That is sweet, Wuzz. Just make sure you wear a hot in the sun since you could get a major sunburn on that bald head:)

Glad your wife is doing better.

Thanx Lizzie and Awsum. My head will tan up pretty quick but thanks for the warning. I'll probably be wearing mostly do rags for comfort and they stay on better than hats when I'm wrestling gators and slappin bears around lol. Besides, I can match my rag to my shirt. Bandanas are cheap so I can change several times a day and throw them in the dirty laundry.

I didn't tutor today. The boy has a cold. In fact, I think I've been fighting it off for a few days, too.

So instead, I went down to Watkins Glen to see what the Gorge Trail might be like, when it'll open. They're saying mid-May. I want to take the kids there to see it when it opens. But now, here's the message:

On my drive down there and back, I saw a yard in the neighborhood with crocuses blooming! The first I've seen.

So when I got home, I took a walk past the place to get the photo of them.

Just a little farther is a place I've wanted to look into:

How could I not, since it's near my house? So I walked up the drive. No one was there, but there were 5 horses. Here's one.

While I was there, people arrived, and I talked to the man. I wondered if they boarded horses. They just moved the horses there, and he said he and his wife had talked about it -- maybe in a year or so … Anyway, I gave him my name and phone number. It certainly would be close to home! I could walk there on a nice day, though I'd probably drive. But the chances are slim that they'll decide to board, still have my phone number, etc. Still, I just had to check out a place in my neighborhood that said "stables."

Then I decided, since I had my camera, to walk over to see the new lambs. A man in the neighborhood has sheep, and I had seen new lambs while driving by. I wanted to get some pictures.

Then the man came out to give the sheep their dinner, and he posed with a lamb for me.

He took me to another place where there were 2 babies just 2 days old.

So that's how I spent my afternoon instead of tutoring.

Wow, Zero, that sure doesn't feel like spring in your area.

A lunar eclipse, SandySu, how cool is that?

Yesterday was beautiful here. We got a fair amount of work done. Hubby got the spark plug wires onto my truck. The spark plugs wires were chewed up when we bought the truck, presumably by rodents. He got new spark plugs into his little car on Saturday. He also got a new fence post put up in the back corner of the fence where the termites had eaten one of the posts.

We worked on the water feature a little. We are going to try it with a little bigger trough. The 2x6 with 2x4s on the sides is over flowing just a bit when we but one on top of the other for a cascade effect. The water looks awesome falling from one trough into the other trough and the sound the water creates is great!!!!

We got the greenhouse fenced off. Willie was jumping onto the front of the greenhouse and then into the veggie garden. We were worried she might manage to jump onto the glas and then there might be a doggie disaster.

While the fencing was open at that end, I transplanted a buffalo berry that was crowding some other plants and a pine tree that was technically too close to the other pine trees. I had one dead pine tree in the side area we are refencing but so I moved the pine tree into that area. Of course, I had to make sure there was water on the new plants and take the water off the plants I took out.

Hubby got the gates to the back yard fixed up with nicer looking wire. I had tacked big pieces of wire up with irrigation tubing to keep the new dogs in the back yard. They were jumping through the middle rail to get out.

All in all a productive weekend although I didn't get Nevada measured for a harness nor did I find any poles for Nevada to drag around the round pen. I still have an incredible list of things to do but I will just have to do the best I can:) I only have so much to give.

You and hubby got a lot done! You never cease to amaze me.

When I helped a friend train a horse to drive, she used old tires for the horse to drag. If you have some of them, they might work instead of poles.

I think we have an old tire but hubby hasn't made us a single tree yet and I don't have a harness yet so I was going to use poles and tie them on with some string onto the surcingle.

OMG - I just saw the temperature and it is 30 degrees out there. I totally was not expecting it to go so low. Wow, the trees look okay but I hope we don't get a bunch of low temp nights since we have trees leafing out and fruit trees blooming.

Today, tutoring was canceled again because the boy is still sick with a cold.

I got my winter tires taken off, and now it's supposed to snow tomorrow! This is crazy! Tomorrow, the high will be 61 sometime in the morning, and then the temperature will drop to a low of 19! It's started raining already, and that'll turn to snow sometime tomorrow. I'll have to go out to the barn early while temperatures are still high enough that it's rain, groom Penny, and put on a blanket. We'll get up to 3 inches of snow tomorrow, according to the Internet weather forecast. I can only hope I can dry Penny off enough to get a blanket on her. Please send dry-horse and snow-delaying vibes my way.
