Concerned about e-liquid on skin

Hello. I recently moved across the country for school and left my MVP back at home, so I bought a cheap rechargeable ecig at a 7/11. The design is terrible, and it keeps leaking, and it conveniently flipped over in my pocket and leaked through my pants and underwear onto my nether regions. I noticed immediately, because it burned like hell (spearmint flavor :|), but I didn't get a chance to wash it off me for a good 5-10 minutes.

I'm just concerned that this might cause some kind of infection, or have some kind of adverse reaction (I don't want to be infertile). I might just be paranoid, since there hasn't been any kind of redness/irritation (yet). I researched a bit on google, but couldn't find anything so I thought posting here might be a good option. I hope im in the right section.

I'm assuming that you have a) removed the clothes, and b) washed the affected area of your person. If not, do so now (as in right now).

The only thing you will really have to worry about is absorption of nicotine through the skin. No, it doesn't matter where the skin is. The effects of this would show up as headache, dizziness, ringing in the ears, nausea, and possibly an elevated heart rate. These will abate with time as your body processes the nic, but if you are feeling any of these adverse effects to a level you are uncomfortable with, consult a doctor or medical hotline. Take is easy with the vaping (ideally abstaining) for several hours so that your body is not taxed with processing additional nicotine.

Above all else, though - wash the ejuice off thoroughly.

I measured my heart rate and its pretty steady around 90. I am getting that feeling when ive been vaping for too long, but that is probably just because ive been vaping since I got out of class an hour or so ago. Its been about 45 minutes or so, and I haven't felt any symptoms of an overdose, so I think im in the clear. Ill lay off vaping until late tonight just to be safe. At the moment im more worried about irritation or infection, which would probably be painful as hell. I did wash it off and change pants about 10 minutes after it happened.

After this amount of time sounds like all is well :)

Spearmint will give a "burn" feeling to skin - think Ben Gay Ointment, so yea, I wouldn't want to be leaving that on.

I didn't have any problems with juice already made but I did get some straight nic on my upper arm last week. By the time I stopped mixing juice to take care of it I had a mild headache and some rining in the ears. That was just from a couple of small drops. I'm alot more careful now and take my time handling straight nic.

I think you should be just fine. ..I make my own e juice and the ONLY thing that would concern me would be STRAIGHT nicotine. I'm talking about the high concentration like I use to make juice. It's 100 mg nicotine base. Something STRAIGHT and HIGHLY concentrate such as a base of 100 mg nicotine CAN indeed make you I'll if absorbed through the skin. But ejuice itself, the pg and vg is not anything to worry about. The nicotine in the juice is CUT to such a LOW percentage I would not at all worry about that either. Unless you spilled a pure nicotine base at a higher percentage such as 100mg, I'm quit certain you will be fine and there is NO reason to be alarmed whatsoever. Unless you have a skin alergy to pg, or vg, which is extremely RARE. The time to be cautious and concerned is when your working with a highly concentrate nicotine base. Since e juice does NOT have that concentration of nicotine in it in my opinion it is NOT harmful in most circumstances. I get e juice on my skin a LOT. It has NEVER ONCE made me ill, nor has it irritated my skin. That said I do use caution when working with my highly concentrate nicotine base in the process of making the juice. But once the juice is made the levels are so minimal it's HIGHLY doubtful it's harmful. I really hope this helps set your mind at ease. Of course there is always a exception such as a skin allergy, or sensitivity but that is extremely rare. Pg and vg are found in many everyday items such as toothpaste ect. I would not worry. I hope this is helpful.

TXBiker, the concentration of nicotine matters.

I vape 6mg liquid and, on occasion, if I slop a few drops while dripping, I've just licked it off with no ill effects (although it doesn't taste as good as when it is vaped.)
I wouldn't recommend that for someone vaping 12-24mg but a quick swipe with a wet cloth would be sufficient.
Most DYIers work with 50-100mg. Those levels can be toxic. Nicotine is quickly absorbed through the skin. Wear appropriate protective clothing when mixing.

you will be fine... no need to wory about the nic, altho the spearmint may be a bit fun to deal with....
I get 36 nic juice on me quite often with no effects at all, I even had 100nic on me for a short period of time with a slight sensation of a tingle that lasted about 3-4 minutes.

When I was doing the patches ( 21mg strength) those puppies would burn, itch, and even blister my skin.. ( may have been the adhesive?? ) I did find out tho that the nic used in the patches is quite potent... I pulled one apart to see how it was made, got down to the surface where the actual nicotine was stored and took a wiff of it... about knocked me for a loop, and curiosity got the best of me..... I licked it to see what it would taste like.... bad move.. spent the next hour paying homage to the porcelin idol.... chanting .... UUUeeerrgghhh UUUrrrggghhha
