The thermometer says 32 right now but I suspect there is some radiational heating going on at the sensor. The sun is out and there's hardly any wind for a change. Time to take Bo for a walk.
Hey, Terry, how'd did your heating system check-out go? Find any problems?
Rave, how far away is Terry from you? And what did you have for dinner? Stay tuned...![]()
Terry must drive fast. It takes me an hour and fifteen minutes to reach her place when I drive.
Dinner was Long John Silvers, and waaaay too much of it!I love when Hubby brings home dinner!
Happy Valentines Day!
Thanks for the compliments on my first foray into activism, VoltvilliansI'm so glad I showed up for the meeting.
We are decadently having lobster tails [small $4.99] each and steak with mushrooms, baked potatoes and asparagus and cheesecake for dessert. We also got a second steak for Sunday's dinner, frozen onion rings and tater tots plus a few supplies for the house. Such a deal. Two days of fancy eating for less than the cost of eating one dinner out.

Good friends are earned Terry, so you must've had something to do with that.![]()
Vapers. We're all on China time now!![]()
Mornin...
I spilled a whole cup of coffee on me and my probook.
Did 3 hour surgeries and some burn cream on me to get things going, only thing not working properly now is the fingerprint sensor which is my main login system.
Fin valentines day.
Oh! I found some nice pics on faceboob.
Yeah Tritium, those photos really do prove the Greece isn't all that great.....NOT!!!!! Those beaches look "terrible" especially being that crowded.
'moanin, Voltatics.
Sandy did get the advantages of coming south for warmer weather. They predicted lows around five to ten but it was a balmy 18 at six this morning. The cloud cover helped keep it warm and those clouds are supposed to produce snow squalls with whiteout conditions this afternoon so she'll feel a little more at home.
I discovered a disadvantage to metal drip tips. I was walking Bo at noon yesterday and it was about 20 outside with gusts around 20 or 30mph. I took a hit off my VTR and felt the drip tip actually freeze to my lip. Shades of "A Christmas Story".
OMG, so beautiful...I must make it to Greece some day.
It's pretty darn cold when your drip tip is freezing onto your lip. Probably safer not to vape when it is that cold out. Usually I have my face wrapped in a scarf when it is so cold so I couldn't vape.
Uncle says I must be here so here I is.
Into time...
I'm a geek nerd (currently Chromecasting old Star Trek episodes to my TV with my phone while writing this on my tablet and tracking a Facebook contest on my laptop) self-employed broom maker, small acreage farmer (sheep and angora goats and llama and alpacas and dairy goats and chickens and dogs and cats and a horse and mice because our cats are lazy), artist and web/graphic designer.
Eclectic much?
I started vaping seriously (not counting the OTC cigalikes 2 years ago) 82 days ago. Or is that 83? I started in earnest this time to keep a promise I made to myself after I lost my father to lung cancer and other ailments on October 27, 2014. Since that time, I've converted 2 smokers and steered one lapsing vaper back on to the straight and narrow... go me!
Uncle also suggested I post pics of my work...

A painted selfie, anyone?
Hope I haven't hijacked the thread too much.
And thanks, Uncle!

It doesn't bother me to go in the crawlspace now with it cold but you won't catch me going in there during the summer. I hate snakes!
Sorry I've been absent. Aside from the weekend, I'm embarking on a woodworking project. I bought a table saw this weekend to replace the one that the young folks have hijacked so that they can work on their home building. The saw was left to my son in my late husband's will anyhow along with most of the tools, so I've been building my own impressive collection. I've been working on a riser for my end table in the bedroom that will hold two of my surveillance monitors that display from four cameras, telephone, tissue box, clock, etc. It'll basically look this this: (Drawn in SketchUp)
My phone isn't that style, but it is an old fashioned wood cradle phone. That thing in the front is a lazy Susan PV holder that I built for my dear old Leo PV's. The center cube is to hold the bottles to refill them.
Well, my BF fixed the furnace. They crawled underneath the house and found all kinds of HUGE holes that are letting cold air in the house and disrupting the airflow big time. He and I are going back this coming weekend to patch up all of the holes and see if we can't improve things 100% for her.
What Rave said.
There is also a huge gaping hole around the plumbing pipes for my garden tub. When I took the panel off the side of the tub I was hit in the face with a blast of cold air. That's why I've been freezing my ars off all the time. I stuffed some towels in the hole for now and resealed the 2 panel doors and it is not quite so cold in there but it needs to be done properly.
There were a couple of surprises under that tub. Tons of mouse turds and a large snake skin. 8-oIt doesn't bother me to go in the crawlspace now with it cold but you won't catch me going in there during the summer. I hate snakes!

It's amazing what you can do in sketch up. I can't wait to see this when it's done.
They even brought lunch for all of us. Have I said how lucky I am?![]()
Just a lil ole 5' black snake.
I can teach ya. Whadaya say we have a first lesson next time you come to visit me?
Works both ways.![]()

I'm glad the problem has been found, Terry. It's been too darn cold to have a malfunctioning heating system. A little duct tape, so insulation, some spray in foam and you'll be a lot better off!

And all the time and energy spent cutting wood, bringing it inside, and keeping the fireplace fueled.![]()
The next emoticon just doesn't even approximate exhaustion, but I put it in anyway.

I keep hearing that I've broken my hands for nothing
but in my defense, I didn't know there were so many holes in the insulation. You might be better off getting some sheet metal, cut pieces from a new piece of duct, as needed and pop rivet the in place fist, then seal with tape and insulation. That assumes they're not the "soft duct", of course.
