I didn't get childish or personal. I posted my findings and experience with his O-ring fitment. Your perfectly welcome to enjoy these tanks. I didn't just come on this forum out of the blue to complain. I did try ibtanked email contacts first. I started that process a week ago. It takes 1 to 2 days for each response.

I know the tank breaking was my fault. I wouldn't expect them to do anything about that.

I absolutely considered that this was user error and maybe it still is. Maybe they do fit but the picture I posted to back up what I was saying clearly shows they are different sizes. In either case it's my opinion the design needs work if it's that much of a hassle to replace them. If you don't think so your free to think that way but coming on here and blasting a complete stranger because they don't see it your way shows who the real child is in this conversation. And frankly a moderator should ban you or give you a warning for that kind of behavior. Your way out of line for attacking me like that.

That was not an attack it was facts from your own post. And I didn't post anything as my way. My original post to yours simply stated I also didn't get your post and that you should take it up with OCD. Your coming on here and bashing a vendor for no valid reason and in the wrong section and then making blanket statements and insinuations is insulting to say the least. And to be quite honest if your gonna dish it you better be able to take it. And please take it to a mod because I did nothing wrong or out of the rules. But you did. There is a section for rants and complaints and this aint it. Constructive criticism is always welcome here but not tantrums, blanket statements or insinuations. Your posts were and are clearly made to place blame on someone other then your self because your frustrated. As YOU stated your entitled to your opinion as am I and this is mine like it or not.

For the sake of this argument I tried replacing the orings on a 25mm and 22mm. Everything came out without hassle and new ones in like butter. I still don't see the issue.

Perhaps it's a one off situation or user error...I don't know.

Or both. And perhaps this would be better solved by a support ticket to IBTank's customer service and PMs.

josho, true true. :) There is frustration on both sides here from what I can see.

My only frustration (not even a good term) was that my first ibtanked order shipped the same day, and my next order sat pending for 4 days. But a quick phone call was enough to figure out that the order system bugged out and didn't change the status. The tank arrived the same day I called. But they were friendly and helpful, all anyone could ask for.

I said I was sure MR OCD was a nice person. I didn't bash him at all.

That's strange that your offended by someone complaining about a product you have zero affiliation with. It's like being offended that someone doesn't like a Ford.

I posted detailed photo's of exactly what I was talking about. I supported my claim with evidence the best I could. That is not making blanket accusation or insinuations.

I clearly stated I could be the problem. I also clearly stated many people love these tanks and have no problems.

I also stated the first thing I did was create a support ticket. That was over a week ago. Sorry but that is not very good support and it's not my problem if they are so busy they can't do any better than that. Hire someone if it's so busy but don't blame the customer when they grow impatient and aggravated with that kind of support.

Now as far as everyone else goes. I apologize for posting in this thread. I don't think IBtanked is operated by bad people. I think MR. OCD has been trying to help. It's just a frustrating thing because they were not working for me. I couldn't use them.

Having said all that MR. OCD was correct. The O-rings do in fact fit. I was able to get one in last night after about an hour of pushing and scrunching. He was right and I was wrong and so I apologize now for my stupidity on this matter. I rightfully felt like a complete idiot when the O-ring popped into place.

Finally, IBTipsys are all up... still need a couple pictures for two mia ones but everything is there. This also shows the new colors we will be adding for the 22 caps and of course we have all the colors in the 19s too which will be added soon.

OOS colors on the 22s are back in stock too.

Lastly, the clear and colored tubes and mini cartomizers are listed for the Halflings. No complete bundles on these yet but all the pieces are there to put together a Halfling tank. I also added the eGo cones. This is a nice setup and folks at VapeStock really liked the looks of it

Halfling tube with 22 Anodized Caps
IBTipsy
Mini Cartomizer
eGo 650 Winder
Straight or Flared eGo Cone

All of these pieces add up to about $58 and we think make for a great deal when you consider it includes and IBTanked Tank and IBTipsy along with a VV eGo battery all for less than many other tanks alone would cost.

