If you keep thinking like that, things will keep happening. You have to stay positive and just numbly go through it. Every time something happens, just say "oh well, this is what I gotta do to go fishing with my friend. Let's get it done!" Kind of a hokey, EST-like concept, but affirmations really do work. Be happy you're not dealing with MY crap!

Is this cindy or Rave talking. :p She keeps telling me the same thing but tell me something. I'm positive I'm going to get this house, determined to get this house, but at the same time scared that I might not. Is that being negative?

I couldn't agree more. Frankly, I believe that thinking that bad things will happen can make them actually happen. Thought can become reality - either negative or positive. Yes, of course we need to prepare for unexpected bumps in the road. But that's all that they are: "bumps". If we expect for the bumps to turn into the Himalayas, we just may find ourselves in Nepal. We set our minds to stoically crossing each bump. Say to ourselves "That wasn't so bad", and not allow ourselves to fear the next. It takes time and practice, but becomes automatic after awhile.

If you're positive that you're going to get this house then there is no room for being afraid that you won't. Please, for your own peace of mind, evict that thought every time it tries to enter your mind. Don't give it the power to distress you. It's not like a switch that you can turn on or off, but it is a matter of sheer will. I know that you have will. nodding.gif

Don't worry tm, always think positive, when life gives you lemons, make this face

Good morning all :)

Okay - that was just EXCELLENT!!! rofl.gif

And even if you find yourself in Nepal, welcome it, because it is a learning experience that you can overcome. Read about Nepal, and you will come to understand it. A friend of mine did a mission there, and it was a revelation to him.

Yep, negative. Fear and doubt will knock you over every time, if you let it. Plus, your experience will be a lot more fun if you just put the crap out of your mind, and just do what you have to do like a programmed robot.

OK, rave - we think the same, you just say it way better than I do.

Seriously, with all the crap in my life, I don't know else I could've ever survived. None of it is really all that important in the whole scheme of things, but yeah, it did take me awhile to learn that.

Hiya Volties! We had some bodacious storms yesterday evening and into the night, so I had a front row seat to a great light show and the accompanying kaboom fest. Yay!

Terry, I'm sorry to know that they are throwing extra hoops in front of you, I can imagine you are worn out worrying about it all. Everyone has given you great advice but I'm going to share what I use to get myself through that kind of thing. It takes just a wee bit of practice, but once you decide to make the change, it comes easy. Whenever I find myself falling into the "oh no, what if, it's not going to work, why me, everything sucks" mantra, I visualize a stop sign in my mind. Sometimes it's one of those hand held signs and the guy (of course it's a guy, ;) not bad looking either!) holding it is also holding up his other hand, palm forward, to reinforce STOP. Then I usually tell myself, "geez, get a grip".

I know you will look back at all of this and laugh......someday. Hang in there kiddo, all of Voltville is on your side.

I have to agree with Cindy. Bwhare, you do write wonderfully!

Thanks Q. Now that idea is something I can wrap my head around.
