mini to try out TC if you like. Of course you have to use it with a tank..... I have a tank you can use with it also. I will even rebuild with Ni and send it to you. :)
