Ian and family are camping this weekend. :) DIL posted some pics and a short video to FB so far.

I has a sad. :( Planned on taking the bike to work today, it's been on the trickle charger, and the light was green. Unhooked, screwed the side cover back on, bike won't start. It's a bit warm outside right now, so I'll go out when it cools off later and see if maybe the contacts are dirty. Hoping I don't have to buy a second vehicle battery this year.

Tiff, you can hang around here, we won't pick on you. :)

Good morning all!

And now for the weekly Softball Report!

Kat's team played in a single elimination tournament. The first two games were the "pool play" games used to seed the brackets. We got demolished in both games. In two games, we gave up 29 runs and scored ZERO. It was embarrassing. One good thing did happen though... Our first game was against the team/coach that Kat used to play for that my mouth got her kicked off of. One of the girls on the team who didnt play with Kat was overheard talking to the coach. She said "If I pop one to left field, am I good to round third and get to home?" Coach said "If you hit anything tho left field, you hold at third. That's Kat out there. If you try to get home, she'll get you before you can get there!" (referring to the fact that he knew that Kat could not only get a ball stopped, but that she had the arm to throw it home and make the play.) I also talked with him about how things were going since Kat left. He's not very happy. The girl he got to fill Kat's spot on the roster is apparently very talented, but has a horrible attitude. No one on the team likes her. When I told Kat that, she kind of smirked and said "Good. Now he knows what he's missing." ANYwho... for the first bracket game, the girls finally decided they wanted to be on the field and play some ball. They won that game 7-3. Kat made some truly spectacular plays in the outfield. Of course, she made a couple of dunderhead moves too. After making a diving catch one play, the next one to her was a hard grounder, and she ended up kicking it farther away from her as she was trying to pick it up. There were a couple of other mistakes, but overall, she did really good that game. The next round, the girls didnt seem to want to play anymore. And it seemed liked the coaches gave up on them. There were two separate occasions where the first base coach wasnt at the first base to tell our girls what to do. She was in the dugout talking or something. When Kat got a hit, she took off to first base. The coach stood there with her arms crossed. The throw to first that would have gotten Kat out was missed, Kat hesitated to look at her first base coach for instructions. She didnt say stay, she didnt say go, she just stood there with her arms crossed. So, Kat being the aggressive player that she is, took off to second. When she slid, she came in under the tag (at least according to what we saw in the stands, including parents from the other team), but the field umpire called her out. When Kat came back in, she was MAD. She knew she was safe. And when she asked the first base coach, she said "I knew you were out. You shouldnt have run." Since Kat was already mad, she lost her temper and said "WELL THEN YOU SHOULDVE TOLD ME SOMETHING WHEN THAT THROW WAS MISSED, AND NOT JUST STAND THERE WITH YOUR ARMS CROSSED!" Now, granted, no matter what the call, or what happened at that point in the game, it wouldve made no difference in the outcome. We were already behind 12-0 at that point. But that's no excuse for the coaches to stop coaching. If I get a few minutes after practice this evening, I plan on talking to the head coach about it. I'm not mad about it (anymore), but it's inexcusable. Just because the girls gave up, doesnt mean the coaches should. On the way home, I did buy Kat a milkshake though. She did well. Even when her team played like they did, she never stopped trying and cheering and trying to motivate.

Tonight, Kat's gonna be busy. First day of school. Volleyball tryouts from 3:30-5:30 (and after watching their practices last week, I doubt she'll have a problem making that team). Then softball practice from 6:30-7:30. Then home, dinner, showers, bed. I think I'm going to have three very tired children by the end of the day. :) I'm not sure how we're going to keep up with Kat's schedule this year. She'll have volleyball. Dance. Chorus. Honors Chorus. School Softball. Rec softball. Travel softball. Not to mention Melanie's Rec softball and CJ's Rec basketball.

Ok, I'm gonna get off of here. I know everyone LOVES reading my novels Monday morning!

Y'all have a good day!

First day of school 2015 vs 2011.

