Well if you wanna talk spelling...pero means "but." Perro means "dog." Ahora means "now," but ahorra means "save." You roll your Rs just a little too long and you completely change the meaning. Luckily it doesn't turn into a bad word. Cansado means sleepy/tired/irritable (like sick and tired of it all), but not so much lazy.

My favorites: "¡Iman, Iman! ¿Donde está Iman?" (from Spanish 101), "¡Ay, que lástima!" and "¡Cheverre!" ...expressions that my Hispanic friends tease me about ("haha you talk like my grandma!" "laugh:).

You obviously know more Spanish than I remember, Cindy.

Thank you, everyone, for the awesome day.

Y'all have been the "therapy" that I have needed for a while now. Some of the best parts of my day are when I come to ECF, and Voltville in particular. I will post my thanks individually to the best of my ability and if I forget someone, I'm truly sorry.

Rave, Thank you for being my first friend here (besides Imagine). I love your critter tales and trail cam clips. You sure can crack me up with your quick wit.

Sandy, Thank you for your tutoring reports (they never get old) and Penny stories. You always seem to have a video for every occasion which is pretty cool and I love your photos. Superb!

Terry, thank you for always cracking me up! You really brought a ray of sunshine here! Your art is amazing and I really enjoy your drawings! Awesome.:toast:

Lizzie, Your horsie tales are so funny and cute! And I like all the yardwork stories, though sometimes I think you work too hard.:D
That and sometimes you make me really hungry when you talk about the food you eat!

Awsum, Thank you for all your techno knowledge you share. I never know when I'll need to use it. I'm already repairing fans and space heaters. I also rebuilt a dead bolt! My future father in law showed me how.:)

Cindy, I love hearing about all your repair stories. You truly are the right one to be fixin' up that house. you go girl!:D

0, marlou, catlady, JoAnn(where are you?), Jerry, Lis, and Deb it's always a delight to hear from y'all.

Even though I might be lurking I still visit this page first! Y'all rock!

Well said celtic. :toast:

So sweet, Celtic. I do work too hard but this spring has been the easiest ever so far. Yay!!!! Your puppy avi is sooo cute. What an adorable little guy. Glad you had a good party.

Raven, I hope your wrist and thumb will be better soon. You poor little thing.

Terri - Good party!!!

Lis, Jer - Nice to see you here at the party.

SandySu - Looks like tutoring is going well still. Hope you have fun at the play.

I was thinking about how nice it is to vape instead of smoke. I vape in bed every night while I read a book. I rarely smoked at night in bed reading.

The horses are nose fencing. Wiseguy and Nevada line up head to head facing each other. Then one or the other curls their lip to show their teeth. Then they alternate showing teeth and stabbing them at one another. Sometimes they take off running and chase one another. There is some bucking and nipping going on.

Yesterday they even reared up. They looked like a couple of wild mustangs. Fortunately, nothing too serious going on out there. They are waiting for me to feed them. So cute...Nevada likes to look in the windows to see if I am moving around.

I got all the laundry done yesterday and I cleaned the bathroom and I vacuumed. No weeding, no pen cleaning, no outdoor work at all. Wait, I did have to work on the water system for the north side of the yard but it wasn't too bad of a job. It was kind of nice to stay inside and rest up.

Today, I am going to take some irises t some different peeps around the neighborhood, hang out on the couch and take the trash out to the street. I really should see if any of our peas, carrots, lettuce or rads are coming up. I have a few more raspberries to transplant.

I was a little rushed getting this photo, but here's a herd of six deer grazing across the street at the back of my neighbors yard this evening. They were about 400 feet from me.

You have neighborhood deer, too, I see. And that looks like a nice forest they can retreat to. How extensive is it? Who owns it? Can you walk in there? It looks like a nice place to take a walk if there are paths.

    Good morning, peeps.

That is a lot of deer, Awsum.

    The magnolias are beautiful, SandySu.

How you doing, Raven. Hope you are getting over the hump on your tramatic shots experience.

I mostly rested up yesterday. I have a cleaning job today and then, for the weekend, lots to do:)

That bad huh? :( Any reaction?

Raven, I'm so sorry it was bad. I'm sending vibes that it'll start feeling a lot better very soon. Are you up to recounting all the gory details?

Oh goodness! Poor Rave! Sending good thoughts her way. Why in the heck would he jerk her thumb? I never heard of a doctor using ether nowadays. Feel better soon Rave!

    Hiya Peeps!

I'm back to typing again, but I've gotta rest my left wrist on my knee to do so. That may be a little tough to envision how I do that, but I assume strange positions at my desk.

Guess I should explain what happened on Wednesday. Doc didn't so much "jerk" my thumb, he just rotated it all around and around like he was winding a Jack-In-The-Box. It sounded a bit like a rock tumbler when he did that. He said that I have virtually no cartilage left in that thumb. What he was doing was searching for just the right entry point for the needle. That thing was scary-big!! Then he marked the point of entry and sprayed my thumb with the ether until it was ice cold. I recognized the smell from previous surgeries and he confirmed that it was ether. I didn't even feel the needle go in, but I sure felt it inside.

He did the same with my wrist, but he couldn't go in from the underside in the carpal tunnel where it hurts when I lift anything. It's too dangerous with all of the blood vessels and nerve bundles. He had to go in where the knot is on the outside of the upper wrist as it meets the hand between the bones to get the carpal tunnel area. He did the same thing. Wound my hand up on the wrist, marked the spot, sprayed with ether, and then injected.

My biggest problem was the ether. I was so stoned from the fumes that my BF almost had to carry me down to the car. I was nearly sick for most of the hour and a half drive home and kept my eyes closed much of the time. I was being inundated by sharp stabbing pains and that nasty hive of bees.

Later, the entire area swelled up alarmingly and I couldn't move anything so I just put on a sling and didn't move it. Up until this morning, I was still woozy from that derned ether. I have bad reactions to drugs. I'd asked what supplements would be beneficial in trying to rebuild cartilage and the bones that are deteriorating. He recommended glucosamine/chondroitine, Vitamin D3, and Calcium Citrate. Those have now become part of my plethora of daily supplements and meds.

But, I can type now and move it fairly well. Lifting or twisting anything is out of the question, but I can get along without that for now. I have high hopes but I know that I'll never repeat that procedure!

I understood it like Terry, but doesn't matter, cuz I think we should ALL meet in person...AT RAVE'S HOUSE!:lol:

Not out of the question. Just sayin'. :D

Really nice shot!! :) But, I'm so jealous!! I haven't seen a deer since the last hunting season except on my trail cameras and surveillance systems. They're really spooked around here. Hopefully, they'll get more courage with the new growth of cover this spring ... if it ever arrives!!
