If I remember correctly this isn't the first time something similar has happened. The uninformed are hilarious.

Posting from my spanking new internet connection. Going from country bum

pkin 1meg "high speed" to 50meg cable is mind blowing. First time I've had cable TV also, I predict a bunch of lounging in my future :)

Please inform us and bring Cappy back on deck

Ahoy!

No, it was a guy from the US I'm pretty sure. He obviously spent the week researching box mods, saw the similarities and made assumptions, then tried to call me out on them. I sent him a link to the ECF thread RSM part one!

I guess, if I had to be honest, the biggest regret is that by being one solitary aging individual I can't possibly make enough mods to put a RSM into the hands of everyone who has wanted one. For a mod to sit unsold for more than hours is pretty rare even when offering the minimalist Cruisers last batch. I have just wished many times that I could somehow expand into multiple workers all dedicated to the task of making enough RSM's for anyone who wants one and at the same time make a better living and not have to count pennies every day. But it is what it is ... arrr

And here is what I've been doing all weekend, and I still have a couple days work needed to finish them.

Mahogany! I've used up over half of my stash already. Gotta find more wood soon.

Have a great week all :)

While I'm a huge advocate of making so much money you need pitchforks to move it, the mods you make are unique and special instead of mass produced.
Perhaps take on an intern now and then to help you out.
Value for you, and value for them in learning the craft.

It's an honor to be a member of such an exclusive club and my custom hand-made mods are far more valuable to me than the rest. :)

Aye and I hope to be a member from this next batch. I could easily purchase some metal box mod from the web ( no hate intended ) but looking at and hearing so many great things about the Capt' mods, I figured what better way to celebrate my up coming 1 year anniversary of quitting than to have one of these beauty's in my hand!! :vapor:

I'm going to be ordering a 10 box display stand soon. Does anyone have any pictures of what a stand looks like in African Mahogany?

I found these two pictures on the RSM website. Is the top one Cherry and the bottom one Mahogany?

Also... jeesh 10 boxes and it will be mostly full. I think I may have a problem with bottom feeders....

Other way around I think - my mahogany Cruiser looks like the top one.
I have the top caddy in cherry and it looks like the bottom one.

Keep in mind cherry will darken with time and exposure to light.
Most of my solid cherry furniture is in a very light natural finish and has deepened to a beautiful reddish over the last 30 years.

Have ordered both in mahogany since I too have a problem !
Will post a picture when they come in, but Cappy may chime in before that.

Edit: Here's my current one in cherry, and note the chest it's on is also cherry

Ahoy! What day is it today?

Yeah, the top is Mahogany, the bottom cherry.

Dang, it's Tuesday and I just now finished putting finish on the desk caddies. When it dries I still need to cut and put felt into all the necessary holes on all the caddies. Man, this is gonna be a 5 day evolution to do all these caddies. I might need to start limiting the total orders permitted per week. Some weeks I get no orders, weeks like the last I got 10! Too many at once, I can only average about 2 per day......arrrggg

The Mahogany is considerably darker. In fact I am also going to have to stain a bunch of standoff pegs a darker color as the ones I have are made to match cherry, not the darker mahogany.

I'm hoping to ship them tomorrow so I can finally get back to the mods.

Later all, arrr

Do what I do for the easy fix, order 2 or do what Mama Tried does; a 20 box mod caddy or is it 100 box mod caddy?

it was a 25 box and a 10 box. Cappy wasn't thrilled making the 25. i ain't asking for a 100....

... just yet

Ahoy again.

Well, time to pack it in for the night. I got all the pegs stained and everything is ready to go for shipping tomorrow I hope.

25 box caddies are almost too big for me to work on easily in my small shop. If anyone ever saw the "shop" area that I make everything in they would probably laugh. I've got everything stuffed into a 9 x 25 foot room that used to be the dining room.

G'night me 'earties, arrr

Ahoy! Why so quiet? Or does that explain the two empty kegs o' rum I found rolling around the deck?

Someone serve me a cold one too, been a long day!

Well, installing the dna30 boards was fun (sarcasm), but I redid my schematics to allow for the thicker wires, rerouted a couple of them to make room and finally got one finished. The rest should be easier now as I know the process I need to use.

Vaped on it for a bit, then dumped some glue down the inside of the atty connector and put it aside to dry. One done, bunch to go.

I'm not sure how I should release them. I can probably get a few done per day so I guess I could do 3, post pics, put on website and go back to work on another 3 until they are all done. I could also just have you all just cool your jets for another week until they are all finished?

I dunno, but I do know I'm stopping for the night.

Arrrrr
