Oooops. Sorry if I spoiled the game for you. I like College ball as well. Watched Florida and Bama. Looks like Saben is going to win another Title with this team!

Nah, you didn't spoil it for me at all. I already saw the score, just didn't know the details. I watched the Florida/Bama game too. It was good during the first half. Spent most of the second half channel surfing and watching at other games. Yep definitely looks like he's dialed in for another championship.

Man this thread is dead.

I recently got a couple atties that have renewed my love for BF. Picked up a Divo and an RM2 and both work great. For the RM2 I might need to sand down the catch cup a mm so that my center pin isn't sticking out so far. Funny thing I noticed playing with it is that the catch cup on the Cutlass 5.1 is bigger then the one on my Cutlass 2 VV.

Anyways hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Ahoy all! What the heck day is it today anyway...... spending most of the week fixing stuff around the house as the weather and daily power outages due to all the rain is keeping me away from the shop.

Fixed the garbage disposal, ice maker water valve, missing bug screens (got a paper wasp problem around here). Today we steam cleaned the carpet. I also see as I type that the pool is overflowing so I guess the overflow drain line must be plugged with leaves again..... it never ends.

I managed to get several bases done for some caddies on order. I will try to make the tops of them tonight after the rains stop as the people waiting have been very patient with me.

Wish I had exciting news, sorry, just generic life news is all. Arrr

Ahoy Capt'

Like I stated in a past post home ownership is never ending. Last night my wife and I were watching the Giant game when we heard what sounded like a car crash outside our door. We both went outside and saw nothing so we went back to watching the game. So this morning I went out around 6am to get the newspaper (still get the NY Post delivered here in FL) and the garage door went up a foot and stopped. Low and behold that crash we heard was the tension spring snapping!

Normally I would have fixed it myself but since none of the stores around here sell the springs, and it would have taken over a week to have them delivered I called a local company to come and have it done. Manually lifting a 7ft x 16ft door a few times a day ( don't like keeping the car outside in the wonderful Fl sun ) waiting for the springs to arrive was not part of this equation. Maybe 30 years ago when I was in my prime it would have been no problem, but after 20+ years of lifting NYC garbage my back is not the same! :D

Ah yes home ownership is the best!!!!

Hope your at a high elevation there in Florida Cappy! I recently saw a vid on the Weather Channel about the Miami coast. The streets flood every high tide now. The sea water comes up through the street drains.

Still, I hear people say " so much for global warming" all the time......

Yeah, were good as far as elevation goes. We get minor flooding if it rains so hard it can't drain off fast enough though. Lost power twice yesterday for a total of about 3 hours and it's been the same wet again today.

After a night of street flooding, more heavy rain likely today

Have a great weekend all, arrr

Yea it was a weird Rainy Season this year. Not many afternoon storms during the hot and humid summer. Now the past few weeks raining like crazy. They are putting in sewers and water where we are and we have had dirt roads for the past 7 months. Well forget about keeping the car clean!! Nothing but mud!! :grr:
Hopefully will be paved in the next month or two!

Ahoy all, and happy Saturday!

Well, this is the slow time between batches as usual. Not much to talk about and less to show off.

The only bit of news I might have at the moment is about the cloned dna30 board.

I made a mod using one last batch and have vaped on it for a while to test it out. The only thing that I do not like about the cloned board when compared to the original is the wait time for the regulator to wake up before use. I found that as soon as I pick it up I have to click the button once so it is ready to vape by the time I am ready to take a hit. This didn't bother me at first but I am finding it to be somewhat irritating now and hope they can fix it in the future.

Other than that, I find the function is the same as the evolv board. I will NOT be using them in the future though, mainly due to the stigma that they still carry vs the original board. They are slightly bigger which also makes mounting them harder for me in the limited space I provide to hold electronics.

As always, things change, but this batch will be genuine regulators again.

I am a few weeks away (or less) from completing the 3.7v mods on this batch. The constant rain has given me plenty of time to play video games but not much time to run machinery. The weather has cleared up finally though so I am hitting the batch hard again.

I think I may be holding a short contest soon and give away that Cutlass with the cloned dna30 just to make someone happy. Not sure how I will do that yet.

(Edit: due to recent info I've received about the clone dna board, I won't be giving it away due to the risk of failure/damage. Better safe than sorry).

At any rate, hope you all have a great weekend!

Glad to hear your going to stay with the real DNA boards. I think it's a good choice. I'm really liking my Cutlass Capt'! As for the weather it stinks. I've been trying to go out on the boat for the past few weeks. Don't like being in the Gulf when those storms pop up. I got caught in one last year with the Mrs and it wasn't very pleasurable to say the least. Looks like a cool front is coming in this week so maybe I'll have a chance to get out.

Have a good weekend all.

Go Giants!! :D

Try this as an experiment with both a real and a clone DNA: Take the cover off your atty. Press and hold the fire button. While firing, put a hard short across the coil. A real DNA monitors the current in real-time while firing and will shut down immediately, without damage. Most of the clones do not do that and will self-destruct.

Good!

Good!

For real? Well, if so, then that is a real reason not to use them even if it means ultimately changing to another configuration. I should really keep up with the changes to the regulator market better I suppose. Thanks fer the info!

I was on the road for Week 4 Thursday game @ Washington. Watched it that night at the hotel and again when I got home Tuesday. Good stuff! :D
