The tattoos thing makes me smile. Considering how fast things change with vaping, in terms of the technology, and the fashion, and also considering a tattoo is a lifelong commitment, it seems a recipe for regret. A bit like getting a tattoo of a cool new mobile phone in 1987, and expecting it to still look 'cutting edge' in 2016.

This is an interesting thread, not least because it echoes how I have been feeling, returning to ecf after a break. Apparently I am a Senior member now - who knew? One of the problems with all this choice is that you get people splitting into factions. There is nothing wrong with having a set up that works for you, of course. And better products will keep coming to market. But 'cloud chasers' and 'flavour chasers' and all that nonsense is creating tribalism, which should be resisted, in my opinion. Like the Provari lovers and Provari haters, of a while back. Why get so steamed up about things? (No pun intended). This wonderful invention has kept me off cigarettes for a while now. But I confess to a little nostalgia about the way no smokers ever used to discuss intricate details of filter construction, or the processes used to create the paper. No forums with B&H smokers having a go at Marlboro smokers, or both locking horns with the 'DIYers' who roll their own. There is NOTHING that intrinsically cool about vaping. It just happens to be a lot cooler than smoking, both for the smoker, and those in his/her vicinity.

I also really dislike the fact that you cannot even BUY regular resistance coils for tanks anymore. Whats going-on with that? What-if Id like to use a tank on 1 of my older regulated mods, such-as my Provari or EvicV1? Or my Lavatube Lambo? I do-not even have that option anymore, unless i chase-down OLD T3 coils..

In a-lot of cases, safety has "gone out the window" as I've said in a previous post in this thread. Now, more than EVER, there are comments in the comments section of videos on youtube, with new vapers asking WHY their cotton wick caught on fire. WHY is my button getting so HOT!? WHY is my coil not firing, and SPARKING?

WHY is my battery hissing? I am using 0.1 ohm with my WOTOFO mech mod and AGA RBA with my 25amp battery, and the battery hisses every time I fire it! I don't really mind, but I wish I could just yell at my battery and make it stop because it is very distracting to my vape! How dare they sell me a battery that makes all of this noise!! I am very upset, honestly!

lol... yes, funny, but not-so-funny.. safety has truly gone with the wind these days... & who is going to teach new vapers (whom are not about forums or writing/asking-questions on forums) and new vapers without experienced vaper-friends, about wattage limits, if the pamphlet of their new regulated-mod wont? (their 1st mod) WHO is there to teach new vapers buying online, that you cannot use 18mg juice at 100w, if the pamphlet wont? WHO is going to teach new vapers about battery safety if ALL the pamphlet says is "use correct batteries for this mod" HMMM? The answer is no one is... which is why Youtube is FULL of new vapers SCARING ME... Literally SCARING and SERIOUSLY WORRYING ME, with each and every one of their comments.... It's getting scary. & what a great time to fuel the safety issues fire, when we face the F DEE AYE, right?? what a time...

Probably the point. I'd LOVE my tattoo, if it were of a 1950's TV, and I had gotten it just as TVs hit the scene. How freaking cool would that tattoo be today? How cool would that tattoo STORY be, haha?

Further down that rabbit hole we spoke of earlier.

I have no problems finding heads and cartos that work with old gear.

Heck, the kabuki is making waves currently in the provi section. The provarinati are still tootling along just fine.

I'm really interested to know if some of you veteran vapers just kind of settled at some point and gave up on progressing further, and if so at what point it became good enough for you? Then again if you did, I don't know if you'd be reading this or just out living your life.
Well, since you said you were interested...
:)

I have been dripping on an Ego Twist with a 510 atomizer for a LONG time now.
But I still come here and watch all the changes as they pass by my window.

I long ago stopped caring about the newest vaping developments.
I'm completely happy where I am.

I just come here to keep up with where the vaping world is headed.
And mostly, to keep track of what THEY are trying to do to stop us in our tracks.

I went over to the local vape shop yesterday looking for a dual 18650 VV/VW/TC mod after browsing and reading about them for a while. They had 8 or 10 that fit in the range I was looking for and the guy who helped me was knowledgeable.

He started out with the basic talk track about safety and features and soon realized I was knowledgeable when I told him my first ecig was a Joye 510, followed by an eGO with a 650mah batt. I only go in there a few times a year, so the staff tends to change from time to time.

I ended up walking out with a Koopor Plus 200W. I'm mostly after extended battery life and maybe switching to TC just to see if it's really tastier and more consistent. I started vaping after charging both of the new 3000mah batteries that I will be using exclusively with this mod. That was about 3pm yesterday. It's 9am the next day and I vaped on it until midnight last night. The battery display says I have 3/4 left! Cool!

