I'd probably check the breaker anyway. Or try something else I know works in the socket. Sometimes the light may function from a backup battery that saves settings. Wish it had worked for ya. Laundry piling up or going to the laundromat (do they still even have those?) isn't any fun. Hope it's an inexpensive fix when the guy gets there.

I tried something else in the same socket: a little lamp I have. It worked. Thanks for the suggestion. I really think it's going to depend on the repairman to fix it.

Yes, there are 2 Laundromats in town. I may have to resort to one, if Bill will run out of clean clothes before it gets fixed. I'm hoping we can hold out.

I went for a walk in the woods today... found three different types of tracks in the remaining snow(dogs excluded;)) Deer Rabbit and one I am confused about. Hopefully Rave can help. I'll mention it by the photo.

What I believe is an incredibly large doe with a fawn... Or a buck with an incredibly small doe:facepalm:

Celtic, I'd vote for a doe and fawn. I bet Rave could answer better, since she has so many deer around her house. Not that we don't, but I haven't paid much attention to their tracks.

Today, there was a rather large group running back & forth outside my window. I wonder what had them stirred up. They ran in one direction, then turned and all ran the other way. I didn't see anything in pursuit.

Oh, I see you added another photo. Again, I don't know the difference between the tracks of a raccoon or an opossum. Maybe the Internet might shed some light.

I'm exhausted. I got back from cleaning a house about two hours ago. I laid on the couch for an hour and then had some coffee and did the afternoon chores. Hubby drove his old Chevy truck today because it might snow. It didn't but he is also picking up some elm from the people that we helped last weekend. He won't be home until late!!!! Maybe I'll make myself dinner without him. Just left over burger patties on fresh home made buns and maybe some rice-a-roni on the side. I'll come up with a veggie. I like the idea of baby carrots.

Oh wow, Sandy! It's gorgeous! I wanna go there!

Taughannock Falls is about 3 miles from my house. I could walk there, though I drive and then walk. It's a very deep gorge, and you can walk along the upper rims or through the gorge to the falls. This was taken from the bottom, walking up the gorge. The trail is very easy, nearly all flat, and it's wide and has gravel to minimize mud, so people in wheelchairs or with baby strollers can get to the falls here.

The rim trails are rougher, but along one side, there's a parking area and you can view the falls from above from a stone platform down some stone stairs.

The falls are the highest east of the Mississippi, even higher than Niagara Falls. It's a neat place to go, and I have photos of the falls in all seasons and from both above and below. I'll post more shots, since I guess the newer people haven't seen them.

At that viewing area on the rim, one day when I was there, there was the most fun-loving, jolly group of people! They must have just come from visiting the wineries. Their spirit was so vivacious and happy, I just had to catch them on film and save the memory. It's not often you see a bunch of strangers you immediately fall in love with.

I love how flat angular the rocks are.

The rocks are shale, which is slate, but not compressed enough to be slate. It's a sedimentary rock, in layers because it was once at the bottom of a sea, which covered this part of the country. There are lots of fossils to be found in this shale, and it's crumbly, so it's fairly easy to extract them.

Because shale is so crumbly, it's not good for rock climbing, so you don't see people scaling the sides of the gorges.

But shale is where natural gas collects, and this area is in danger of having hydrofracking. There are lots of people against it, and it's a big political issue here at the moment. I'm against it. I think the dangers of pollution aren't worth it.
