Good plan seeing I am afraid of heights

Uh-oh! You'll be in a state of anxiety for a good part of the way. See if you can figure out how to get over that fear, or you won't be able to enjoy the trip. The most precipitous parts are in Marin County, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, so I'd recommend leaving Rt. 1 for 101 till you get out of the scary spots, unless that's not north of Pt. Reyes. I forget just where along he coast that is. All I remember is driving along a road that was full of dangerous curves high above the sea just north of SF.

So wonderful and wild Terry.

I'm kind of hoping since I am not driving that I will not get too anxious about the heights. We shall see. I've always wanted to do the Pacific coast so I'm game anyway.

We definitely want to see the big trees. Also, we were going to do the Skunk train but they seem to have a problem with the first tunnel out of Fort Bragg so you have to drive inland to Willets to take the train. We are thinking we might skip the train and just have a couple of great restaurant meals on our way up the coast.

We are camping and taking easy to eat foods like smoked salmon, cheeses, fruits, fancy crackers and such.

Yeah, Highway 1 is scary in both directions. I used to have to take that route going to Santa Cruz and I thought I was gonna die every time.:laugh: For some reason it didn't seem all that well maintained either (haven't been that way in a long time though). You'd think it would be by now, with all the times they've had to rebuild parts of it.

Hey guys, I want to show you what I had done to 3 of my mods. This is something new that Phiniac.com is doing. You'll notice one very special mod. :)

First up - Coolfire 4 with matching Phiniac tank (same birds on mod & tank) and anodized titanium end caps. The feathers and birds on the coolfire look white but they are actually the color of the metal under the paint.

Next is a special custom design. In case you can't read it, it says "from my best friend & sis" on one side and her name on the other. :)

Last but not least the appropriate Tribal Bike. The white specks are glitter or sparkle in the powder coating. The 2 above mods have a clear powder coating also but without the sparkle.

I remember that, going from Pacifica to Half Moon Bay on the bus for a job. With a bus putting you so much higher, it's sort of scary, too, but not as much as those curving roads just north of SF.

Wow, you are so talented, Terry.

I just love the style of your motifs.

I can't take credit for the feather or the bike. Just the one with RAVEN on it and I copied that off the internet but thank you anyway. :D The other 2 I chose from Phiniac's pattern library.

I know something about Willets. Too bad you don't plan on going there!

It must be rough to learn how to turn on the heat (LOL)... Think about the folks that live in the northern areas that have never needed AC and now are getting hit with 100+. No heat - you can add a couple of blankets, but there is a limit of how many layers of skin you can remove (LOL)...

Wuzz, I got out my violin for your cold spells, a toothpick and three hairs that fell out.
I lived in Passaic County N.J. for 8 years and spent a year at Cape May in the early 60s but the coldest I've ever been in my life was in Jacksonville, Fl near the river. Thank goodness it just doesn't last as long here.

I wonder if "We" were ever neighbors . . . ;)

Actually, "My" Family lived almost all over the Northern part of New Jersey (Yes- "We" moved a lot - A REAL LOT) and I have a number of relatives who still do live in NJ . . . Lets see here, some of the places I've lived in during "My" Youth (so in alphabetic order): Cherry Lake; Hackensack; Lake Hiawatha; Lake Parsippany; Lambertville; Madison; Manville; Menlo Park; Newark; North Arlington/Kearny; Stanhope; Stillwater; Paramus; Parsippany (before it became Parsippany-Troy Hills); Passaic and Whippany too . . . YEP - Sure was a lot and all before I turned 20 Years old . . . The thing is - those are not the only places I've lived (at least over 6 months) either . . . HEY- I actually sat down once to record all the times I had moved during "My" Life and came to the realization that I actually moved 11 more times then the years I was alive and only once did I ever live in the same House/Apartment for longer then 5 years . . .

Corner of Pompton and Rockaway about a block from the Passaic River. Other side was Garret Mtn. From the top you could see the NY skyline. Grandparents lived on Whippany Ave about two blocks off Mc Bride. We left there in 1953 to move back to Fl.

Mama & Fawns.jpg

I saw these 3 this morning walking across my front yard. I didn't have time to get a pic. This afternoon they came back through my back clearing along with 4 turkeys, 2 adults and 2 baby's. I can't tell you how excited I was to see my mama doe again. I saw her several times a month or 2 ago and could tell she was PG and probably with twins. I'm so happy that she came back to show them to me. I feel like that screamin lady .gif.
