'afternoon, Voltaticalytesizens.
We had two days of wind and cold, temps only getting into the low 20's during the day, after a dusting of snow Wednesday night/Thursday morning. This morning it was still cold, upper 20's and more dusting of snow...which turned to sleet...which turned to freezing rain...which turned to rain but has stopped for now. It supposed to warm up, overnight, and get into the low 60's tomorrow but we're supposed to get a lot more rain. The sun just came out while I'm typing this, probably only temporary.
We took Leo to have a look at another training school. This one is run by a former K9 police officer and police K9 trainer, so the orientation is a little different. A few things stand out though. They include first aid and CPR training as part of their puppy program. The obedience training is a lifetime thing, come as often as you want, even daily if you want it, for the life of the dog. They also guarantee results like being able to walk off leash, safely (not that we would necessarily do that on a regular basis). They are more expensive, but their program seems to be more extensive/comprehensive and the lead trainer has "been there, done that" with every breed you can imagine, up to bomb sniffing, personal protection, guard training and all the stuff besides that. He's had dogs place #2 in National Police Dog competition so he can't be bad at what he does.
On the way home, after driving there
through slush covered roads, the temperature was above freezing and the slush was, basically, all gone especially on the highways. We saw a State Highway Department truck spreading
salt on a wet only road in the rain. Our tax dollars hardly work.
