I actually had to go in to work today (10 am til 1:30 pm), on my normal day off.
This was not due to the holiday season, but because one of my co-workers hasn't seen fit to work a full scheduled week in probably the past 6 months.
The postmaster told me that when this guy was called into his office for a PDI (pre-disciplanary interview) yesterday, he actually had the kiwi's to tell the PM that he needed off today for a Dr's appointment!
My other co-workers are tired of his BS (me too!), and have also expressed this to the PM.
The only funny thing I can take out of this is that yesterday I heard him fussing to our union rep that he has been put on LWOP (leave without pay) status for his sick time now, since he has used up all his allotted time. Yes dude, you only get so many sick days per year, and if you exceed that, you go on LWOP!
I had to do that after my bike accident because my supervisor didn't allow me to return to work when my Dr said I could. Just wow.
