Do any veteran vapers still like clearos?

My first kit came with a clearomizer, aka Stardust (not the CE4). I used it on a 1000 mAh eGo battery. It worked pretty good at first, but after a couple of weeks of chain-vaping, it crapped out on me. Not knowing what to do, I got another one. It, too, worked pretty good at first, and then it crapped out on me, again.

I did a lot of research and talked with several veteran vapers, and they all said the same thing: "They're OK for beginners," but as they learn more, vapers tend to turn to other things, like cartos, cartotanks, atomizers, and ViVi Novas. (which, I guess, are just glorified clearos).

Our brick and mortar shop was dead set against clearos, but they've gotten so many requests that they're going to order some. I keep hearing about rebuildable CE4's. I even had one, but I passed it on to a noob who's interested in vaping (I loaned my aforementioned eGo battery to him, as well). It was OK, but for me, clearos have always been unreliable.

So, you three, four-year veterans, you still find yourself using Stardusts?

Yeah, that's the second reason our b&m is getting clearos... for tasting. It might deter a potential customer who is looking to buy just juice if they have to buy an atomizer, first. Also, if they're new, they might not think about primer fluid or cleaning the atty out, first. Fortunately the fellows at the Vaporcast Store are super nice, patient, friendly, and always willing to inform and educate those who seek it.

I don't think stardusts were even around 3-4 years ago, so really anyone vaping in the last year or so would have a view if they've used them. :)

I've always had the same kind of issues with Stardusts. But then I know a couple of vapers that swear by them and seem to get really good mileage from them. I don't have those issues with Vivis at all. I have used cartomizers since I first started vaping and still do. They are the most reliable of all. But some people don't like the polyfill - although I can't say I've noticed any polyfill taste myself. Some folk say they do.
I haven't tried a bottom coil T3 yet.

I used to just vape cartomizers but got sick of topping them off, haven't tried a carto tank yet. I have clearo's now and i like them so far, i have two stardusts and two Kanger T2's. I prefer the Kangers better because they hold more and have the changeable coil heads. When i change a head out i throw the used one in a pill bottle with vodka, let it soak a few days dry it out & do some dry burns and its good to go again.

I'm looking to try the Kanger bottom coil T3's next. and possibly a Mini Vivi nova.

I'm hardly a veteran, but I do NOT like clearomizers. Vapor production is not as good as I'd like and the darned things leak too much for my liking. I'm a hardcore cartomizer fan, but I have my choice carto as well, not all are the same for sure. I've tried many cartos and many burn out too fast. Gotta find that one that works for you and you will be a believer as well I think!

Oh, I found my preferred gadget, the DCT carto tank. I wish it would have something else other than "DCT" before it, because DCT means "dual coil tank", and I would humbly suggest going with a single coil (they are available). My reasons: dual coils tend to drain my battery twice as quick, and they burn too hot. Taste is definitely different. But then again, I'm vaping butterscotch, which is notoriously known for being a muted flavor in the first place. I'm still a little salty knowing that my favorite juice flavor doesn't work well with cartos and ViVi Novas. And dripping, while delicious, can be a pain.

When the ce2 clearos first came out I used the hell out of them, but then, once the 3's came out, the ce2's would only wick for a couple days before dry hits ensued. I then moved onto carto tanks, which are a pain sometimes, and then I moved on to genesis style tanks and haven't looked at anything else since. It's not for everybody, but I like being able to buy one atomizer or tank system, and then just rebuild it once a month.

Starting out on clearos has only been around for a few months. The 3-4 year vets all started out learning how to do tea bag and blue foam modifications to cartridges used with an atomizer.
Some folks love their rebuildable Vision eGo clearomizers and vivi nova tanks, others don't. No different than some love their RBA's and Gennies, and others don't. Hell, some of us even like a dripping atty. You simply aren't going to find anything that satisfies everyone.

The newer clearos are OK, but I find that if I use one to much I get a dry throat. So I can only use them part of the time.

I've worked with recoiling the vivi novas for a couple months now and had good success. But I wouldn't rely on them cause they're kinda iffy.. meaning that one might work for 2 weeks while another might work 2 minutes. they're easy to rebuild but it's easy to get a short.. nothing worse than spending 10 minutes winding a coil, putting it all together and filling it with juice only to get an E1 error a couple minutes (or immediately) later, then having to take it apart and start all over again.

Single coil xl boges in DCT tanks work best for me but sometimes I can taste the filler. I've got two cartos in tanks going right now.. both are 2 weeks old and still going strong and tasting great.

Having a good device (PV or APV) makes it a lot easier to get the most out of your carto/atty/clearo/whatever. I could get a good vape out of an Ego, but it would definately be harder, more expensive and more time consuming. (and very frustrating!)

Hardly a "veteran" but definitely a carto guy. Just a simple carto...no tank no nothin. I want easy...slip in your pocket easy. My experience with clearos has been too problematic. Many times I get frustrated reading the new members forum as people are advised to get this tank or that battery when, at least in my 3 month experience, new vapors would be better served by just recommending the simplest thing to start. Sure, in the future they may decide to branch out, or they may be like me and decide that simple is best.

Only a couple of months in and while I find the flavors
to be more pure in clearo type tanks, my carto tanks
are extremely reliable as in no leaking and not suddenly
dropping dead. Only thing is I can slightly taste the
    filling which mutes flavor.

    YMMV, of course.

Right now a mini vivi and a Kanger t3 are sitting in my
mailbox, awaiting my arrival. This will be my last go
    at clearos.

Just my two cents, I have tried just about every carto, tank , blue foam, atomizers, vv and countless other methods. This past January I got a bottom feeder from Vapage and it is by far the best most hassle free vape your gonna find. I don't work for them or anything like that, I was just sick of all the leaking tanks, cartos and the general hassle of filling, cleaning messes up and the constant maintenance of stated equipment. I have also shared this info with several close friends that used e cigs and cartos and they have switched to a bottom feeder also and are as happy as I am. Hope you find your sweet spot.

Hey, what is a bottom feeder? As a new vaper, I really want to try all the different juice delivery systems.

I'm just now trying clearomizers / novi tanks.

My first system was an egoT which many people don't like. But I honestly don't mind them provided you use LR and adjust the tank and wick. I used cartos as well but didn't find them all that cost effective for someone who is still trying to find their every day vapes.

For whatever reason I prefer a non-disposable vape system. Now I'm trying to figure out which I will prefer.

I used carto's and carto's in tanks for a long time. Tried the CE2's and never liked them. Might be because I didn't have VV yet. Get a VV device. Found the T2's and I find that they are the best way to vape. No leaks, no mess. These coils last forever. I have not killed one yet. I clean them every 5-6 refills and they just won't die. I have 2 that I have filled over 50 times so far. These are the cheapest and easiest way to vape.
