i don't have much luck with the ce3s on my x2 650's auto or manual,they give a burnt taste after a few vapes.
so i mainly use them with my 78mm's.

That's funny. I don't taste a difference on an X2 or on a 78, both autos by the way. I guess taste can be that subjective, who knows. I am going to try the Nano one more time. I don't know that I'll use Everclear on them, that is just too much to waste on a Nano! If that doesn't do it, I give up. I've already wasted a days worth of liquid trying to get them to work.
when I get a burnt taste on the CEs it's almost always because I try to hit it too soon not letting it pull enough liquid back in and bubble out ... just relax and give it a second.... I have 8 going right now 2 for each of my flavors... ry4 - grape - vanilla - Spearmint
I do 70/30 and fill them up every day or so in the evening I only ever get a minor leak when they get to like 30 % but it's managable

I didn't either until I started using the latest batch I ordered a few weeks ago. Before that I was using mostly my origional ones from that other company.
From reading threads in their forum, there does seem to be some inconsistancies and they are coming out with a newer version that has a redesigned base / coil cup. Some on that forum have suggested that the hight that the coil sits from the bottom of the coil housing has an impact too. I don't know if that's impacting the coil's heat or causing a flow problemdue to a more radical bend in the whicks. I do notice that my "burner's" coil is set low. I may try to raise the coil on my "burner" to see if that helps, but in most likelyhood I'll end up breaking the connection when I try to pry it up.

The Nano didn't work for me (burnt taste) so I ordered my first batch of CE3's today. So I should clean them first, right out of the box? I don't have any vodka and I doubt Budweiser would work, so how 'bout just good old scalding hot water?
Just hot water will work fine, in fact luke warm will do the trick as well to get the primer out. Try to make sure you run some down the air tube to get the wicks as well. You'll see a small stream of water come out of the bottom when water is run into the air tube. No need to remove the air tube to clean them the first time and dry burning is also optional. I just vape the heck out of them until they start to produce vapor.
I didn't clean mine first..............All I did was put it on a manual bat (this can be done with an auto too) and burn the primer off. You don't need to go nuts with it, just a couple of short button pushes. You want to do enough to get the primer out of the wicks but not so much that you torch the wicks.
You could use them without doing this but you will get a primer taste (that isnt good) for about 10 puffs. Personally, I just take the silicone tip off the end, pull the silicone seal out and wash them out in hot water to clean them after a use (or a juice change) and then do the step above until the water is dried out.
Watch some videos though. There are a few things you want to make sure you do before using them such as: adding juice upside down, taking the needle out before turning it right side up..........Mr. Outlaw has some good videos on the subject.

How do you remove the seal with a paper clip?
I would think it would be too fat and damage the fill hole, but I never tried it.
I have used a paperclip and the syringe. I always bend the syringe up trying to get it out...............If anyone has a better suggestion that doesnt include removing the tube, I would love to hear it. I have been trying to come up with a better way.

I remove the tube and push the end-cap out when I do a major clean and dry burn. For a "standard clean" I fill a syringe with vodka and squirt it into the fully assembled CE3 and plunger it a few times.
I use a syringe/needle to remove the inner seal. I just put the needle in until just the tip, blunt or course, is inside, then use a twisting levering motion to sort of unscrew it as Ilift it. It helps if the seal itselft is wet with either water or liquid. Once in a while the needle will bend a little, but nothing serious.
I thought the same, but like drummer I kept bending the syringe tip and my fingers are too big and fat. If you take a regular paper clip the diameter are close to be the same. I have been using it since they came out. I haven't busted a seal but have changed paper clips because I have bent them getting the seals out. I was sure one time I was going to rip through the seal with the amount of strength I use to get the seals out.
I keep remembering someone said to use 20 gauge needles for these. Those are much thicker than the ones that come with it. I bought some different blunts with a DIY purchase. The needle I have now is longer (yay! i can reach the bottom of bottles). I think it is a 14 gauge one. I haven't tried the 20 gauge yet. I may buy some more ce3 and then sacrifice one with a test.
I have never damage the fill hole using a regular sized paper clip. Also I am never gentle with anything. I yank the suckers out. i am more afraid of scratching a hole in the tube than hurting the seal at this point. After a month, I am pleased. Most of the time I can see the "flap" still above the travel line through the seal. No leaks other than if I drag hard or I don't realize the battery is dead and I take a big hit.
I tried the plunger thing but it was a bit of a pain in the a*& and it took longer than what I have been doing. With the ones that I have, water would just shoot through and didnt really seem like it was cleaning anything...........I don't do the refills because getting the juice to come down off the coils didnt work right for me and that was frustrating. So, I vape them down to the bottom. I have little tricks to stop them from gurgling and when I change a juice, I take the seal out, wash them out and then dry burn them to dry the water off the wicks. I saw a tip that said putting the silicone seal back in wet works better and with the leaking issues I have had, this is helping.

Have you tried to refill without drawing the liquid down. I never do. Of course you need to do it upside down.

If you want to get the liquid down just flick it like a fever thermometer with the battery end down. No muss, no fuss, unless you're like me and flick harder than you're holding it. They do fly around a bit when that happens.
This is my first time trying the ce3 bottom coil cartos - I like that I don't have to drip every time I want to vape. The only thing is, the flavor of my juice doesn't always come through... haven't really gotten a burnt taste - but when I puff & notice the flavor has decreased, I just set aside for a few seconds & try again. I'm a chain vapor, so this happens a lot because I'm not giving it enough time to soak in more juice. Aside from that, I love that there's no leaking!!! one of my biggest annoyances was having juice run down my pv (most of the time my drip shield took care of that problem - but still would have to remove the shield from time to time and clean out the accumulated liquid that built up)
Haven't tried the nano's yet... but for now I'll stick with these ce3 a bit longer.
