Fog machines, I have worked on and worked with many...

There are many types and types of fog juice. Since I live in Indiana and only have experience in Indiana where a "low" humidity level is over 40%, there is plenty of water in the air for the PG to grab. The fog juice I generally use is mostly PG, but also contains VG and water. On humid days, 90-100% humidity, the fog output is too much even on the lowest setting. On low days, 40-60%, we sometimes have difficulty keeping the area fogged well with the units we have.

I also notice that my son can take my PV, same juice, same timed draw, and produce 3x as much vapor on exhale as I do.

I also know that I get dehydrated quickly if I do not drink water when vaping, so there is no question in my mind as to the humectant quality of the vapor.

It would be interesting to see if plain PG would produce vapor when heated in an actual dry situation. Anyone who has a chamber that has that kind of enviromental control should be able to run some test for us provided the owners of said chamber are willing to let said member do such a thing. Who's raising their hand?

You could maybe try a water based sugarless fruit drink. Although in Canada my wife loves Presidents Choice 100% Juice Blend 5 Berry- mixes it 10 parts water to 1 part juice.
Good Luck.

Thank you everybody! I have been reading your posts to her as they come...LOL I completely forgot she hates water though..I myself already drink at least a liter per day as I don't drink anything with caffeine and avoid the caffeine free sodas because all that syrup is addicting for me! I hope the water thing doesn't keep her from vaping as she used one of the disposables I bought her to replace 10 cigarettes last night (it went down to 22 degrees last night and she smokes outside)

I'm not a big fan of drinking lots of plain water either...

I found that Mio fixes everything and the last 3 or 4 days have had no problem consuming 80-90 oz

funny though... it contains PG LOL

so maybe not as good as plain water... but certainly not as bad as 90oz of soda LOL

Neat and thanks ClippinWings. Except for the PG that's almost identical to the stuff my wife drinks and I'm sure lots of vapers that don't like water could really use this info.

I dunno if there's anything in this Planet anymore that we can consider "OK" LOL

Part of the vapor created when we exhale comes from the oxygen in our lungs (oxygen contains H2O - water), the other part of the vapor from the moisture in our mouths and bodies - thus the dehydration. Fog machines pull the H2O from the air around them. Both fog machines and our bodies use the PG to casuse Hygroscopy. Hygroscopy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Whenever our bodies ascend to higher altitudes we need to hydrate in greater degrees as well. High Altitude and Dehydration

Simply because we need to breath more often and when we exhale to do so, we deplete the moisture that is in our bodies.

At sea level the average person should be drinking 8 10 oz glasses of water a day. Every 2,000 feet of elevation we need to add 4 more 10 oz glasses. So, depending on how much one vapes (Hygroscopy) they need to increase their H2O intake.

I've been vaping for a little less than two weeks now and I've noticed that I drink water alot more. But water is good, so no problem here : )

Yes water is very good. But, trust me...few of us get enough in the first place. So, when we put PG in our bodies, which essentially pulls water out of our bodies to create the vapor, we need to REALLY increase our water intake.

I was never a water drinker before I started vaping, but now just seems easy. I have cut way back on the amount of juices/soda I used to drink. The first week I vaped I didn't know about the dehydration and I felt something was wrong- I just didn't know what. Now I try to drink at least 2-3 quarts a day and it easier to do than I thought it would be. Cheers:)

Lastly, when any smoker first begins vaping (and stops analogs) they will immediately start detoxing all the poisons and chemicals in their bodies. The body NEEDS large amounts of hydration to cleanse all that stuff out. A very good indicator of not taking in enough water - the color of ones urine. Clear = hydrated. Yellow - dehydrated. Drink until it looks like water when it comes out the other side. : )

I can definitely feel the effects of dehydration. The fact that there are people there is incidental. The vapor produced sucks moisture from everything it touches. Blow it on your hand. Does it feel cold. That, my friends, is evaporative cooling. Try sticking your hand in front of a fog machine. It's warm vapor but your hand will get cold very quickly. As the vapor cools, it simply loses it's ability to pull the moisture from it's surroundings and the fog simply dissipates.
