Attempting making yogurt in the Instant Pot for the first time! Going with plain, but need to look around for vanilla, which is my favorite. :) And yes, I can use plain to cook with, so there's that.
Looking forward to hearing how it turns out. :)

I'm making hamburger buns this afternoon. They are on their second rise.

Next time, I cook dinner FIRST! Yogurt takes about 8 hours!!
Wow! Good to know. When Sonny was small we had a yogurt maker, but that's been gone for years. I don't remember how long the little thing took to make 5 containers though.

This recipe uses a half gallon of milk. You can use jars or whatever, but I chose to just make it in the SS pot and will divide it up afterwards.

Edit: And I just took the lid off to check about a half hour ago, and it does smell like yogurt! :D

The yogurt went "ding" about midnight. I need something to strain it through for next time, but it's fine the way it is too. For plain yogurt, it's not as bitey as the store kind. The directions said to leave it in the pot longer than 8 hours if you like it more tangy. I'm quite happy with it, and I'll be making it again!! :)

Good morning!

Hooray for likes being back!

Now I am going to have to see about making yogurt Bamrz. I don't think I have anything suitable though. hmmmmm.....
Suitable? just 1/2 gallon of whole milk, and about 2 tablespoons of active yogurt. I used Chobani.

I meant for making it in. I don't have an instant pot. Can it be make in a pan on the stove? Slow cooker? Now I have to look it up.
I would think a slow cooker should work, but it depends on how hot it gets. You'd need to heat the milk on the stove first though.

For some reason, I thought you had an Instant Pot?
