Convince me Reoville is the place I should call home.

And it's on its way! Eerr...everything lol :D Should arrive on Tuesday next week.

Spent 2 hours yesterday on one of my local vape stores. I'm trying to score a job there, he pays good so I'm trying to make a good impression. Went there, he gave me his fairly cheap ($10) RDA, told me to do as I wanted with it since he doesn't know how to do RBAs. Well I built 2 coils, both measured at 0.8 ohms. One on the RM2 and the other on his RDA. (Kanthal 28g 4 wraps silica wick) The quality of his atty was poor, not that much vapor production and harsh throat hit, although it got better after a few puffs. When I made the very same coil at .8 ohms on my RM2 and gave it to him, he was blown away. Mind you, he was using ACR protected small batteries on a K100, so he was getting 3.2-3.3v with a fully charged battery. I tried using my AW IMR 18490 but it was at 3.7v, so far from fully charged. Still, at 3.7v it was hitting 3.2v, so whatever that battery he was using is, it's really bad. Still, at that voltage, the RM2 was giving off pretty damn good vapor, a smooth drag and plenty of flavor. Needless to say he was stunned. Then again I had to come home, throw away the coil and remake a 1.1 ohm so that I could fire it on my Provari in the meantime.

Yup, high quality right there with that RM2. :D

So my fellow reonauts how's the long weekend going?

Just the usual around here, only last night went out with a couple of my old job co-workers. Been messing with my RM2, making coils and whatnot. Patiently waiting for Tuesday to get my two beauties fired up :D.

So after hearing a lot about using cotton for wicking, I went ahead and bought it from CVS. I read about organic, sterile, usp and whatnot, this one is sterile rolled cotton, so I guess it would work fine? Here's a pic :p.

Had to order mine from CVS website. It shows the old packaging online but the new is what arrives. NONE of the drug stores around here had any rolled cotton and their cotton balls have much more cotton taste than the rolled stuff IMO. There is an obvious difference in appearance and texture also. Rolled Super .....in Wickin Cotton for the win!

jcalis, what gauge wire are you using? Probably if you just drop a coil or two, you'll have it down to 1.3-1.5 ohm. That where you want it? Looks good.....I know you're dying right now waiting for your new springs. Hope they come tomorrow......
Yeah can't wait to have those two beauties by my side :D. Checked the tracking and both orders have been here since Sunday, so hopefully tomorrow I'll get it.

I was using 30 gauge wire. I'll be using 28g kanthal though when I build the actual coil that will be sitting on the REO. My aim ideally is a micro coil at 1.0 ohms.

Hi jcalis, made my first micro coil yesterday. Just unscrewed and checked. Does not look burnt. First tried cotton balls - horrible taste. Then rolled cotton, which gave no taste - not even at the beginning - all taste was the juice. See the peeps here recommend "sterile" rolled cotton. Only difference between our attempts are that my coils are all touching, tight together. I have 8 wraps, which also came out at 1.7 ohms. Oh yes, also used 30 gauge wire.

By the way, is it normal to taste the cotton at the beginning and also that the part of the cotton that goes directly inside the coil gets a little burnt?

Here, this is a pic of a barely used cotton wick. It was always pretty saturated before firing.

Yes, the first several hits are usually a little off. I'm not sure if its the cotton itself or just the fresh / dry burnt coil. Either way, I don't usually inhale those - just hit it and blow them out. Primer puffs if you will. Then it's game on. My wicks look like that when i pull them - typically at weekly intervals. Key is to keep em nice and wet. Squonk all ya want :)

Oh yes, with my very first rough and ready coil just wrapped on doubled silica wick I did not torch the wire first. That was a good vape. Then I tried micro coil on cotton ball and on silica - both times I torched the wire beforehand - both times the taste was horrible. With my last micro coil with rolled cotton I again did not torch the wire. So maybe the industrial taste came from the torched wire and not the cotton balls. Will do it again sometime to check.

OUT FOR DELIVERY OUT FOR DELIVERY OUT FOR DELIVERY...

Ehh, that's enough of that :D. I left a micro coil ready without wicking before going to work as well as a juice I made for the RM2. My all day vape if you will (Strawberry/Banana 80/20 PG/VG) Measured at 0.9 ohms. Got two more 18650 AW IMR 1600 mAh batteries coming as well. I can't wait!

Tried escaping home to catch the carrier but nope, no luck. Left a note on the door and told my neighbors from upstairs to watch out for the package. Should arrive shortly :D.

And Matthee, I tried both torching and not torching the wire. I give it a light torch, wash it and dry it. Then before wicking it I dry burn it just a little. Seems to work for me. And yes I'm using sterile cotton. Good thing is one roll is enough to last a lifetime! Hopefully with time I'll get better at RBAs and eventually move on completely to them. For now I got one working atty (the hh.357), 5 cartomizers and the RM2. I also want to try different RBAs, like the Chalice and the Hornet. Although the RM2 is so simple and works so beautifully, that I have no doubt it'll be my favorite of them all.

PS: I saw a thread about dual coils on the RM2 and even triple coils. That looks so deliciously interesting, I might just give it a try when I'm comfortable enough with RBAs. :p

This is it! I got home to the sweet surprise of three packages: the new REO, the repair kit and the extra springs, and the two extra 18650 batteries. I am finally a permanent resident of Reoville. YAY!

I've been vaping so hard for the past hours. I went to my local vape store, this monster was the hit of the party! A guy that is really into having a ton of mods (has about 20 tube mods) looked puzzled at it. Then he saw me blow plumes of vapor, and I let him have a hit. He was blown away. "Mm, at least 70% vg and 30% pg" he said. The look on his face when I told him "Nope, it's actually 80% pg 20% vg". LOL, he could not believe the plumes of vapor were coming from a high pg juice. Long story short, he left saying "I have GOT to get my hands on one of these".

Here's the official picture, holding these two powerhouses, the end-gamer, all hail, none shall resist.

PS: Thank you all for the support and help. You made it bearable to wait for it.
And of course Rob, can't thank you enough! :D