And yes I agree the Hot Pink looks a bit purply to me too but I just do what I am told ;) We have a new color Grape that is a real Purple though for Purple lovers out there (you can see it in the IBTipsy's). Again all the colors on the IBTipsy's will be added in both the 22s and the 19s, just give me a little time on that. We will also try and get some kits together like the current complete tanks for easy ordering. Its just tough listing up kit style because of how many option we have with so many combinations that can be made to make up your own style. Working on getting some new software on the site to help with this.

The 22 Halflings hold just over 1ml in the tank and currently the only cartomizers available are the punch your own variety though we do have an inexpensive punch.

A big Lol out to the customer that left his 4th of July note, He said he was tanked and now he needs a new tank. We always get a kick out of the humorous remarks some folks leave in the order notes.

Got the two missing IBTipsy images up (Green Bishop and Grape Pawn) So now there are photos of all of them plus a group shot.

Also just finished getting the 19mm Anodized Caps up, we are missing clear still on these and Grape on the 22s so they will go up when we get them in. Still have some more little things to add and some new RBA Glass to get in there once I have it made but all of the big additions are done. Time for me to get to work on some other things now as the shop has been missing me.

Hiyas!

I have two things in mind for this post, and wanted to do it here in case I can help someone else looking for the same setup:

First off, I really appreciate the quality and craftsmanship that went into my tank. It's as leak free as my smoktech DCT with SEALED end caps, and kung fu grips a carto as tight as my X8 locking tank . Great job on this 25 mm stainless XL, my go-to all day tank now... if only I had ordered Abysse instead of clear.

My second thing is a plea for help with my X8. I can't get it to happily stay leak free, like my other tanks will. It's got a PC tube that fears Cinnamon and Clove eJuice, and there's a couple of new friends coming to play, Terminator RDA twins, that could use some locking tank love. I'd like to replace the anemic X8 tube with real glass in XL size, and replace the X8 rubber sieves with working orings. If needed, I can measure it and provide the specs for both the tank and the rings. Lemme know what will work and I'll place an order, and in the sexy ninja black color this time.

Thanks!
Len

Hi Len, for measuring orings use the ID and CS (Cross Section) When measuring the ID you need to eyeball it pretty close as you cannot touch it with your calipers. For the CS you need to get it to just grip the rubber so the oring will not fall out but not compress it.

Measure the CS first and see what it is closest to 1 1.5 1.6 1.75 or 2mm. If 1.75 is the winner switch to inch measure and get the ID for the others you will want metric measure for the ID and it will either be a full or half number for the most part (1.5 2 2.5 ect). I dont have half numbers in all sizes. The other possibility is 1.6 CS orings have *.1 (2.1 3.1 ect) IDs. This can be helpful in tightening something up that currently has 1.5 CS orings.

I have a vast oring collection and will be getting them listed soon to make it easy to pick up a variety of sizes in small quantities on the cheap.

Send me a note as to the sizes you need and I will check to see that I have them, we sell orings for fifty cents a pair which is a pretty good markup but its a small sell item that requires handling. Most you can purchase for someone like McMaster Carr for anywhere from $3 to $10 a 100 (plus shipping of course).

Someone sent me a Terminator and I am going to get it measured and make a tube for it so it will be the proper length to use with our caps.

Today was a sad day... Washing machine went into spin cycle and my eVic hit the floor with my OCD Tank on it, at the perfect angle to drive a wedge right out of the tank... I need a new one! This time, with COLORS!

And, while I didn't measure orings, I did find a measurement for the K8 Tank so I can request a pyrex replacement...

"The tube for the X8 has an OD of 20.8mm, with a wall thickness of 1mm, giving an ID of 18.8mm. With the right o-rings, you could theoretically use glass tubing up to 19.0mm ID."

I just placed an order for 3 of the 22mm by 3mm wall custom tubes, and a replacement 25mm XL in Abysse and Crimson Light Swirl.

I'll report back on how the custom tubes fit the X8 caps and the Terminator KC RDA, and if I need different orings.

Cheers!

Hey Len, double check your measurements there for me and let me know if everything is right. You ordered 22 x 3mm tube but you mentioned a 19mm ID. You have to count the wall twice since it is on both sides so ID = OD - Wall*2 which would mean for a 22mm OD to get to 19mm ID you want a 1.5mm wall tube.

Just want to make sure you get what you need, if you have any questions please feel free to post them.

