The dehydration issue with vaping has been getting progressively worse with me. For me, it seems that something in vaping is definitely acting as a diuretic. When I vape heavy at night {while gaming} I have to go to the bathroom about every 20 minutes, it seems. But I have no idea what ingredient in my juice is causing this! Is it the VG? The PG? The nicotine? -I dunno. :(

I started vaping with Halo juice and never had these dehydration issues then. When I started DIYing my juice, I was at 75%PG and slowly over time I have gone to 75%VG so I am not sure if I am VG sensitive or if it is simply because I vape "too much." I have also reduced the nic from 24mg to 18mg to 15mg and even 10mg on some juice. Over time, the "diuretic" symptoms have slowly gotten more and more apparent......................

Currently, I am only vaping an 85%PG juice I made yesterday, just to see if it makes a difference. I just don't get it. I drink ridiculous amounts of Gatorade and water throughout the day, and have drank caffeinated coffee my whole life. This dryness malady is definitely from vaping. Very frustrating.

Nothing will drive me back to cigarettes. But this issue is really screwing up my daily life. Dry eyes, muscle aches, constipation, cotton mouth, and I have to sleep much more than before- even then I am tired all the time. SUCKS!

Another thing: I quit drinking alcohol about 6 years ago. No drinking for me, whatsoever. In the morning, I feel like I drank 18 beers the night before. I am ridiculously dehydrated from "pissing" so much every night and I have a headache every morning that is very similar to hangover symptoms. SMH....................

Anybody have any ideas to figure this one out???????????????

Have you checked with your doctor? I had similar symptoms a while back, before vaping, and it turned out to be a common men's ailment.

Found this thread through a search engine - for those of you experiencing dehydration and stating vaping seems to have become a diuretic to you, you're not imagining it.
I've been vaping for almost 4 years now. In the past year I was thirsty all the time and thought it was just dry mouth etc etc. I was ...... a lot. I then started having balance and fatigue issues, along with what felt like weakness in my heart and chest. After nearly fainting twice in one evening, I ended up in the ER. I had not made any connections between these symptoms or the vaping. If anything, it seemed like I was coming on with diabetes (and I'm skinny, young adult). They found that I was extremely low on potassium, and it was likely I was losing it through urinating so frequently. Potassium regulates all sorts of important vitals.

So, I did a little research. There's a substance called glycyrrhiza that they use to use in black licorice candy that has been banned because it causes exactly what I experienced. I found out the place I was getting my liquid from uses it. There's a possibility that it's a common ingredient for a lot of the producers. I can't say for sure. But, once I stopped vaping, the problem went away entirely. The thirst went away, the balance issues, everything. I stopped ...... like a diabetic.

Not sharing this to put a damper on the vaping community, vaping saved my life and got me off cigarettes. But if you're having these symptoms, I'd encourage you to take them seriously.
