Good morning, Voltpeeps.

How you feeling, Trit? Hubby has been home with a cold the last couple of days. Hope you are over your cold.

It was nice to hear from you Uncle. And you, too, Terry. I hope Raven is starting to recover from her fall.

The new bug zapper has been literally covered in gnats every morning. I hope we are getting some mosquitoes, too.

High of 90 today. Looks partly cloudy. We have all the doors and windows open trying to cool the house off. We did run the AC a bit yesterday. I have a neighbor coming over for lunch.

My arms are sore and tired. I hope to rest up a bit today although since Hubby is home with a cold, we might get the water tubes straightened out in the garden and some stuff planted. I haven't been in charge of the garden this year and we are behind so we shall see.

Sitting down, facing forward.
'moanin, Voltalytes.

It's been kind of hot here and there were a few "pop-up" thunderstorms around yesterday, but none dampened our little world. I did feel a few drops at one point, but not enough to even leave a wet spot anywhere. Tomorrow is supposed to have showers nd, maybe, thunderstorm or two and it will be cooling down a bit.

I'm still working on that door project. I wanted to get paint on the jambs and trim yesterday and was on target, until I saw a hole that hadn't been filled. That set everything back so the paint won't go on until today.

Darn, that reminds me. I need to do two more coats of paint on my exterior door trim. And I need to cut and install the inside oak trim.

Can't like that, Lizzie! Wonder if colds can be transmitted digitally?

I got three coats of paint on the door jambs and trim yesterday and I'm ready to mount the new storm door. Unfortunately, it's raining this morning. It may clear off, later, so it may get done today after all.

In the mean time, I've got some tank maintenance to do for Mrs. Awsum and will vacuum and dust since I'm stuck inside. If there's any time left, I'll work on some low tank mods I'm building for both of us. I had an epiphany a few minutes ago about how to get things into the enclosures, extruded aluminum tubes, I bought.

I think i might have sneezed on the computer microphone.

Perhaps.

I knew it, I got this cold from you.

Just teasing, Hubby brought it home with him from California. I've heard it's been going around. I could feel worse but I could feel better.

So far I seem impervious to Tritium's digital cold, knock on wood.

It's a little cool and cloudy here this morning but is supposed to get, at least, partly sunny. That makes today door hanging day. The door is a little on the heavy side but is supposed to be "easy hang", set a temporary screw in the hinge side and "drop" the door onto it with hinge/trim already mounted to the door. We shall see. The last door was a Larson as well and when I took it off it was way heavier than I expected and it sort of had a "controlled" crash because it pulled me off balance when I pulled the last screw. Doing it the way it came off only left me one hand to hold the door while the "easy hang" will allow two hands, so it should be fine.

The door is, finally, a done deal. I will say that things have improved tremendously in the replacement door market. Extensions for the jambs so they actually fit, full length, and an easy way for one person to hang a relatively heavy door. Even installing the lockset has been simplified. They supplied a "clip on", heavy plastic, template that's marked, inside and outside, left hand and right hand, so the holes end up in the right spots. The toughest part was installing the trim that hides the screws on the outside of the jambs and even that wasn't very hard at all.

It did take some time, but no trial and error. Just, basically, hang the door. We're both very happy with how it came out. Looks like it got done just in time, we're supposed to get some "heavy weather" this afternoon.