Yep, things have changed.

i'm not trying to say it's impossible to tootle puff or tootle poof ;) I'm trying to say the market has switched to sub-ohm (WARM) vapor and it's not looking good for tootle puffers, OR tootle POOFER! ;)

lol.

(WARM) Is not necessarily correct. ;)

If this was correct, the progression towards deep sub ohm would show cases of hospitalization from serious throat burns as a common occurance.

For example, I very much dislike a warm vape. Yet I Vape @ 0.2 ohm +/- day in and day out.

Yes, if you choke that off to a tootle puffing 1/32" hole the vape will be hot as Hates. But if you set it up correctly, the vape is indiscernable from room temp air breathing.

As far as would be tootlers just coming into vaping and likely those who are restricted to local purchasing, I'd have to agree. There's less and less likely hood they're going to stumble upon what's going to work best for them. But as far as anyone with an interwebs connection and a propensity to use it, I don't see the slightest issue.

Yes, the market is changing. But I can't see low power vaping disappearing any time soon.

I can tell you one thing that hasn't changed --- there is always someone to disagree or counter any statement or opinion.

I have never owned a vaping device, atty, drip tip, battery or liquid that someone hasn't loved and someone else hasn't critiqued heavily. (I'm being kind)

Speaking of vaping tattoos ---

No. Just an amazing entry into a contest a few years ago -- and the guy won the mod, too. I believe the Nivel chip was the first VV/VW chip/board and came from Russia. This one of the earliest US mods using it. Mamu only made 3 at that time. This mod was truly priceless as none were sold -- only gifted.

Soon after the DNA 20 modders board came out and she did make more Lexi's with the DNA20 as well as a couple other case styles for sale. This is the only tattoo of one that I know of, however. :)

Maybe really cool today. But you only know that in hindsight. And after a LOT of embarrassment at how very uncool it looked all through the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s...

haha i definitely understand bro. I see tattoos very differently, however. I have no qualms about being covered arm to arm, chest to torso, leg to leg and ankles to feets, one day... so, differing opinions. I think that if an object means something to you, then it would make an interesting tattoo. a vintage television, would be a very high-tech tattoo in it's time, and a neat vintage tattoo, for the grandkids to admire 1day.

I have a health issue that causes sores about my body, which eventually cause scars. So, I do plan to be covered in tattoos, to some degree, at some-point. (once I have my life together, w/ a good job, etc) so, I am of the camp that believes... if you believe in it, it will become art, once upon your body. </html> :p

Planned obsolescence ...

Vaping industry is in it for the money, just like any other business.

It IS a pleasant side effect that their products are less harmful. Actively marketing to non-smokers is a minefield in the current political climate. If ( fat chance ) all smokers would be converted to vapers, they'd be the new bad boys on the block. So BT does the dirty work for them of getting them hooked and vaping industry makes a living off eroding BT's customer base.

Cigs are cigs. Light up, smoke, snuff the ..... Vapes offer variety, lots of it. Good setup lasts a good while.
Which is fine for the buyers, not so fine for the sellers, cuz they don't see you as often as they'd like to.
Shortened product cycles, innovation (or make believe innovation aka marketing hype ) is meant to lure you back and click that 'Buy now' button...

yep, a wise man (like yourself) explained this to me when I first arrived back to the forum, few weeks before christmas. Said "everything about this new wave of vape-gear has been designed for super-consumption, extra-consumption, MORE-consumption. Everything. Everything is designed to force you into using more juice, funking-up your coils more quickly, over-heating your circuit-boards more-often, forcing you to charge batteries much-more often, causing you to purchase purchase purchase much more e-liquid, coil-heads, batteries, mods, tanks, rebuildables, accessories. More aluminum/plastic for more broken mods. More glass tanks for more broken tanks. Everything's changed, to force more purchases. What they want is more hobbyists... MORE collectors. Drive the prices of mods down. Make people believe they can afford to collect these devices. Tank prices go down. Make em feel like they can collect these things... Quality goes up, but so-does frequency of purchase, when everyone feels like they can "FINALLY" show-off a "COLLECTION" worthy of the "post pics of your setup" thread on ECF, right?

It's begun- The beginning of the gluttonous era.... The great storm, before the attempt to shut us down.

A last gasp. Hundreds of big wattage TC box mods and subohm tanks flood the market, much like a last meal before an execution. Maybe more like a money grab.
