Mommabird, I have 2 TC mods that are going to go up for sale soon because like Wolfenstark, I'm getting a TC TMod soon. One is the Hana V4 (with resistance lock) and the other is an Invader Mini. I might be willing to let you use the Invader Mini to try out TC if you like. Of course you have to use it with a tank..... I have a tank you can use with it also. I will even rebuild with Ni and send it to you. :)

Thanks for the offer James! Thats sweet. Like you, if I were to get one it would be the TMod TC [emoji6]

Thanks nauti[emoji4] Sounds simple enough. So, would I build my coils the same way to produce the same resistance? Example: 8 wraps x 2 of kanthal on two 14g blunt needles gives me around .49 ohms. Thats my go to build. And what kind of wire is best? I have seen that some of the wire is fidly and fragile.

their is some nickel(I think) wire that's a bit easier to work with,it costs more but the coils don't messup when ya sneeze at them from what a friend of mine said anyways.if you need more info lmk and ill get ya in touch with someone that's WAY more qualified then me.he does some kanthal mixed with ni200 and all kindsa crazy stuuf.Dante's Inferno is his nic.but im not sure if he lurks on ecf anymore or not.ive been lookin into the TP mods too, just to get an idea how to build with them.goodluck!!

It is tempered Ni 200 that is easier to work with. Lightning Vapes now carries it.

Got it! Glad you clarified that for me wolf [emoji4]Now I understand. How about the nichrome wire?

Cant use that either.
Theres some mod not released yet that they say can use kanthal for temp control.

Haven't heard or followed it since that video and last i read many people are sceptical.

I got some nickel wire 28g & 30g to try.
Some nichrome 80 on its way to see if I can get a couple more wraps for same resistance I like on mod or same wraps and maybe get a bit more time out of the battery before vape diminishes.

Mommabird, Nichrome will be very similar to Kanthal. Like someone suggested just use the Steam coil wrapping software to figure out how many wraps you need.

Thanks! I have that steamcoil bookmarked on my phone and have used it. But lately, I pretty much use the same build and do some twisted here and there.

You want to get tempered wire, it's easier to work with. I think this is what you were referring too

I gotta ask, because I have never done it, what is the benefit to twisted wire?
Many (myself totally included) experience a boost in flavor. I don't use it much if at all anymore, but it does kick some serious flavor.

In my opinion, because of the larger surface area available, the flavor it produces as well as vapor quantity, is better. I've used 24, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30. For me, 24 and 26 are alright but the ramp up time is quite pronounced. I can take 2 strands of 28, twisted, and it's actually larger than 26, but seems to heat way faster. My favorite is 3 strands of 30, twisted. It's actually larger than a single 26, but produces so much better flavor and ramps up a whole lot faster, too.

Thanks Paul. I may have to try the triple twisted 30. I have some that I never use anymore, so it may be a good reuse. Now to find videos of how to twist wire. I know that it usually involves a drill...LOL.

It's quick and easy. My favorite method is the tesla twister but all you really need is the drill chuck and a paperclip or couple pieces of plankton or what not.
