Good morning, Voltinians.

I have a rousing day of weeding, minor projects and taking a break to go to an estate sale planned. The weather should be fairly warm at around 80 degrees.

My gardening buddy should be coming over to plant tomatoes.

After that, a long lunch before I start all over again!

What are your exciting/not so exciting plans for the weekend? I've got a lot of things that I need to get done.
#1 I've got surveillance wiring that needs for connections shrink-tubed after two audio connections have been fixed.

#2 I have to set up a tent in my living room to see if it's large enough for my future DIL to hide in until she's ready to walk down the path to be wed.

#3 My BF bought me a wet saw, so we're going to do the whole hearth thang. Wellll, we will set the porcelain tile in the adhesive with the little spacer thingers, but I'll have to wait to grout it 72 hours later. He's never done any tile work before, so he's eager to learn. It's easy squeezey except for fitting tiles around odd areas (like bath fixtures). I'm eager to watch him use the wet saw because I'm a little intimidated by it. Not for long though. ;)

#4 We are going to test paint some boards that I removed from the deck and replaced to see if this fence paint that I picked up will be good for painting the deck. We dipped a stick in it a few months back and it remained too tacky. I wanna try it on the same material that I'm fixin' to paint.

#5 The front deck is a scattered firewood wreck after last winter. The firewood needs to be re-stacked neatly and some things that are currently on the deck need to be stored away. We have to pretty up the place for the upcoming wedding. That's not until June 27, but there's a lot to be accomplished before then.

#6 We'll also run a few things through his planer that he brought up. Terry will appreciate that. Hi Terry! :)

#7 We need to somehow manage to get my lawn tractor out of the very back of our shed. It's blocked by two motorcycles, I think. That's only if he's taking his dump trailer back down South after the weekend. If he is, we gotta load that tractor on there and tie it down.

#8 Most important of all - Morel hunting!! Maybe ... we should do that first!

Sitting down, facing forward.
Rave, a wet saw is pretty safe, the water keeps things from getting too hot and binding. It doesn't cut as fast as a circular saw in wood, more like the speed of a saber saw cutting a 2x4 with a fine blade. Just keep even, slow, pressure and you're good to go. I've never used a diamond saw for tile, but think it's probably pretty close to the same technique.

I spent the morning paying bills and such. Now, after I walk Bo, it's off to the post orifice, Lowes, Sears and Tractor Supply. After I get back, more raking and yard clean-up. Somehow this year, it seems like I can't get it all done. It's either that or the gnomes are putting more leaves and twigs back in the yard every night.

This weekend we are planning on finishing the yard work, well the bulk of it anyway. That's enough to keep us both busy for the next two days with no problem. I guess I am getting a little older, the constant raking is making me sleep really well but making my arms and shoulders a little sore, LOL.

I'm always a little trepidatious with a new power tool, but then I go crazy with 'em. More power!!!

Yep, I have an entire list of stuff to be done this weekend. I have 4 days to get 'er done. Today, other than a bit of weeding. I am relaxing.

Also, I got some small dishes cheap at the senior center store. I'm going to make oriole jelly feeders. They came back today and demanded that I feed them. I haven't done jelly feeders before so we shall see how they like them. Maybe they will leave the hummingbird feeders alone if they have their own thing going on.

You definitely have a lot on your plate, Raven. Good to get things going on the wedding. June 27th will be here before you know it.

Awsum, more yard clean is on my list, too.

I don't think cleaning the yard is ever actually completed, Lizzie. Something else always seems to come up.

I just got back from my shopping trip and, as usual, Sears let me down and ripped me off. No oil filter for the tractor. I've got to go get everything out of the Jeep and put it away. One of the "side projects" is making a fenced area for the mulch pile to keep it off the cedar fence and keep it from spreading, randomly, with the wind. Before I do that I have a stump to eliminate, aged mulch to distribute and dispose of the flotsam and jetsam that ended up in the mulch pile then turn over the existing mulch pile before I add more to it. Yard work never does really end.

It never ends in a yard-not either, but it isn't nearly as bad. Let the leaves lie where they may. It's the fallen trees, leaves in the gutters, and keeping the forest from eating my home alive that keeps me busy.

Crikeys. I just found out that the drug that I take for my MS now costs $74,892 a year. :?: Is there any doubt that the pharmaceutical companies are making a ridiculous profit? Why are there no regulations to hold them back from this nonsense? :grr:

Okay ... retreating to my corner now --->

The oral chemo DW takes isn't much better. I bout fainted when I saw the cost of the whole year's treatment with the radiation and infused chemo. Then there's all the side meds....

But the alternatives are much worse. My insurance paid $250 for a shingles shot. Scared that if I were to get shingles that vision problems might result. As much as I lip-read, that would be bad news. Without my glasses and HA's I have to get up close.

Good morning, Voltmaniacs.

Yes, it is early. I took yesterday off except for a bit of weeding/clean up in the back bed. I need to hit the ground running this morning. Lots to do and less time to do it.

The tomatoes are going in today. My gardening buddy and I voted that we were tired yesterday. Peppers should be going in too. I have lots of zinnias and tall marigolds to plant, as well. So far, the weather is looking good for planting.

I need to get the garden chicken wire gate a "handle" so we can close it.

The dogs are getting into the veggie garden area. I need to figure out how and fix it.

Of course, more weeding.

I have a miscellaneous list of other items that I can do if I have the time and energy.

Doing some housework would be good but, so far, I'm happy to be keeping up on the kitchen.

PLEASE NOTE:

The quoted post below has just been posted by ECF Administration/Moderators elsewhere and I thought I would also post it here as an FYI and especially so NO ONE gets into trouble . . .

I need to throw a reminder in here about Signatures

Just because the system will let you put something in doesn't mean you can...the Rules still apply :)

Add to that, I just got confirmed specs for avatars: 200x200pixels, 30kb max.
<<-- The actual size of the avi in posts is a lot smaller, but the avi in the member card popup is that big. If you make it smaller, it won't fill the space in the member card...like mine doesn't.

...and my signature links to SI's site (a registered forum supplier), which I also confirmed is A-OK. ;)
