Dogs and pets of all kinds do create more laundry!!!!

Good afternoon, Voltmaniacs.

This morning I thought "Is that our dogs barking and barking and barking?" So, I hollered for them. Nothing so I walked out in my bathrobe and hollered. Nothing. I kept walking in my bare feet and bathrobe hollering. Nothing. I muttered "Ther e better be a mountain lion for you guys to be barking like this." I finally got all the way out to the street and said "Is that a skunk?" I got a bit closer and sure enough, there was a skunk on the other side of the road with his tail up and fuzzed out. I saw the neighbor and told him "Grab your puppy. There is a skunk by your gate!!!!" Never seen a skunk around here before.

Not as hot today at 89 degrees but still plenty hot if you ask me. I got a couple of wheel barrel loads out of the horse pen. I played with the horseys a bit. Went and helped my friend with her drip system. Over all, not much accomplished which is fine since I have to work tomorrow and Saturday.
Skunk sprayed doggies are no fun! Thankfully none got sprayed. When mine get sprayed I dab the fur where they got sprayed at with paper towels (i have read that baby wipes work the best) to soak up the oils. Then I put skunk removal on the top of the hair where they were sprayed, and use paper towels or rags to wipe outward to get as much of the oils as possible, and then bath them in skunk removal and shampoo. I hate when they get sprayed by a skunk.....lol

I read the article @Uncle and will pass it on the Rave. Rave has more or less been in remission for several years until she went to that :censored:ing hospital but she is almost back to where she was before she got the flu. The meds she is on has stopped the progression or at least slowed it down and got her out of a wheelchair so I doubt she would want to try an experimental treatment that would totally destroy her immune system if it didn't work. I'm very happy for those 23 people it helped but quite frankly I don't think Rave would qualify for the treatment and I doubt if her insurance would pay for it. We both appreciate you thinking of her and passing along this article. If she can't respond, I'll let you know what she says. She still has seen no progress in her right hand.

Terry, I know it's experimental and, in no way, was advocating for Rave to undergo that kind of treatment. It is a real bright spot and with a little more time may result in a significant treatment with minimal side effects and good outcome. It is encouraging to see progress being made in any event. I hope it encourages her a bit.

I know you weren't and I agree with you totally. Stem cell treatments have done some amazing things. Hopefully they can cure MS someday.

It all depends on what your doing in the photo. There is no privacy left and I have decided that is the way it is.

Glad you had a good time and can't wait for photos.

    'afternoon, Voltatics.

It was nice to hear that Rave is doing better in most respects at least. Thanks, Terry. I hope that right hand starts showing some improvement though.

Being the "creature of habit" that I am, I did the laundry this morning and worked on a mod while that was getting done. Of course, it was nice, sunny, cool and breezy, with low humidity out there this morning. After lunch, I went out to do some work in the yard, get the last bags of mulch put down, do some weeding and maybe take the weed wacker for a walk. Of course, now, it's in the mid 90's with oppressive humidity. It is still sunny and breezy though.

I did get the mulch done, but need another ten bags or so. So much for weeding and weed wacking. Too cottin pickin hot and sticky!

The weather damatists have been talking about a "pulse of energy" moving through, west to east, late this afternoon with T&L and winds up to 70mph or so. I just looked at the local radar and there is nothing all the way out to Iowa. Maybe something will develop as the atmosphere gets unstable from the heat, humidity and wind.

Did you get your high winds, awsum?

SandySu, go on any adventures lately? How are the kids doing? Did the girl ever finish Jungle Book?

Raven, thinking of you and hope your right arm will start improving!

Today is the big day for installing the French doors. Wish me luck.

    'moanin, Voltaticalytes.

The bad weather never materialized, here. It seems to stay well north and wasn't as severe as originally anticipated. It's over 80, and quite humid, already but the humidity is supposed to drop all day but will still stay fairly warm. It is supposed to be windy all day with gusts around 30mph. With all the trees around, we rarely see gusts like that at ground level though.

I guess I'll get those weeds wacked and pulled today.

The efforts on the mod I was working on paid off. I had to modify a battery holder to improve its' conductivity, a DNA75 does need fairly high current. It's working like a charm. Now I've got to build another one for Mrs. Awsum.

Please excuse the interruption in the conversation, but I thought I would post this here . . .

Should have know this might happen given the current temperament of rancor and the racist, sexist, bigoted/prejudicial commentary being thrown around so freely in the recent few months . . . AND - All this during GAY PRIDE MONTH ! ! !

Uncle, I wouldn't jump to conclusions regarding motives until all the facts are known. What I know is that some maniac killed 50 people, not gays, not straights...50 people, for some, at this point, unknown reason. I will leave the speculation to the "experts" that pass themselves off as news reporters and pundits. They will pontificate whatever fits their specific views and goals for shaping opinion. The Fifth Estate and our government are following each other in a circular fashion as they spin down the drain. Does the term "yellow journalism" ring a bell?

I saw a piece on vaping, recently, that said more teens are trying vaping and, of course, vaping has to be heavily regulated to protect the children. The report was based on a survey that asked teenagers if the had taken at least one drag from an e-cig in the last month. It didn't ask if they liked using the e-cig, if they intended to keep using an e-cig, if they tried an e-cig instead of a tobacco cigarette, if they used tobacco cigarettes or what their motivation was for trying an e-cig in the first place. Those questions would not "fit" the story the "news" wanted to get out. As I remember my teenage years, granted a long time ago, I experimented with a lot of things, trying them once or twice, but not maintaining the majority as habits.

I've learned not to rush to any judgement during the early hours of any terrible event, especially given the current state of "journalism". Allowing the emotions generated in reaction to a terrible event to override the facts never leads to anything good. I'm waiting to see what develops before assessing blame to any specific catalyst.
