Geography of NE Kansas is massively different from Western Kansas. Illinois should be two states-- Chicago metromonster, and downstate.

Kind of like NJ, "progressive" North Jersey and "conservative" South Jersey. Different geography as well with hills in the north and relatively flat pine barrens in the south, not to mention the beaches in the south.

Good morning. It's bright and sunny here with a bit of warmth but we expect massive storms and -11C temps (12F) the next few days with wind.

We're in the 40's and raining for the last two days. It's supposed to get cold on Thursday and stay that way for a while, four or five days, with high temps in the 30's.
We're both still struggling with the cold/flu. I feel a bit better today, but still am very tired. I've got to run out for a little while, later, but nothing particularly strenuous at least. Mrs. Awsum took the day off to rest a bit as well.

Wiseguy looks like any other pet that likes to have fun, Lizzie.
It has turned into a terrible year for us, already. My sister went into the hospital on Monday afternoon and it didn't go well. I was at my daughters making the arrangements for her and Mrs. Awsum called to tell me that her cousin, who she was very close to, passed as well. This weekend will be tough to get through for us. Ironically, they were both named Linda.
