Nice to see you back, Rave. Good that you are having lots of good experiences IRL, to ease your pain. Sometimes we tend to get too involved in virtual life, and refuse to venture in IRL. Good that you have Terry and BF to pull you out of it. And the roomba repair business helps, too.

I really can't welcome you back Rave, I am such a lurker these days, it's like I'm not here, lol. But I am, see that shadow, waaaay back over there in the corner? That's me. I don't have a bunch to talk about, but it's nice to check on everyone that was here to welcome me when I started out, and the folks that came in later.

Waves to all the Volties!

Hi, Q!
hi-onion-head-emoticon.gif
Missed you too!

FYI, I've been clicking on your avi from time to time, not in a stalker way or anything :laugh:, just to make sure you're still around. :)

Thanks Everyone. :)

Hey, Rave, since you're so good at Roombas maybe you want to take a stab at the "Hitch Hiker Bot" that got trashed in the "City of Brotherly Love"?
Awsum - I'm thinking that bot is a little beyond the scope of my experience. Just sayin'. LOL
Rave, your picture's upside-down! ::shock:

:laugh: Good to see you here again. I've missed you. :)

Umm ... actually it's not upside down. See all the little stalactites hanging from the ceiling? Those pillars are just often heftier at the bottom than the top. That blue area is lighting pointing up from the floor.

It's ok, I am lurking the rayon thread too, and a few others, so I see you around too. I just can't think of anything to say!:lol:

That's okay Q. It's good to know that you're still there. :)

I was out in the garden, earlier, and counted at least six watermelons coming along. A couple are about eight inches in diameter already. Mrs. Awsum just went out and picked some tomatoes. We got our first ones off the "heirloom" plants. One was well over a pound, I checked on the scale. Sweet and sooooo tomatoey and hardly any seeds. Worth the wait!

Hey, Tritium! How's the melons doing? More importantly, how are you doing? Did you see the plane that will be the largest plane in the world? Two 747 fuselages joined by a single wing with six engines to lift a three stage rocket for launch. Test flights next year.

Yeah, it looks like you need a really wide runway for that thing. Then again, it allows launching a rocket from, basically, anywhere at any time which is a big advantage. I'm surprised they're only using six engines although that's a lot of wind and a lot of lift available. The drag has to be really high but I guess they get enough thrust out of six.

True, but they'd get indigestion from the hydraulic fluid. I don't know, launch facilities like Cape Canaveral cost a bundle as well, compared to that it's cheap, pus you can send more into orbit, saves fuel from liftoff to say about 40,000 feet. Add in being able to achieve odd orbits without additional maneuvering fuel compared to "traditional" launches along or close to the equator.
