Afternoon Vapers,

My 3 year anniversary off the stinkies and vaping is on 4/20/2015
Every year I purchase an authentic mod to treat myself.
This year I want to dive into temp control.

So... the question is.
dna-40 what mod should i get?

1) Hana V4?
2) Vapor Shark?
3) Flask?

Please post your opinion and why you choose that device.
**NOTE** Price is not a factor thanks in advance

I really like the Flask and the V4. The rDNA not so much, I like and kind of expect dual batteries if I am paying that price. I sold both of my rDNAs a few days ago, I have two v4s and a Flask. Besides the dual batteries I much prefer the looks of the Hana and Flask and I really enjoy the way the Flask feels in my hand. If I could only have one though it would be the Hana for looks and I have had an excellent experience with Hana when I bought a DNA30 a while back so I would choose Hana. At the end of the day they all run the DNA40 chip the real consideration is the battery, looks, feel and which company you wish to spend your money with IMO. The Hana feels really well built in my hand, I have a black one topped with my authentic black Hobo and it looks killer. My other ones gunmetal and I have my authentic SS Quasar on it. I run higher ohm builds with DNA40 mods then anything else. I have a .8 parallel 28 gauge single coil in the Quasar and its flavour city. The Hobo is built with kanthal as well, I have an extremely low resistance (.12) build in a v2 Tugboat set at 380 with nickel and its fantastic. Nickel and TC are really brillant, I wont buy another regulated mod without it. I had 15 boxes, I liquidated them all and have three DNA 40 devices and a decent chunk of cash that I plan to spend on about five authentic mech mods and an authentic V4 KF haha.

Congrats on 3 years! I have all 3 and they're all excellent. If I could only have 1, I'd keep the flask. But they all have things I don't like. The flask has the screen on top and its a great entry point for leaking juice. Other than that, the build quality is amazing and the button is perfect. Congrats again!

Congrats on the 3 years. If I could only pick one of your 3 choices, it would be the Vaporshark rDNA - I like the small size and the improved power options:
- Zip charging (1.5 hours vs 5 - 10 hours for the others)
- magnetic battery door for quick swaps
- wireless charging

I own the Flask 2.1 and Hana V4m. To me, they are the higher quality devices. I have zero problems with each. The VS seems to be made of a cheaper material and the coating scratches off real easily from taking tanks on and off. I have only handled a few in person and they just didn't seem as nice to me. The best thing about it to me is the zip charging and bigger screen.

Vapor Shark CS is also not as good in my experience as Vapor Flask and Hana Modz. Julie at Hana is great no matter if you call in or email. Vapor Flask responds to email very quickly as well. VS on the other hand all depends on who you talk to and is not a consistent CS experience.

I also like that both the Hana and Flask are made right here in the USA.

The Flask has the best ergonomics out of all of them and is so comfortable to hold. It is also pocket friendly with its curved shape. The buttons are solid and have a great tactile feel. The screen being on the top is also a great feature so you can see it while you vape. My V4m is extremely pocket friendly due to its size and gets great battery life that easily lasts all day. Great stealth mod. The buttons are also solid on the Hana.

I can't really say for sure as I only have Vaporshark's... One is the DNA and the other is the rDNA, I like them both for different reasons, but form is the obvious challenge when choosing between mods using the same brains..

I skipped the Flask due to its cost and size. I have plenty of extra batteries so changing a battery is nothing, especially with the magnetic door.

I think the Hana has this as well though.

The DNA version of the Shark is only slightly smaller and to be honest I wish I had just another rDNA, but I wanted shiny NOW and the DNA's were in stock and I had to order the rDNA... However, if they had put the wireless charging in the DNA version, I would love it.

Best of luck and congrats on 3 years... I am approaching one year myself, ten days!!!!!

I have a Hana V3 Pack DNA 40 and a VaporShark rDNA 40. They both operate exactly the same due to the same Evolv board inside. I love the temperature control and will NEVER use anything without it again.

My opinion:

rDNA 40:
You may not like the screen on the bottom - I don't care. Unless I can see it while I am vaping (flask), I really don't care where they put it.
The unit is heavier than you would expect, but not too heavy for me.
The heavier material feels more solid that the Hana V3 Pack (not saying the Hana is not a solid device)
The finish does chip easily from general use.
The finish seems to give a good grip when using the device
No need for tools when swapping the battery
Battery door is solid when in place. I have never had it come off without intending on taking it off.
Zip charging is awesome!
Wireless is cool if you want that, but not as fast as Zip charging.
Amazingly small for an 18650 mod.
Very simple and non-flashy looking
No hot glue used for manufacturing
Large fire button is very comfortable to use
Fire button scratches very easily
Button placement allows for easy single handed adjustment

Hana V3 Pack
Light weight aluminum feels significantly lighter. Not to my liking. Almost seems top heavy with Subtank Mini on it.
Very cool looking & flashy
Traditional & slow charging
Bigger than rDNA by at least 10%, if not more.
Screwdriver needed to swap battery
Screw heads for battery door are easily stripped
Gobs of hot glue used in assembly
I think the fire button is somewhat uncomfortable to use.
Single handed adjustment of the settings is very difficult

There you have it. I will happily vape from either one. They both work great. The new VS rDNA mods have the updated Evolv board with the bugs fixed. I am not sure of Hana is up to date with the new boards yet. Both VS & Hana are reported to have customers service that is 2nd to none. Hana has options of dual battery units.

I called Hana. They are having me send it back. My rDNA is currently out getting the new board (fixed screen bugs) installed. Once that gets back, I will send the Hana in. As I said, I will never use a non-tp mod again.

THX... just wondered if ya got it sorted out....

I have all 3 and a lot of it comes to preference. I have the Hana v4d (dual battery) and my vapor shark is the rdna. My least favorite is the flask because of size and weight.

If you go with Hana, get the dual battery model. It's only a $10 different we envelope from the single battery. If you only want one battery, get the vapor shark. Also, take a loom at the sale Hana's, they are units that have scratches on them and are $30 cheaper. The scratches aren't that bad and they will text you photos before hand so you can see if it's bad.

Pros of Hana:
Aluminum box, multiple colors, dual battery, six month warranty, they're pretty, clicky Button's, fire button doesn't light up, Screen is on side, light weight, made in USA.

Cons: body scratches easy (I scratched mine by accidently rubbing a shirt that had jewels on it. Need a screwdriver to change battery, smaller screen, inside is not nice neat and clean (I can see the wires to battery contacts) Button's are not as comfortable to press, you'll have a difficult time using an atty larger than 22mm because of recessed 510 connector. Doesn't include battery

Pros of vapor shark
Smaller, durable finish, larger screen, comfortable buttons, easy to change battery, zip charging (only 1 1/2 hours), wireless charging, can use wider than 22mm atty, reverse battery warning, comes with battery, well built and very clean (no visible wires or glue) cheaper

Cons: screen on bottom, battery door can slide off, only one battery, heavier than Hana, fire button lights up, easy to accidently hit wattage up/down buttons if I had to buy another one, only comes in black. Only 4 month warranty

Personally, if I have to buy another, it would be the vapor shark.
