Lifco, are you thinking of cleaning NEW atomisers? Don't they have a factory prime? You would clean that out. I thought if they weren't working from new it wasn't because they needed cleaning, they can't be gunked up yet

No sorry i was talking about my old ones, i smoke quite a bit and go tho atomisers like 1 every 2 months,
So if i can clean my own it would save me buying ones iam trying to sell
One thing i can say, if i use e juice my atomiser seem to lasts longer
I don't think I'd boil a bling, Kate. In the past, I've used isoprophyl alcohol to clean my e-cigar. Then I boiled it. Oops. There's a plastic lining inside the battery part of the cigar body, and that got hot enough to warp. Today, I tried pulling out that plastic part using needle-noise pliers. Could not budge it. Kept working on it. No luck. So I forced the battery back in, twisting and pushing. Finally I poked it all the way down and put on the lid.
Ohmigosh.
The thing turned on without a cartridge in place. And wouldn't turn off! It literally blistered my finger where I was holding it. Keystone Kops time: I was shaking the cigar, banging it against a countertop, anything to get that battery off its contact. Finally did. Pulled the battery out with pliers. And put the e-cigar to rest again, until I feel like sawing it up to access the atomizer itself for some experiments.

Got my new steamer today, from Amazon, now I can't find those dead atomizers lol.

After trying all the posted methods for cleaning the atomizer I tried the steaming method.
Gave them a good blast from both end for about 2 mins. The heat generated by the steam means they are almost dry but to be safe gave them about 5 mins with a hairdrier, put them in my e-cig and are as good as new.

Well one of my atomisers died from my black 901, as I don't have a steamer but do have an espresso machine (previously mentioned) with a steamer bit on the side to froth up the milk I thought I would try that. Well it worked great, loads of gunk came out, let it dry and now works like new Bit too heavy to lift to clean the windows though !!

How long are most of you blasting for, do you do both ends, and do you do each just once, or repeat?
One method I know is removing the cartridge from the atomizer, then blowing on the battery (on the side of the Led). You will see that the atomizer produces steam. Continue to do this for some 10 seconds so that the atomizer cleans itself. If the atomizer is not functioning properly, there may be too much liquid in it. If that is the case, you should wipe it dry. Make sure also that no strands stick out.
Hi leaford, I did it for about 10 seconds into the cart end and then a couple of seconds from the battery end then another 10 seconds into the cart end again. Had to hold it with pliers as it got very hot
Have also done one of my pen atomisers, as was really impressed and this is also good as new, you never know it may bring back your dead jc atomisers? Good luck.I blast for as short a time as possible. It depends on the degree of muck though. I go for short blasts until there is no residue on the paper towel I clean them on. Usually that's about two quick blasts, done from either end.
After that the wick seems very dry so I drip about two drops on the atomiser directly & top my carts.
I've emailed the seller to sort it out so hopefully it will be sorted soon.

Yay, I finally found a steam cleaner. I've been trapsing all over creation, Wallmart, Kmart, DrugMart, Macy's...looking for a steam cleaner. I finally found one at Big Lots. It's white and kinda looks like a teapot. It says "Euroflex Italian Company." Its name is "Monster Cleaners - Baby" and sounds suspiciously Chinese to me. Came with a lot of attachments too - little brushes, squeegee, etc. Big Lots. $20.00. Awesome. And it's 1000 watts and really works. Scared my cats half to death when I used it. I think they were scared I was gonna use it on them! So I got some extra entertainment. Haven't tried it on an atomizer yet though, but it cleaned my furnace vent really well! Was just so excited I had to tell you all and will post again when I use it on my atomizers.
Just finished cleaning 4 atomizers and tested all of them. All are alive and well. My Baby Monster Steam Cleaner from Big Lots did the job well. BTW I looked on the bottom and it is made in China, but it does seem well-made. I put the nozzle near the cartridge end and while holding the atomizer with a potholder, I blasted it 3 quick bursts. Turned it around and blasted it by directly touching the nozzle to the battery end 3 quick bursts. Turned it around again and blasted 3 quick bursts at the cartridge end again.
Turned them cartridge down, on a paper towel and let them drain a few minutes. Then I did the same procedure without the potholder with 3M Dust Remover. Again I placed them cartridge side down and let them drain a few minutes. The water that drained from them was light brown. I dried off the battery end really well with a paper towel, making sure to get into the crevices. I dripped about 5 drops of liquid into them and let them sit for a few minutes. Put them all back together with the battery and full cartridge and after a few drags, they started producing good vapor.
I forgot about the potholder on the first couple of blasts and the atomizer got really hot. So if you do this, don't forget to use tongs or a potholder. One of my atomizers had a burnt taste and it's gone now. I figure if I do this every two weeks, it will be preventative maintenance and extend the life of an atomizer.
The hunt was fun and well worth it especially because "Mission Accomplished!"