Erk you are soo right! I'll call tomorrow if you are available and fix that :( This would have been sorta frustrating, much kudos for catching it.

So I have one of these tanks coming in the mail and can't wait to try it. But I do have 2 questions as this is the first time I'm using a tank.

1. Is there anything I need to do special to keep this tank running at an optimal level? Someone mentioned lubricating the carto. Can someone explain this?

2. How much juice should I be able to get into a 22mm Halfling?

I can't answer your second question, but for the first one about inserting the carto into the tank, this is what I do: I fill the carto with about 1.4 ml of liquid (for the XL size carto) using a syringe, and then I do the thermometer shake to force the liquid to the bottom. After a few shakes, you'll see a drop or two of liquid come out of the fill holes in the carto, so I then just use my index finger to smear that liquid along the outside of the carto. I then pop the fill tool (tip) onto the carto and insert it halfway into the tank, where I can fill the tank the rest of the way.

Methods will vary, but this is what works for me. :D

Very well said. Regarding different methods, I fill my carto with a syringe until liquid comes out of the bottom air hole or one of the punched holes/slots. I then use my finger to dab some of that juice along the outside of the carto -- this acts as a lubricant so that it slides past the tank's orings without issue. I don't use any sort of tip while inserting the carto and have never had a snagging issue but many people have and suggest the use of one. After sliding the carto in about 80% of the way, I'll use the same syringe to fill the tank from above to about 3/4 full. Fully insert the carto and drip tip, take a small pull to make sure the airway is clear, and enjoy!

I use the Thingy Method and have since its discovery. It just works so easy and the liquid goes right into the bottom where you want to make sure it is, at least on a single coil cartomizer.

I think the more important thing is in starting the cartomizer up. Dont apply power to it like you are going to while using it. If using VV turn it down and either way use very quick half second or less taps on the fire button when taking a draw. Do this until you get some vapor and flavor then add a little more time to the tap time. This will ensure the liquid is actually on the coil. You cannot make a coil glow with low power and a quick press on the power, it takes longer than half a second or so to get it that hot. Once the liquid is there it will lose its energy vaporizing liquid. Then and only then turn it up and go to town.

How you treat your cartomizer in the first minute will have a huge impact on how it will treat you for the next week.

The halfling I punch two holes and the punch we sell makes a pretty big hole. If looking at the cartomizer in the tank from the side I see half the hole above the cap which should give you an idea as to where I place mine. Since these are big holes and will drain like crazy when the carto is lowered I dont fill from the top. The cartos we currently have are not flanged so I fill from the bottom, just push the threaded end into the tank while holding the top cap so it cannot come out until it is almost flush. Using a dropper bottle like pretty much all eLiquid comes in poke the tip in between the carto threads and the cap, it wont really go in there but it is close enough. A gentle squeeze and fill the tank, I hold the tank angled slightly where the point where the bottle tip is on the downward side. I do this to make sure the liquid wont make a seal vaporlocking the tank preventing the liquid from flowing in nicely.

Once filled its a quick press on the cartomizer from the other end to slide it back into place (supporting the bottom cap now as the carto is moving that direction). Wipe off the bottom of the tank if needed, pop on a drip tip and vape.

It literally takes me less time to fill a tank than it would have taken to read this post. For those going to VapeFest in Vegas in September I will be doing a cartomizer 101 class (Fiddlin With You Thingy) for anyone interested in the tips I have learned along the way along with Q&A for whatever we can cover. Not sure about times as of yet but I believe we are going to go an hour and we will do it each day of the event provided there are time slots open for it.

Oh Yeah, almost forgot. The Halfling holds about 1.2ml which isnt a lot for some but is for others. They are all so easy to fill though I dont even think about the size other than having enough liquid with me. I use between 3 and 5ml a day and when going anywhere (rare) I go loaded :D I always carry at least a second mod and second tank in case a battery goes flat or a cartomizer decides its done or a tank gets broke or lost (neither of which has happened to me yet *Knock on wood). I will usually carry a spare battery for a mod if it is user replaceable and a bottle of my Liquid too. All of that pretty well goes into my pockets easily and I dont even notice it

You should make a youtube video of what you just described. :2c: Now when you go to refill, do you do the same thing? Sorry I'm such a noob with this.
