Trit - I like my feet firmly planted above ground but still on the earth. I would do the boat ride in the cave but I would be glad to be outta there! I would not climb anything higher than a ten foot ladder.

Yeah, poor Hubby does have to keep up with me but I don't have a full time job so he needs to be happy with getting his job done at work and my jobs done when he gets home but not go to the gym unless we are having a slow week around here

We bought some Reebok military boots for him and they helped his feet some but it looks like they have changed the style since his last pair a couple of years ago. They seem a bit cheesier. Then we noticed a seam ripping out on the side. I contacted the Military Boots company and they have gotten back to me promptly asking for a photo. I sent it and we will see what they say. I don't want the same brand again so hopefully they will do an exchange although I understand it will cost me $9 in shipping plus the price difference in the boots.

I already sat down with Hubby and ordered a different pair from New Balance since the RedWings that the job partially pays for are not helping his feet at all. They are lazy at that store. They didn't take anytime to talk to Hubby about what he needed in a boot and the new boots are not helping his feet. He will then have two pair of work boots once we exchange the Reeboks which probably isn't a bad thing. You can't work hard and feel good when your feet are killing you.

My feet were hurting so bad a couple of years ago that I could barely walk. I found out I had bigger feet now so getting a bigger shoe size helped. I also stopped buying cheap shoes and now buy cowboy boots with the best technology available. The same for other styles of shoes.

Rave, I'm no geologist (and don't play one on TV) but if you have a bunch of sinkholes in a line I'd suspect an underground stream/river or even a cave underneath that area. Be careful out there, the bottom could fall out!

There is a small spring that feeds out of the ravine being formed by those sinkholes. There are caves and sinkholes all over the place in this area, but mine seem to be forming very fast. Several years ago my son decided to dig down in the largest one. He at least had enough common sense to wear a high-rated safety harness attached to a strong tree. He made it down about three feet before hitting solid rock. At that point, he ordered a cannon fuse online to blow it open. 8-o He made the mistake of leaving it lying around upstairs, and it came up missing. I never step into the sinkholes and walk gingerly when I'm near them.

It is going to be a lovely day here. I am resting up today and won't be doing much I got a new client and she desperately wants me to clean this week so I will be doing an extra job tomorrow. Since I have a feeling the one client is leaving and that this new client will be very nice and reliable, I agreed to make this happen. That means resting up the muscles so I can make it through an extra cleaning job this week

Fall is in the air but it looks like it will manage to be pretty warm here for the next few days.

Did I tell you guys I got my new wok? We tried it out on the big propane burner and it worked fabulously! Like eating real Chinese restaurant stir fry. I also like that all the grease from frying is outside where it doesn't get on the curtains and counters! We had shrimp with garden veggies.... baby summer squash, green beans, carrots, garlic and onions. We made a light version of Generals' chicken sauce with rice vinegar, honey and soy sauce.

Lizzie, I'm guessing that you're far enough north, or the rain doesn't extend that far north, that you aren't getting inundated with rain like down south.

I saw the flooding on MSN news. We didn't get any of that at all although we got just a bit of rain and thunder up here. That took us by surprise as we didn't seem to have that in the forecast!

We didn't have any rain in the forecast either, but there's a big, spiteful-lookin' mess headed my way. I'm glad that I got a walk in this morning while it was relatively dry. It was nice because it's overcast here. It's easier to see things when it's not so bright and sunny. I spooked a barred owl and watched him fly away absolutely soundlessly. The squirrels are up in the treetops wrestling with hickory and walnuts already. Some of the leaves are dropping, but only a few species are yellowing up: elm, cottonwood, and locust. The rest are still green and lush from the overabundance of rain this summer. Generally everything looks dusty and tired by the beginning of September.

Did any of you see the moon last night? It was breathtaking. It had a misty halo around it here and was so full and bright that its glow flooded my bedroom and woke me up. I had to go out on the deck to enjoy it more. Sorta wished that I'd had a certain someone to share it with.

I said I'd provide some photos of the watering system at the place where Penny now lives. This first photo is of the big holding tanks for collected rainwater. A hose to the garden is connected to the one on the right, and we get water for the barn from the left one. I did notice there were spare hoses near the tanks, so they do have a hose. May I use it? Would washing Penny deplete a whole tank? I don't know. It might.



Here are the hoses running out to the garden. It looks like only flowers are growing there now, though they have a veggie stand out by the road, and there are some things in it. I guess the last of the harvest.

Since I know nothing about watering systems and gardening, I can't explain any of this. Lizzie, what's your take on it? Remember, our climate is a lot different than yours.

Sandy, without close ups of the actual watering devices it's kind of hard to tell what they are doing. Casual observation is that those tanks are at least 600 gallons a piece. If they're full you won't run them out of water unless you drown Penny when washing her, but I'd still check to make sure it's OK to do that.

I can see the drip hose running as a header where the flowers are growing. I can't see if the are using T-tape for the flowers or another kind of irrigation tubing. The average hose uses 150 gallons per hour. I would check with the folks to see if the water was alright to use for the horses. I have no idea if the tanks are full so that is one factor to consider.

We just got back from Bill's doctor's appointment. He has extremely high blood pressure, and they put him on medication. I think they thought it was urgent, and finally, he's taking it seriously! Whew! I'm glad he isn't in denial anymore, but I sure hope he doesn't have a stroke or heart attack, which are apparently immanent if remote possibilities.

Does anyone here have high blood pressure? Is there anything I should know?

Fiance has hbp. He fixed his with a better diet and drinking hibiscus tea (or a tea that has hibiscus and/or rose hips) He also drinks a concoction of 2 tbs of apple cider vinegar, 2 tbs honey and hot water (in a very small tea cup ) should equal to about 8 oz. You can look up other stuff if he is allergic or doesn't like it. Don't forget to mention stuff like that to his doctor.

I am very into herbal remedies... I love that kind of stuff. That is about all I can tell you. Except diet is the most important thing for it.

Sandy, I can't like that one at all. Better diet and, careful, aerobic exercise will usually help, but check with the sawbones regarding exercise/

His blood pressure was 200/110. The doctor seemed to think that was urgent, so it has us concerned.
