nice pics. what color is that supposed to be?

Is a gray'ish color. But it's got a nice grainy texture. Good grip, and zero fingerprints.

Here is a better picture of the color/texture:

That's because it's a 3M Di-Noc wrap that I made for it. I mentioned that in the original post with all of the pictures.

I have no issues with the internal charger, and the green light comes on when charge is complete. Yes it's slow, but I'm starting to slow down also. A marrige made in heaven.:toast:

What version is your unit? I was told by 101 that only the very first batch had green lights, the ones being sold now would just light up red indefinitely while charging.

Not that I take anything they say as gospel at this point...

Anyone have a small 510 pin unit AND a charging light that turns green? Is there any consensus on whether it's safe to use the external USB, or is everyone pulling cells and charging them externally as I did?

My apologies if this stuff has been addressed already. Seems like such a poor choice if it's the case. I expect the people who own these boxes have heard about the importance of not leaving cells on a charger after they're done. So Cloupor torments us by offering USB charging...with no easily visible LED, and no way to tell when the battery is ready to rip without powering it up, let alone letting us know if this board is smart enough to stop charging at 4.2V. Even a $40 MVP can display internal battery voltage...

Knowledge welcomed and appreciated.

You think 101 is messing around with the mod ? I say hands off 101, your job is not to alter the mod in any way , your job is to send it to me untouched and untampered with or i'll consider it as used .

The nerve of some vendors lol.

FWIW I just got my replacement from 101. Original black, this one silver. Packed as new, but on inspection has:

1. A mark or stamp on the inside of the battery door. Looks like a letter A with the middle part unconnected. It's tidy and not noticeable, and a non issue in my book. Wouldn't surprise me if all the Cloupor units had it.

2. Some residue in the drip well, and a very noticeable scratch on the 510 pin itself.

The unit also has an area in the drip well where the finish is uneven, looks almost bubbled up in one spot if that makes sense. Makes me wonder if it was a return from a customer who was expecting a perfect finish. And/or if it was taken out of the box and "Tested." I can't see any dirt or grime on the connector threads, but it seems pretty clear that this unit at minimum had an atty on it at some point. My first one did look new in every way, despite this and some other accounts that might show otherwise I can't see how it would make sense for them to do any large scale testing of these boxes prior to shipment with the volume they do.

Guess I can't be upset since this was the exchange for my defective one, though it does kill the thoughts I entertained of selling this box, waiting a bit, and then moving on to something different.

Going to throw an atty on it and have a vape I'll no doubt enjoy. And leave the concerns about how few or many quirks were sorted since my dead second batch unit was made and whether this one will be reliable for another day.

haven't used the USB Charging system yet and i have no plans to, i know people say the screw holes will wear/waller out if you keep taking them out but i'm carefull and i only snug my screws......i just take the batt out and charge it on my I4....hope no probs develop, and if they do i will just drill the holes out slightly bigger and add magnets i already have....

my Cloupor has been performing great since day 1 and i've found my sweet spot/settings for my personal taste at 1.3 ohms @ 17.5 to 20 watts w/28ga (dripper) wicked w/Cotton.

Longtime MVP user here who is strongly considering one of these neat little Mods...In Blue probably.. What are the biggest pluses and minuses as far as these units go? For additional information I will be using a Nautilus on top for my atty. Thx in advance for your time and info- Dave

Mornin' Dave. I got an MVP 2 the week they came out, and have been using it daily since then. I picked up a Cloupor DNA 30 a few days ago, and so far so good.

I mainly got it because I wanted just a little more push than the MVP could offer for my RDA's and kayfun's. I'm not a cloud chaser by any means, and have settled in on 15w for my 1.2ohm kayfun, and 20w for my 0.9 RDA builds.

I have been getting a full day of use no problem using 2500mah batteries. The Cloupor has built in charging, like the MVP, and while it seems to work fine, I have been using a Nitecore i2 to top up my batteries. Not out of distrust, more because the charger is new and I want to use it.

The Cloupor also fits nice in the hand, like the MVP. Is a bit shorter, but a tad wider.

I know this seems a bit all over the place, but it's early and I'm still on cup #1 of coffee. I say if you have the means, buy one. You won't be disappointed.

i replaced all of my mvp2's with cloupors (see avatar). i also utilize the nautilus, exclusively. imho, the biggest drawback would be your coils. the cloupor needs to fire above 4 volts. the coils burn easily.

i bought a mini nautilus, primary to check the new bvc coils. i have 3 more on the way (again, to get the coils). the bvc's run cool, so starting at 4v is no problem at all.

the cloupors have a lower center of gravity, so they are less likely to take a dive.

i have enough that usb charging is no problem.

the finish on the cloupors is problematic. make, or buy, some wraps and that problem is fixed.

to cap, buy cloupor, get new bvc and wrap the box. awesome little set up!

Hello Sam, I trust your observations and hearing from you really helps validate this little beauty in my mind. I'm noticing a version 1 and 2 ? Did the V1 have a specific set of troubles? Are they resolved with the Version 2 ? Thx for the info and I hope you're safe and sound from the fires and all- Dave

If the Cloupor was a bit thinner it would be perfect imo. It's pretty thick but i love it. I still love the MVP though , that is still in the rotation for sure.

Actually that is my rotation lol, an MVP and Cloupor , thats my collection.

and a mighty fine start i'd say!

The DNA 30 is overkill for a Nautilus , everywhere i have read about it says the Nautilus likes low wattage , and after using it i can confirm , if you have the new heads they may be different.

I have a cloupor frosted blue, small pin, no green light. I charged a VTC5 all night to test USB charging (9+ hrs). Light was still red in the morning. I pulled out the battery and it tested perfectly at 4.2V. They do cutoff charging, well at least mine does.

there are new "regular" heads that are supposed to handle higher wattage; and the bvc. i have a few bvc's and i've toyed above 15 watts with no problem.
