Hi Lauren,

I work in the music business and as you know music studios are closed enviroments. Before vaping I had to go outside to have a ... but now I vape during the sessions. My sound engineers got used to it and never had any complaint at all. I also vape in meetings. Again, without any problems. If you need anything from me just sent me a PM, I wouldn't mind you using my real name.
BRegards

The old man is 75 but it seams that his 37 years old wife and his smoking habit keep him alive until now. The very first thing that we did when we bought the airplane, was to rip-off an non smoking sign from the entrance door and buy lots of ashtrays :vapor:

Wow man that's nuts. I thought I was bad.

I just got an email from Blu cigs (I had registered w/them when I first tried them and started vaping) saying this is a WSJ survey about smoking at work. I figured it may be related to this thread so figured I'd post the link for anyone wanting to participate. No relationship with anyone, no dog in the hunt, etc, etc:

Electronic Cigarettes at Work?

Here is more info from the original email I received, edited to remove the marketing stuff:

In 2014 we resolve to help you take back your freedom! Where would you like to use your blu eCigs electronic cigarette most—perhaps the workplace? Does your employer let you use your electronic cigarette at work? We want to know! To participate in our poll, please use the link provided below, respond to a few questions and get your voice heard today:

I also vape at work. I don't do it in front of customers and I usually only take a few puffs here and there throughout the shift. If I feel like I need to take more than a few puffs then I step outside get my five or six and then I'm good to go. My boss said it was okay to do so but then later said that I probably shouldn't any more because corporate may not approve. Well, I wait to hear that from corporate. Until then I will continue to take a puff here and there while I work. Not to be defiant but because there is no one around to see or take offense.

Yes, I vape at work. I do it all the time on my breaks and lunch. At first I got a few strange looks, I live in the Midwest, most people aren't used to it. But shortly after explaining what it was and how different it is from years ago, I have even convinced a few of my coworkers to quit smoking and switch to vaping! I was one of the first people that I knew of over 1000 associates. Now, I see more and more people using them and they are not smoking anymore! It's a great feeling.

Hi all, thanks for your contributions and comments and insights. Here's the final version of the story (it may be behind a paywall, in which case I think you can access it by searching for it in Google and clicking the links that come up).

E-Cigarettes Spark New Workplace Issue for Employers - WSJ.com

Best,
Lauren

Thanks so much Lauren.

Yes, it's behind a paywall, and unfortunately I had to drop my subscription last year after my husband got laid off for the second time. I love the WSJ, and subscribed for years.

I'll google it and see if I can find it.

My name is my handle, Dr. Robert Yellow Hawk. And, since I run a small clinic, NO ONE may smoke/vape inside the clinic, as many people are trying to quit in that environement. Plus a medical establishment, is not a bar, or restaurant. A BIT DIFFERENT. I vape, but, OUTSIDE. Out the Back as a matter of fact, I bring my trusty Kraken, and all I need is about 2 vapes on it, to get my nic. fix for HOURS.
