I do have some part of the top coil contact with cotton wick... maybe i should position more cotton wick on top of the coil?
Yeah, I had GCS (glowing coil syndrome) when I left the top exposed. I make a cotton strip. I tuck the front part under the cotton base. I place the other side in between two posts. I then use tweezers to press the cotton down on the coil. Soak it with juice well, so it forms nicely.Hmm. I'm trying to put some cotton on the coil but I can't seem to secure it and have it contact the coil. Anyone else doing this?
I just did this build on my Trident, and it is nuts.
I need to go get me some 0nic 100%VG juice now to see just how much clouds this setup can churn out.
I just re-wicked it with really light thin cotton and kept the stock holes as they arethat's incredible! what was your tweak?
also interesting observation about swapping out fill hole and wick hole, can't wait to try this. So are you saying the stock fill hole is too small to avoid getting juice plugged?
you got a pic of your setup? I got the coil done pretty much but just couldnt get the cotton bed/wick to work well....
used a 7wrap coil, it burns the cotton wick dry so fast, but it gives great flavor
used a 10wrap coil, doesnt burn the cotton as fast but less flavor
what should i do?
Good looking 'tol! Vape on!!!iTEO, I have to thank you again.
I just tried rebuilding again applying your concepts on the "nano dragon." Built it on an Octopus RD A (modified, with a 2.5mm airhole positions exactly in front of the coil and the stock one blocked), used 28awg kanthal, wrapped around the smallest hex screw I have (the one for the ERA). I didn't count the number of wraps, but it metered at 1.2 ohms.
Least to say, this is the best 1.2 ohm build I've ever vaped on, and it beats my .8 ohm microcoils and doubled-over microcoils. The cotton positioning, made so that the openings of the coil can have airflow (to let the dragon breathe, of course), also made it possible for me to use more cotton and more juice to wet it with, meaning I need not drip as often as before.
@jozef-3d: Push you coil more into the cotton bed. Don't be afraid if it cover both ends, cotton is easy to move the cotton to the side so you will have an opening.
@iz2sick: I'm really bad at doing how to videos, trust me I've tried it beforejust follow and read the thread as quite a few folks now have had success. They too can help you set things up. I have an old k100 beater that still works, it's a good entry level mech to say the least

you have a bigger coil with bigger hole... wrap your entire coil in cotton without covering the holes as that's where the air passes through and atomizes you juice. let me know the resultam I on the right track?
I used 28g wire 7 wraps on a t-pin... the coil heats up pretty quick and dry up the cotton wick pretty fast hence a burnt taste?

Wonderful! glad you sorted it out. If you have another atty, try a single coil with same resistance and compareYo teo I just want to say thank you. I did this on my helios had a issue with how high
The coils are but I made it work with it and wow stepped my vape game up. Currently
Running 0.7 dual coil it has the wow factor lol thanks
