Pokey,
Get some model paint and a toothpick, get one small drop of paint on the top of the button and very carefully turn it so the button is upside down and set it on the top edges of a cup or bowl and let it dry over night. In the morning you will have a black topped button.
Just make sure the drop of paint is hanging off of the button and nut running into it.

Teal and Cobalt blue would be great - but how about just ONE color for the ladies??? No one makes any quality mods in pink, or light green, or lavender.... There's a LOT of females who complain about this on here - just sayin'! :)
I like my Red one, but would love a pastel.

:2c: An off button would be fantastic! I fried my poor red Buzz in my purse. I use the power off setting on my Provari every day.

I've got a Sure-Fire in the shop that operates off that principal....The body isn't metal however..I'll investigate the situation tomorrow...Given the fact you're depending on a high wear area too remain anodized......Then there's the fact you're gonna want the cap too screw/unscrew seamlessly time after time...Not too mention some repeatable degree of accuracy will be required when machining....Now it could work and work fine....Testing will be required and changing horses mid-stream......Well....as usual I'm riding with Five on this one.....Definitely worth investigating however.........
The plus side is if it did wear out, it just wouldnt have the switch any more :) It would basically be just like the old bottom caps .

For the most part it would take ALOT of use to wear off anodizing. I have a couple really nice flashlights that work like that and ive had them for years. No signs of wear. However I dont use them 10 hours a day every day either :p

You could also just have it like this with a non conductive endcap turning it to bring the contacts together completing the circuit

I pulled the cap off the Sure-Fire today...The body is a high impact plastic and has a stainless insert...Screwing the cap down completes the circuit...It also has a momentary switch. I'm guessing the mini Mag-Lites also use this principal...They seem too last and they're anodized aluminum....My Pro-Vari is switchable and it's a feature I seldom use....I do like the fact it's there however...but...if it's OFF it won't vape.....and I'm addicted....This idea should work and work fine,,,,maybe........
