What's wrong with hospitals? I've visited a few of them in the states they seemed to be very nice.

I hope all goes well for you rave :)

They gave her narcotics in the hospital for the pain when she told them she can't take narcotics. It messed her up real bad. :grr:

Hiya Gorgeous! ;-)

Okay. Here's the deal: They analyzed the results of my thoracic and cervical MRI's. Apparently what's killin' me is a spinal infection. It's either bacterial or fungal. Thank goodness it's not viral. I'd just have to ride that out. They made an emergency appointment for me with a specialist for today for testing to find out just what bug I have. No doubt they will have to dose me with antibiotics. I'm hoping that they can be oral rather than IV. Don't wanna go back in the hospital. It's not fun there. But - I'm not having fun here either. The pain is now shooting down my right arm and left thigh. It's possible that I will have to have a spinal tap. That would also have to be done at a hospital. I'm going to pack a bag just in case. So many unknowns ...

Anyhow - please wish me luck, my friends.
Good luck! I am still praying and thinking of you :) I am glad they have some answers to what is causing the pain and issues! Now, I hope they get ya fixed up quickly without having to use an IV!

'moanin, Volties.

At least there seems to be progress, Rave. If they can figure out exactly what "bug" you have it should be able to be treated and eliminated. Good luck at the specialists and, hopefully, another stay in the hospital won't be needed. Hang tough!

Hospitals can look pretty nice when you visit, but when you stay there it's a whole other thing. Nurse Starch waking you up to ask you if you're sleep or waking you multiple times to give meds then telling you you're not sleeping well. Then there's what is referred to, laughingly, as "food". Add in Dr. de Sade telling you "you're going to feel a pinch". Hospitals are wonderful, not! Now, add in that medical care used to be exactly that, medical CARE. Now it's turned into a commodity, like pork bellies or soy beans.

Wuzz, you have a bodacious day, too. We've got three feet of sunshine here today with temps going into the 70's.

Thanks Tritium. :)

Hospitals in the states (in my opinion) have somewhere gone from "Above all, do no harm." to "Above all, squeeze every dime out of the patient that you can." When my late husband was in the ICU, they kept him knocked out so that they could perform every test possible and give every narcotic or chemotherapy possible. He was on a ventilator and unconscious so that I was unable to communicate with him. Every day when I went in to see him I was told that he was doing much better. Until the day before his insurance ran out. Then I was told that there was no hope and perhaps he should be allowed to go. They milked him for money. It's all about money these days.

Teaching hospitals are the worst. The doctors are stretched so thin that they really don't have time to give each patient the time that they need for an accurate diagnosis. Plus, since they are spread so thin, they don't have much to fear from repercussions. I fired the doctor that overdosed me. Chances are, he never even got a slap on the hand. In fact, I am told by my GP that there was absolutely no information on my chart about me going comatose with pinpoint pupils. Those facts were conveniently omitted. Okay, off my soapbox now ...

Raven, hope they figure this out quickly!!!!!! I'll be thinking about you and thinking good thoughts for your recovery. Wow, an infection, geez.

Hi Wuzz and Tritium, nice to see you.

Good morning, Voltpeeps. Still weeding. That is all.

Good morning, Voltpeeps.

Thinking of you, Raven. Hoping you are recovering from your MRI and the doctors are going to help you.

We are driving all the way to Reno so I can buy a hops vine. Yeah, I am a gardening-aholic. I think he said he has wisteria, as well, which I would love a wisteria vine. The bad news about wisteria is I would have to build a pergola and I can't afford to build everything I want to build now so we shall see.

Over the last few days I have been to the hospital to take nine tests. Now I have only to wait for the cultures to "cook" and be analyzed. In the meantime, the pain is getting worse and worse. Without narcotics, only Tylenol can be used. When it becomes more than I can bear, I can take Naproxen. My new doc has me on a broad spectrum oral antibiotic. My daughter and Terry and BF continue to support me completely. Dunno what I'd do without them, frankly. You really learn who is on your side during times like this. @Uncle - I know that I owe you a thank you for whatever is in those two boxes but I've been unable to open them yet. Hopefully today. Also hoping that the bug will be identified today. It has grabbed hold of my left thigh and hip in addition to my right arm. At times I can barely walk. Sorry this is depressing but I'm certain that there will be a positive outcome. It's on the horizon. I just know it.

@Uncle It is troublesome that you haven't been seen around. Hoping you are recovering even if a bit slowly. My thoughts are with you.

Raven - I'm hoping they figure out what the heck is going on. I think you will get better once they do. I'm glad you are staying optimistic. Thanks for the idea for the wisteria.

It is raining here. Gotta love having some rain. I have lots to work on in the garden but I am still weeding. Every time I think I have done a superior job, I see more weeds. I'm resting up this morning since I have a job to do later.

you are still in my prayers Rave :) Once those antibiotics kick in there should be some relief. I am keeping my fingers crossed for sooner than later. Hugs :)

moanin', Voltatics.

Rave, I sure hope that the antibiotics start working sooner rather than later.

I've seen Uncle lurking a bit, every now and then, but no posts. Hmmmmm?

Wuzz, hope you're having a bodacious day and Mrs. Wuzz is doing well.

Tritium, there was an 800 number at the end of the video. Feel free to give them a call and have one delivered to me (at your expense of course), you have my address! Although they're little big to be using in the yard, but what the hey.

Lizzie, wisteria can also be an invasive pest and needs to be controlled. It does look pretty when in bloom though.

Yesterday was like summer here, mid 80's and lots of sun. Then, about three the dark clouds, black actually, moved in and the weather radio went off with a thunderstorm warning. It did rain, pretty hard, but only for about a half hour. By 7:30 last night we were down to 58 degrees. It's only about 50 out now and cloudy. So much for summer. It is spring time and the weather does tend to oscillate a bit until the warm finally wins out.

AWSUM!
I finally found an effective and easy way on your leaf problems.

Wow, now that's a leaf vacuum.

Cash is running in and out the dog door. "I'm playing with Sassy." "I'm hiding from Sassy." I'm out. I'm in. So cute.

@rave I sure hope you get some relief soon! The box is getting a workout lately. Have any of the docs mentioned medical you-know-what, (if that is available in Indiana) or if that might help in your situation?

I hope you are getting well @Uncle more hugs to you, too!

Lizzie, Cash sounds like so much fun, I'm glad you found him.
