Sitting down, facing forward.
These things are so finicky. I can be vaping along innocently minding my own business and all of a sudden, gurgle and boom. Mouthful of juice.

I don't get it. I can refill a few times and all's great and then refill one and blammo. Leaking like banshee.

Love these things when they work but it's like black magic to keep them from betraying you.

I suspect you are a victim of stress cracks in the clear tube or barrel. You can check that by holding them horizontally under a strong light source and rotating them slowly. The cracks, if they are cracked, will show up very plainly. That can be cured with clear nail polish, or a colored nail polish if you like, or with clear tape. If there are any cracks what happens is that just a tiny amount of air can seep in through them which disturbs the pressure differential inside the CE3 causing everything from gurgling to outright leaking depending on how badly they are cracked.

I love my CE3's and i hope they keep making them forever. i use mine on an X2.
Sometimes i get gurgling and in order to stop the leaking which would follow, i just turn the whole x2/ce3 upside down (as though filling it with a syringe) and then vape until the excess liquid is used out and the battery/drip shield/coil cup don't have any more excess. then it's back to normal. Works like a charm and stops the leak from developing.

Hard to follow these ce3 advice threads...someone should consolidate all this info : )

I've just taken my last leaker, painted the bottom with a thin layer of clear nail polish (I did see what could have been cracks, but also sort of just looked like scratches?), re-filled it after sucking out as much air as possible per that vid with Mr. Outlaw, and so far so good. I'll report back after it gets to that sort of halfway point where it started to leak.

I really want it to work...I've told it so, so hopefully it will obey me.

Cool, man. I will definitely try that. So far I have a love/hate with these. I'm totally in love and then they crap the bed on me.

About the only thing that causes leaking in these is air seeping in either through cracks in the tube or the fill hole. If sealing those cracks don't work you most likely have a top seal / fill hole issue.

Let's hope that sealing those cracks did the trick.

One other thing to do is cover the measurements on the syringe with clear nail polish as well. My syringe wore out before my first CE3 did. Well still waiting on the first one to wear out.

2 I cracked.

So whats been working for me is a pretty simple maintenance thing. Whenever I notice that the draw on one of my CE3's is starting to thin out I've noticed its because the battery post has collected a drop of juice. This seems to be enough to kill the performance. So i've been periodically wiping the top of the post with something and then putting it back together, it seems to work fine after that while using it before it will drip again.

I think drip is a better term for what these do, not leak. As when mine are attached I will find a drop on the battery post but thats all. This usually occurs when the fluid level drops to half.

Right..so yeah, that's the exact problem I was having. A little less than half empty, the ce3 would start to drip/drop/leak juice on the battery and I would start to get juice in my mouth.

Anyway, so the nail polish has worked on this ce3. Just about empty and no leakage from either end, at all. Very happy, thanks Awsum and everyone. Carry on!

Nail polish eh? Anyone have any pictures of the cracks?

If I can get my decent camera to work, kind of questionable for mechanical reasons, I'll try and get some photos for you. Unfortunately, the one tube I had that was really cracked, and therefor a great illustration, I threw out when I was cleaning my desk the other day.

Anyone know what to do when... I get a pull off one fine but then even after waiting and tapping no air bubble and nex pull is def burnt

That can be a factor of how "thick" the liquid you are using is. If that's a problem on multiple CE3s when using the same liquid, it probably is a little on the thick side for the smaller wicks and wick holes to be able to work efficiently. It might be fixable by lifting the air tube very slughtly to increase the size of the hole for the wicks or, alternately, carefully trimming the wicks themselved a tiny bit shorter the next time you dis-assemble it for a full cleaning. Incidentally, if you've burned the wicks through those dry hits, you'll always get a burnt flavor from that one.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warrantee or guarantee is expressed or implied.

it's my first time with the CE3's and at first i threw one out because i thought it was defective. but after some experimenting, cleaning, and experimenting again, i finally started getting a handle on it and understanding what was happening.
i THINK that when i am vaping too hard too much, the air hole closes due to expanding metal and the vacuum seal gets pressure stressed from the inhaling. once i let the setup cool for a few moments whenever it got warm, then voila, haven't had a major leak since.

P.S.:- for clarity i'm using it on an x2 with a cone. it looks great but sometimes when i feel resistance on the draw i just slacken the cone and cap a turn or two.

Interesting theory. That's a whole new one on me. I think it might be related to wicking issues rather than overheat though. It doesn't take a really big airway to proivide enough air for vaping and the metal probably can't expand that much, even if it got red hot. I haven't actually checked the size carefully, but it is at least a sixteenth of an inch. Make that one eigth inch from an eyeball/ruler standpoint. Mine get pretty warm, especially when chain vaping, but never seem to lose output becasue of it or leak afterwards. Leaking is a good indicator of loss of seal, either from cracks or a torn filler hole, though.
