1st link with the regular atty seemed just as bad as the 2nd link with the LR.....what am I missing? And then I see Elendil in the co op for LR attys.....I'm more confused:confused:

right?....the first one also touches on the LR atties too...
like I said I think it mostly comes down to taking an informed risk... yeah it could present a problem...knowing that well dammit the LR still vapes nicer than a regular one...

my solution would be to find someplace with a nice long warranty on their eGo batteries and vape away...if it dies...well it's warrantied...

I forgot this thread originally too http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/joye-510/65055-battery-voltages-surprise-23.html
starting at post 227 .....

Drozd you said it best when you said "knowing that well dammit the LR still vapes nicer than a regular one" and in the end that's where I'm at with things.....I start suddenly blowing batts.....well I'll prolly change my stance:D
I figure I buy couple extra batts a year at $15-20 WTH......darn well worth it. :toast: boB

exactly....
if you have a battery blow...and you put the same atty on another battery and it blows....just stop there... there's no call for 3 or 4 in a row...and for christ sakes why you didn't meter it after the first blew...well....come on

and my eGo batteries have 6 month warranties on them....if they blow *shrug* I got a new one in about 3 days...

but if I only had the one battery and no back up....I'd be slightly more worried about using a LR on it... and that's all I'm saying....know there's a risk, don't put yourself in a possible bad situation

I think a meter is a necessity for every vaper.......I don't get vapor 1st step for me is put a meter on the atty see what's up. boB

Uh ha, thats assuming you know what to do with it ROFL

lol...it's pretty basic... get even a cheap one...
turn the dial where it has the Ω symbol to 200 (they typically have settings for 200, 2K, 20K etc)
touch the probes together....remember the # (idealey they should 0 out but usually they don't)

tick one probe in the hole in the bottom of the atty....the other against the threads (i just use the breather hole in the side)

subtract the earlier # (touching the probes) from the # when touching the atty.... that's your resistance....

meters can be had for like $4 from places like harbor freight

I splurged and got mine from walmart for $18 Walmart.com: Digital Multimeter - 10709: Auto Electronics

same thing checking batteries with it...turn dial to the battery section (9V) and touch probes to both ends of battery... there's your voltage...

easy peasy

You talking to me M?:glare: The bride or the meter?:D Heck aint nothing to checking resistance. Only mistake people make is you have to touch the probes and if it gives you a number subtract that from the reading. Red probe to the center of the atty black to the thread.....not for certain that matters drozd? My meter reads .6 when I touch the probes, so when an atty reads 2.1 the resistance is 1.5 ohms. boB

mine reads the same no matter which probe you touch where on the atty...as long as one is on the center post and one is on the threads *shrug*

we were all in turn hold the probe thingies one day.
The guys said I didnt transmit electricity hardly at all,
I'll have to dig it out and play with it . If that is the right thing LOL
I am so electrical stupid!

They try explain watts and volts to me and my eyes glaze over LOL It dont compute for me .

Yeah that's what I was thinking.....just wasn't sure I always out of habit just go red to center.....I admit to knowing little when it comes to this stuff.
