Nope! No closing tomorrow, Kayte.

At the very earliest Fri. More than likely the first part of next week. Found out today the "root cause" of all of this trouble was the county records ofc. failing to record hubby's Power of Atty for his dad. Even though he visited that ofc. as well as others several times for copies of records for buying the house and had to constantly show this paper, it was never initially recorded.
Meanwhile he had to also send up his mother's death certificate which was created 25 yrs. ago as well as his dad's to Tenncare (medicaid) and almost had to send HIS birth certificate, but somehow that was straightened out to get a release from them even though they were NEVER used. Once a "case file" has been opened when applying for Medicaid (in TN) it is ALWAYS open until you close it.....even though the person dies before ever using it. This new law was made since hubby bought house and since his dad died, but no notifications by TNcare were sent out to people like outselves. This is the second time hubby's been hit by a gov. dept. NOT following
through with their responsibility of notifying the public or more specifically those people who dealt with their services.......Wonder how many hardships and frustrations these agencies created for people who are scattered all over TN and probably quite a few out of state.
Anyway, hubby with atty help is getting his father's "case file".....fast tracked, and instead of taking 2-3 wks and if the stars align just right, we'll get a release by Fri. or possibly early next wk. He's got the "case number" now and the lady's phone number who will "walk it
through."
Now keep in mind. Hubby's been working with the real estate atty's offc. AND the elder care atty's ofc. who guided him through all the stuff he had to do 4 yrs. ago. Told him he needed another atty......to sue the County Records Ofc.!
