yeah rick i am loving this beauty, you know when you are charging the batts ? is it a case of red led turning to green when fully charged.the reason i ask is that one set of my spares just flashes red all the time, although they do work ok.and the others just go from red to green when fully charged ???

Don't know if the op's original question was answered, but here goes. This unit appears to have a step-down regulator, or buck regulator, meaning that i it takes the volts from 2 18350's (7.4) and drops it to between 3 and 6. 1 18650 only puts out 3.7 volts (average) so it may not provide enough current to powter the regulator. Hard to say, but that's what it appears to be. Sorry for spelling, stupid phone.

When you are choosing a mod, look for a single battery mod for the safety factor. 18650 IMR batteries are great and don't go into thermal meltdown like Li-ion.

Pretty much any ecig from China is a throwaway if it quits working for any reason. If you buy one made in the USA it will come with a warranty and stateside repair, usually at reasonable prices. If you can get something that is cheap and good, that's fine. You can toss it and buy another later on.

Check out types and specs here. Use "browse by features" to narrow the search to those that fit the criteria.

Hey, Ter. Don't sweat it. I went for a Bolt for my 1st mod, it's a chinese knock-off of a SB. If it works for you and fits your budget that's all that matters. Btw, I shop at vaporbreak too. Got my 1st phoenix there. Shipping takes a while but good service overall and you can't beat the pricing. I wouldn't worry too much on using regular 510 atties on it, just keep an eye on your voltage. It's also called a VeriStack from other companies so if you can find amp ratings for those that might give you an idea of it's capabilities. You can always chat with them there but from my experience alot gets lost in translation. Sorry if i'm repeating all this for you and hope it helps.

Hey rick, just got another question for you buddy,is there any way to lock the voltage buttons or not.It is no big deal but i thought i read somewhere that holding the + - buttons down for 5 seconds locks the device at what you have it set at.
I have tried this and it doesn`t work,as i said it is no biggie, just curious mate.

No, no lock on this one, just very simple.