Kat is now starting 7th grade. Compared to day one of 3rd grade (I think).
Melanie is going into 3rd. Compared to day one of kindergarten.
CJ going into 2nd. Compared to running around the house in a pullup. :D

Holy carp.... Dont ever EVER buy Food Lion brand chocolate flavored whey protein shake mix. OMG this stuff is terrible. Now I have to choke through this carp all week so I dont feel like any was wasted. ( I think I just threw up in my mouth a little)

OOH! Mrs E took pix of the kids! Gimme a min and I'll post 'em!
Isopure Whey Protein the only way to go. I use the powder no carb. But its a bit expencive. But well worth it only one I use.

I found that I really like Muscle Milk. Its a combination protein mix that tastes pretty good. But, I was out, and asked Mrs E to pick some up for me. She didnt feel like driving "all the way" to Walmart... a whole ten minutes to get it. So she stopped by Food Lion and got the cheapest one she could find. Blech.

Hubby and I went to give blood for the get healthy insurance discount. Wanted to cover my bases just in case I dont retire in December. But still planing on being out of the Rat Race on the 31st. Puting ducks in a row, putting a couple more pennies in the mad money pot. But what helped is when cleaning out the safe box I found 41 savings bonds I forgot I had. Their from when it was so convenient to buy them.Automatically deducted from my pay. Now you have to go online and futz around. That was the end of my buying them.

Time for me to get out of here and start the real work. Home. Change clothes. Toss small kids in the car. Go get big kid from volleyball tryouts. Pray we have everything she needs for softball practice. Softball practice. Home. Dinner. Showers. Bed. In that order.

Y'all have a good evening.

Sadness at work today. As I was closing out this afternoon, a man came in to close his wife's P.O. box because she had passed away. Thankfully Larry was helping him, I would have gone all blubbery, she was one of my favorite customers. She was a tiny little lady, with spiky red hair whose color would not be found in nature. :) She used to come in every day and would chit chat if we weren't busy. It was just a little earlier this summer that we found out she had ALS.

James, once again your schedule has me worn out!

Good morning all.

We just got word yesterday that the 16U team that the Rec Dept was trying to get started, wont be happening. The guy that was going to coach is one of Kat's favorite coaches, and had asked her to play for him, even though she's only 12. She was really looking forward to it. However, none of the other towns in the county were putting together a Fall 16U team. So, they started looking into other towns close by, outside of the county. They contacted the Charlotte Rec Dept, and they said they would be more than happy to have Clover come up and play. However, they refused to let Clover host any games, which meant every game would be an away game for us. Naturally, the Clover parents called BS and said no. So, as of right now, Kat will not be playing this Fall because her travel team is a Summer only team. *sigh* Now we get to figure out if we want to find another team for her to be on for two seasons before she goes back to her current team in the Summer. Not to mention the volleyball and choruses she's going to be in. That girl is going to drive me ragged before she gets her drivers licence.

I better get going. Gonna be really busy. Yesterday was a huge delivery day, and they've finally come out with the new process to return equipment. Now I can start processing everything thats been stacking up for the last three weeks. Ungh.

I hope everyone has a good day, and we get a few more posts. Sheesh, y'all were quiet yesterday!

Bamrz, I'm sorry for the loss. Mrs E goes through something similar. Her favorite customer, she refers to as her "old man boyfriend". He's in his 80's and is now in an assisted living facility. His son says the only place he ever asks to go is to Food Lion to go see her. She's going to be devastated when he passes away.

Dont worry about my schedule wearing you out. It wears me out too. Today will be home, change clothes, get Kat from volleyball practice at 5:30, get Melanie to softball practice before 6:00, get to the gym as soon as I can, throw CJ at the childcare folks, get (hopefully) an hour workout in, go get Melanie from practice, get home, dinner, showers, bed by 9. Mrs E was SUPPOSED to stop working nights because of school, but for some danged reason, she's working tonight, even though she originally had today completely off. So now MY plans have been screwed. I'm not happy with her at the moment. I took a week off the gym last week because of everything going on. And it shows on the scale. I told her yesterday I was starting back into my routine, and planned the whole week out based on her work schedule, and Kat's softball/volleyball schedule, and Melanie's softball schedule... You know how hard it is to plan two free hours around all of that?! Only to have it "modified"?! Yeah... Not happy with her right now. And there is a whole mess of stuff I need to discuss with her, but she's not answering her texts, which means she's probably back in bed napping. At least when the kids were out of school, she didnt take a nap every day. :grr:
