the ohms were showing they were flashing and i guess when i took the pic it missed it....if you don't believe me i don't really care.....it fired like a big dog and i was using a 0.44 build and blowing clouds.....always one in every crowd!

PS, ain't a damn thing wrong with my device either.
Yes...if they were flashing then the box was pushing the voltage straight from the battery. It might as well have been a mech mod. This is the way dna chips and the sx200 and sx220 chip behave.

Since I don't subohm on my dna30 clone I had never seen that....makes sense to me

Yes I did know they will not go below the battery voltage or lower than 7 watts... knew that going in. Not an issue

In the example given, .44 ohms is 3.63 volts at 30 watts. If the battery has more than 3.63 volts...outta luck with regulation from the chip.

thank you sir for explaining that, much appreciated.

i was just experimenting to see if the 28.5 atty would fire, that's about it....

Yep....the chips can NOT step or buck down. If your battery is at 3.7 volts and you are trying to push a wattage setting like 30 watts (which may require 3.5 volts at lower resistances) the chip can not do that in a regulated manner. So...it just pushes what it has in the battery...

Miss your posts in the MVP forum , in case anyone's interested George is brilliant , a former aerospace engineer or something along those lines , always enjoy reading what he has to say. You rock George lol

I just received a 30w box mod from got vapes about 30 min ago and as soon as I took it out of the box it had a battery in it. 100°+ weather here. Didn't think that was a good idea to start. So I clicked the fire button anyways. First thing in screen. Check atty. second. Too hot. So I took it inside and set it by the ac for a min. Still with no atty on top the whole I pressed it a third time and it showed short with a distinct smell if burnt electronics. Now it always shows short wether atty on it or not. I'm not bashing got vapes in any way but this seems kind of ridiculous. It also was covered in nasty looking fingerprints. I just expected more out of a rather relatively expensive mod. I know it's not real but still if it has been tKen out of the box it should be tested or shipped with no battery in the chamber. Sorry about the rant this is just my first order in years for ecig supply's and I was hoping for a better experience. I hope you can understand my disappointment. Also I was wondering where I could post on gotvapes forum?

OK, so I love my Clouper Box, it's pretty much all I've been using for a couple of weeks. I don't build my own coils or anything, I just use a standard Nautilus tank. I typically vape around 9watts. My ohm light always blinks (1.7ohm) unless I get up to 9.8watts. The voltage usually shows 3.8 or 4.

Is it the battery I'm using? Should I put in a different battery? Is it a big deal if it's flashing?

Help me Obi Wan.

All that means is that you're running unregulated, the battery is pushing out more power than your desired wattage with that resistance of a coil.

You could try using a 2ohm coil, or just keep running unregulated.

It's not really a bad thing, you're just not using the device to its maximum potential.... which again, isn't a bad thing. That means you have plenty of room to grow/advance as a vaper before you'll have to upgrade your mod.

If your battery is fresh....it has more voltage than the 3.8 or 4 volts you are requesting the box send to your Nautilus at that low of a wattage. So..it blinks...and it sends more voltage (higher wattage) to your atty. Two choices....set the wattage higher or wait a while...eventually your battery will be below 3.8 or 4 volts and the box will start regulating. Its all good...your box is working as it should.

Edit...or use a higher resistance coil.

Seven weeks and the CNA30 is still working well. I change out the battery at least once a day and still do not have any problems with the soft screws. The black finish is showing some wear, primarily around the top and bottom edges as I carry it in my pocket much of the time and also around the USB port from plugging it in for charging. In cigarette dollars, it has more than paid for itself and I've been very happy with it.

Must have a slight quirk with mine.

Even if the battery's charge is 3.5v I can't fire it below 4v without the ohms flashing (unregulated). Is this right? I tried it with the battery at 3.5v and it wouldn't fire regulated on an 0.8 ohm coil at 19 watts (3.9v).

Though the CANA reads atties 0.1 ohm lower and using an inline meter it always short on output by 1 to 2.5 watts. It the revised Cana with smaller 510. Everything else spot on, wakes and fire out of sleep with first click etc. No biggie just up the watts a bit :)

My GF, bless her heart, hasn't really grasped the difference between a buck boost and booster chip. She's still working on the concept of ohms law. All she knows is that she won't hit my mech mod because it 'hits too hard'. But every time she picks up my Cana and sees it's set above 7.5w she immediately turns it down before using it. Not realizing she's just making unregulated.

But I've come up with a good solution. I now use my Cana in stealth mode with the wattage lock turned on. She's been unknowingly using it at 21w without any complaint. he he he :vapor:

My only problem with stealth mode is that it doesn't alert me when it's time to charge the battery.

I dont know...any answer would be a guess.....sorry.
