Meh, I'm completely underwhelmed with this build in TC. Even threw it on my SMY 60TC mini to verify it's not a DNA40 thing. I guess I've been vaping K1 too long. I've got some Ti I can try with a contact coil if I get inspired later.

What temp do you have it set to?

Thanks, I'll do that tomorrow & see how it goes. I was in a rush to build it since we had company. Maybe I can get it running a little better with some tweaking.

@penguiness running anywhere between 450-520, I usually run TC on my other mods around 450.

distorto is right. I keep the top of my coils just slightly lower than the top of the posts. As you can see here, there is lots of room for air under the coil. I don't raise or lower it, this is what height it sits at with the drill bit inserted and laying across the atty. Although this one is Ni200 for TC, I do the same thing for my Kanthal builds on the Stumpy.

Edit: this particular build is 2 strands of 30g Ni200 on a 2.8mm drill bit. I normally do 3.0mm ID for Kanthal on the Stumpy

Peng has it down. Here is yet another angle of coil height in the Stumpy. (3mm) Dual or single, side mounted or centered, note that the coil is mounted center height between the posts. The top of the coil should be just below the top of the posts and the bottom just above the rim of the well. This way when you drop the top cap into place, the intakes line up perfectly and directly to the side of the coil every time.

im about to try ni200 on the Stumpy this weekend. Any preference b/t a side mounted or center mounted for TC? Also do you close off one side when u run this side mount?

Both work very well. Yes, close off one side for side mount. Don't know what your preference is, but I run mine 3 holes for side mount and 1.5-2 holes open on both sides for center mount between 25-30w and 430-450 degrees.

I just built a Kanthal coil for my first Squonk mod... It's vaping like a champ! I've been using TC and titanium G1, for it's obvious (to me) health benefits, it being a medically accepted "pure" metal..I'm so psyched to get a Catfish Stumpy for my squonk mod. I've been using a Stumpy clone for a few mos. The question is... Do any of you use Ti G1 with your mech mods?
I realize that there is an issue with over heating Ti as far as creating titanium oxide, as I understand it that is only created around 3200 deg F. I'm sure that you experienced Vaporers will have opinions and knowledge of such an endeavor.. I hope this isn't on the wrong forum, If it's not a relavent subject matter please forgive me?
